## About DataPortia
DataPortia is an advanced industrial data acquisition and reporting software that connects to automation systems via OPC UA protocol. It stores time-series data in a PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB database and provides a web-based interface for real-time monitoring, trend analysis, and report generation.

## DataPortia Reviews
  ### 1. Complete on-premises industrial data platform with local AI — finally no cloud dependency

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about DataPortia?**

The on-premises AI analytics is a game-changer for industrial environments. Being able to run anomaly detection, forecasting, and cost optimization locally via Ollama — without sending sensitive process data to the cloud — solves a real cybersecurity concern that most competing products ignore.

The ease of integration with OPC UA automation systems is excellent. Connect to Siemens, ABB, Valmet, or any OPC UA-compatible system within minutes. The real-time dashboards update instantly, and the interactive trend views with drag-to-zoom make it easy to investigate process events across any time range. User interface is also very easy to use.

I also appreciate the automated reporting — schedule daily, weekly, or monthly PDF/CSV reports and they're generated without any manual work. The TimescaleDB backend handles massive data volumes (we're talking 2000+ measurements per second) with efficient compression, so storage costs stay reasonable even with years of historical data.

The 4-language interface (Finnish, English, Swedish, German) is a surprisingly useful feature for Nordic and DACH industrial sites where operators speak different languages.

**What do you dislike about DataPortia?**

The product is still relatively new to the market, so the community and ecosystem around it is small compared to established players like Ignition or AVEVA. Documentation could be more extensive with more real-world deployment examples. Video tutorials would be a welcome addition for new users getting started with the OPC UA configuration.

**What problems is DataPortia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DataPortia solves the core problem of getting actionable insights from industrial process data without expensive proprietary historian software or mandatory cloud subscriptions.

Previously, collecting data from OPC UA automation systems required either costly enterprise solutions (Simatic Process Historian, AVEVA, PI System) with per-tag licensing, or cobbling together open-source tools (Grafana + InfluxDB) that lack native OPC UA connectivity and industrial-grade features like alarm management.

DataPortia provides a complete solution in one package: data acquisition, storage, visualization, reporting, alarm management, and AI analytics — all running on open-source PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB. The one-time perpetual license model eliminates recurring costs, and the on-premises architecture keeps all data within the local network, which is critical for industrial cybersecurity compliance.

The AI analysis has been particularly valuable for identifying anomalies in process data that would be impossible to spot manually across hundreds of measurement points.
