First of all, my team has been superb. Really great experience. Our incredible rep Allyson has saved me more than once in tough situations, bringing resources to bear and managing incidents to successful conclusion. Kendrick and Daniel, on the tech side, have given us incredible value and dedication. The second thing is the pricing model. PEPM pricing just makes sense for small comapnies. **What do you dislike about Cyvatar.ai?** The trade-off of a managed solution is that you can't configure and customize it yourself. For small start-ups, however, this can actually be a plus -- Cyvatar provides a lot of value while shielding you from the complexity. When you grow large enough to need advanced customizations, you might have outgrown them as a vendor. **What problems is Cyvatar.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?** For small comapnies, buying, configuring and deploying a large number of advanced cybersecurity produts can be prohibitively costly and time consuming -- that is, if you even have the exeprtise to do so in-house. Cyvatar admirably fills that gap for small start-ups, helping my org punch WAY above our weight with our cybersecurity program. Implementation of the solution through Cyvatar allowed MOD Pizza to come up-to-speed in TVM much more quickly than would have been possible using our own resources. ### 3. I'd like to keep going, but I think I've gushed enough. **What do you dislike about Cyvatar.ai?** Dashboard UI is somewhat limited and not the most intuitive for certain things. Example - vulnerability scan and penetration test results are not displayed directly in the UI, but require a Cydekick to upload said results for retrieval. It's more of a nit-pick than anything since engineers at our org tend to be more oriented toward self-serve solutions. **What problems is Cyvatar.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?** My org is a seed-round SaaS startup with less than 20 employees. When we first discovered Cyvatar, our perceived need was simply a penetration test to satisfy our SOC2 Type 2 audit, a feature included in Cyvatar's Threat and Vulnerability Management product. Once we began onboarding TVM, it became apparent that the value proposition was much more significant than anticipated. Given such a small population and the raw cost of establishing an enterprise IT program, we coasted along as most startups do - with BYOD-style workstations/laptops managed individually by our senior-heavy engineering staff. Most of us were responsible-enough adults to keep our machines patched and not do anything too stupid. However, it was still a significant risk that we were not taking seriously and would have cost us dearly on our compliance audit. Cyvatar saved us from ourselves at a startup-friendly price point. Instead of adding headcount to handle general systems administration tasks, we now have Cyvatar's team running point on routine patching, vulnerability scanning, and endpoint policy management for a fraction of the cost of a single systems administrator. In over a decade of professional systems and infrastructure experience, Cyvatar's onboarding process has been the most comprehensive, hands-on, white-glove service I've been privy to. I'm just one engineer who isn't spending much money with them, but they still rolled out the red carpet. Service has been impeccable - anything I needed was handled promptly and professionally, and they stayed on top of issues when my attention was elsewhere. We got that penetration test on time and as promised, but by then, the value of the rest of the TVM product and, to a greater extent, the team's service had nearly rendered it an afterthought. I've bought a lot of SaaS subscriptions over the years. Without a doubt, Cyvatar TVM is one of the most pleasantly surprising purchases I never knew I needed, but the most refreshing and valuable part of the whole deal has been working with their staff. Being involved in the process ensures that I understand what has been implemented and why, so I have confidence in the systems in place and that we are receiving value for money. Other vendors I have worked with have not provided the level of collaboration and access, making supporting internal stakeholders extremely difficult. Overall the team have been fantastic and very easy to work with, as well as the technical team who procure and implement the security solutions you are assigned a dedicated Member Experience Manager who project manages the implementation and is a great resource to clarify any questions. **What do you dislike about Cyvatar.ai?** The approach that we have followed in our rollout has been weekly calls with most of the implementation being carried out on those calls, this isn't a problem for our business, but for a company looking to complete a rapid implementation, the progress may not be as quick as they would like. **Recommendations to others considering Cyvatar.ai:** Validate what you need and why during the sales cycle, our business had been provided with a long list of requirements from another vendor which didn't all turn out to be required. You will be hands-on and require admin access to internal systems e.g. Google Workspace, Office 365, Slack, Salesforce etc... in order to implement the program Ask the vendors you are considering if you will have admin access to the systems being implemented and be wary of those who will not allow you to have access. **What problems is Cyvatar.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?** As an SMB that provides services and software to companies of all sizes, we needed to implement a robust security program compliant with our customers security requirements and our cyber security insurance policy. We are not big enough to have dedicated IT or Security staff, so required a partner we could work with to implement the requirements without the investment of recruiting dedicated staff. ### 6. An introduction to the other tools that we use, such as Automox and Tenable, is helpful. And when more detailed manual intervention is required, they have the experience to guide or address directly. **What do you dislike about Cyvatar.ai?** The offering is not fully baked and has shifted a lot. Initially, we primarily wanted an outsourced fractional Chief Security Officer, and this is no longer an offering. Also, the software platform to aggregate information from the various services is still not fully functional. **Recommendations to others considering Cyvatar.ai:** If you have technical resources that can spare 1-2 hrs per week, it may be more cost-effective to insource this and leverage the same 3rd party security tools directly. **What problems is Cyvatar.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?** As of today, Cyvatar is monitoring if patches are being applied and if there are any high-priority vulnerabilities that need to be manually addressed. Knowing now that it's just rolling out Automox an Tenable for our devices and monitoring, it's likely something we could do with existing resources. Implemented Secure Endpoint Management, daily Threat & Vulnerability scans, bi-weekly security patches, and threat & vulnerability remediation processes to remediate outstanding vulnerabilities. **What do you like best about Cyvatar.ai?** 1. Our weekly Cyvatar calls, we get a lot done during these 30 minutes! 2. Overall team engagement has been really positive. 3. Newsletters, sharing major threats that we should be aware of and I like to hear what's new with the team and where the Cyvatar is traveling next! I hope to make it to a Cyvatar event this year. **What do you dislike about Cyvatar.ai?** Multiple logins to manage the E2E solution to get the full scope of work. For example, logging in to Cyvatar website, Automox, Tenable, and SentinelOne. False positives have been an issue, both on Automox (showing dup devices) and Tenable (vulnerabilities that can't be resolved or do not require action). **Recommendations to others considering Cyvatar.ai:** Just do it! **What problems is Cyvatar.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?** Problem: As a startup CTO, I am responsible for everything that falls under the IT umbrella. This means purchasing AuditMate devices, configuring them, deploying them, monitoring and patching the devices, troubleshooting when errors are found, and much more. Solution: Cyvatar has helped alleviate the pain point of monitoring, patching and troubleshooting these devices. Providing me with the tools to pinpoint where the issue is, on what device, and how to remediate the issue. If I am unable to remediate the issue on my own, I meet with Cyvatar technical lead who is able to walk me through the process.
