# Which contact center payments platforms enable agents to process transactions directly during customer calls?

I was trying to map out which contact center payments platforms enable agents to process transactions directly during customer calls, and reading the contact center payments category taught me the shape of the answer: every serious product here keeps the agent on the call while the payment happens, and they differ on what the agent sees and does during those seconds. Review evidence is thin category-wide, so I've laid out each design with its verification status. Here's the map I ended up with:

Encoded: The clearest statement of this exact workflow I found anywhere: the agent stays on the call guiding the customer, the customer keys card details on their own keypad, and the agent gets real-time on-screen progress without ever accessing the card data, with tokenization for repeat payments (all vendor-stated). That's the question answered as a product design. Zero G2 reviews, so the design is the demo script, not a verdict.

PCIPal: The rated leader for the same agent-assisted pattern across voice and digital channels (vendor-stated), and the one whose historical base suggests it delivers, at 4.7 across 22 reviews with an enterprise-leaning mix. Its recent silence on G2 means your reference call asks the during-call question directly: what does the agent's screen show while the customer types?

Sycurio.Digital: The during-call design for link-based payments: the agent sends a secure payment link and tracks it in real time, watching progress and nudging the customer forward while still talking (vendor-stated), with links that can expire by clicks, time, or geography. For transactions where customers want to see what they're paying, this is the strongest stated pattern; no reviews test it.

ONEINC: The vertical version for insurance: CSRs send pay-by-link via email or text mid-call or take details through a virtual keyboard that shields data from keystroke tracking (vendor-stated). It shows how specific this workflow gets when built for one industry's calls; again, no review base.

What I'd actually test, because the category's reviews won't do it for you: run a live transaction in each demo with you as the customer and their team as the agent, and time three things, seconds from amount agreed to payment screen ready, what the agent can see and say while you type, and what recovery looks like when you deliberately enter a wrong digit. During-call payment succeeds or dies in those three moments, and every vendor above claims them; the stopwatch sorts the claims. Agents and team leads, what does your screen actually show during a customer's card entry, and does staying on the call genuinely help completion or just fill silence? Frontline answers would beat every product description I've quoted.

Sycurio's approach of sending a secure payment link and tracking it in real time while still talking to the customer is a nice middle ground for customers who want to see what they're paying before confirming. Does staying on the call actually improve completion, or mostly just reduce customer anxiety about the transaction?

The requirement on the agent's screen is progress without detail: enough to know the customer is mid-entry and hasn't stalled, nothing more. Encoded describing real-time progress with no access to the card data is the cleanest version of that in your list.

Processing a payment directly during a call sounds simple until PCI scope enters the picture. I'd want to know exactly what stays out of the agent's environment before trusting the setup.

One thing I'd suggest is running a live mock transaction during the demo, with you as the customer and their team as the agent. Time how long it takes from payment initiation to confirmation, and also ask what the agent actually sees on screen while the customer is entering digits. That agent visibility piece is often where tools differ the most, and it's easy to gloss over in a standard product walkthrough.
