I have used dbForge as an IDE for Oracle PL/SQL application development. It’s easy SQL formatting, database connection management, and query auto completion help a lot during Oracle PL/SQL development, especially when working with several databases simultaneously. dbForge also provides various output formats such as CSV, Excel, or SQL, which makes it easy to share data with different teams. dbForge provides a convenient GUI to manage database objects like tables, views, procedures, and functions. Oracle SQL Developer works better and covers almost all the features available in dbForge, free of cost. It gives us multiple operations that explicitly merges our bitmaps obtained from our indices scanning. All our committed and non-committed changes are updated in our logs which can be retrieved for further analysis. Overall, the dislike about dbForge, which manages our Oracle databases, is none. This is critical in identifying production issues in our database applications and collects our cordial diagnostic data such as trace dumps and log files which helps us to analyze critical errors in our production environment. It gives us the option of keeping the data synchronized between different Oracle servers and with this we manage to automate the change management process of the application schemas, while the development lasts. Visually confusions can be generated due to the location of some of the options, mainly when you configure the TNS. It would be very useful if in all the screens you can see the number of lines or total registers of the program; sometimes this number can be seen in a tab, where the table definition is, but it is not always visible. As a MSSQL developer, I have become accustomed to how SMS works. I have used dbForge for MySQL for years which mimics that UI. When I was tasked with developing an Oracle project, there is nowhere else I would turn to! This UI made it extremely easy to transition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. I am not cure if this is dbForge issue or Oracle because of my limited knowledge of Oracle, but When I try to stop an executing stored procedure, it take a long time and I end up having to kill the session. As the cloud becomes more popular, I would also like to see options that support cloud databases. Recommendations to others considering dbForge Studio for Oracle: I am not sure what tools are out there for Oracle. I know from a MySQL standpoint, dbForge outperforms any of the other tools. For that reason, I chose it for Oracle and have not been disappointed. If your new to Oracle or do not like your current Oracle tools, I suggest you try out the 30 day free trial. I had to teach myself Oracle in a matter of weeks and convert MSSQL Code to Oracle. dbForge made that transaction much easier. EXECUTE rdsadmin.rdsadmin\_util.kill(\, \). It would be nice if I could identify this connection as AWS RDS and when i use session manager to kill a session, it executes that command instead of the standard kill command which doesn't work on AWS servers.
