This review was written entirely without invitation or incentive from G2, a seller, or an affiliate. **Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2026 **What do you like best about CyberPanel?** CyberPanel has an attractive concept as a free, open-source hosting control panel and offers a number of features that, on paper, make it an appealing alternative to cPanel. However it doesn't actually work. Unfortunately, my experience with the commercial side of CyberPanel, particularly its paid add-ons, billing system and customer support, completely overshadowed any positives. **What do you dislike about CyberPanel?** My biggest concern is CyberPanel's handling of recurring subscriptions and cancellations. I purchased an "All Addons" subscription for $59/year. I stopped using the service and repeatedly requested cancellation. Despite those requests, CyberPanel charged my card $59 on July 17, 2025 and then another $59 on July 17, 2026. After extensive back-and-forth, CyberPanel support eventually investigated the account and confirmed in writing that: - Both $59 charges existed in their payment system. - Neither charge had been refunded. - The subscription was still active. The license had become detached from my account, which was why the service didn't even appear in my dashboard. There was no self-service mechanism for me to cancel the addon subscription. Their records included an earlier December 2025 conversation concerning cancellation and a refund. That means I was being billed for a recurring subscription that wasn't even visible in my customer account, while simultaneously having no way to cancel it myself. I repeatedly asked support to simply cancel the subscription. Multiple support representatives told me that they were unable to perform the cancellation themselves and that it had to be handled by their billing/admin team. They repeatedly forwarded or escalated the request without being able to provide any timeline for when someone would actually cancel it. For a company selling recurring subscriptions, I consider this completely unacceptable. A customer should be able to log into an account, see every active subscription and cancel one without going through weeks or months of support messages. At an absolute minimum, a support representative should be able to process a clear cancellation request promptly. I also recommend that prospective customers look beyond CyberPanel's overall online star ratings and read the detailed reviews carefully. I found a noticeable difference between many short, generic positive reviews and the much more detailed negative reviews describing specific technical, support, refund and billing problems. I cannot prove that positive reviews are fake or paid, so I am not stating that as a fact. However, based on what I reviewed, I personally would treat unusually generic 5-star reviews with considerable skepticism and focus more heavily on reviews containing specific technical details and documented customer experiences. Any real reviews I've read have experienced the same problems I have. **What problems is CyberPanel solving and how is that benefiting you?** CyberPanel is intended to provide a lower-cost hosting control panel and server-management alternative to products such as cPanel, except it never really actually works as advertised. In my case, however, the paid addon service ultimately created more problems than it solved. The service was no longer visible in my account, I wasn't using it, I couldn't cancel the subscription myself, and I continued to be billed. I ultimately had to spend substantial time documenting the situation, contacting support repeatedly and disputing charges rather than simply clicking "Cancel Subscription." ### 2. The control panel is easy to use and lightweight, so I can quickly spin up new sites or manage existing ones without digging through complex options. Automated backups, SSL setup, and one-click installs save me a ton of time. The integration with OpenLiteSpeed feels fast and reliable, especially when traffic spikes. **What do you dislike about CyberPanel?** Sometimes, updates can be a bit sensitive, requiring extra attention when upgrading. Advanced settings for server configuration might need manual tweaks or command line work. Also, the community support is still growing, so when I hit rare issues, it can take a while to find solutions. **What problems is CyberPanel solving and how is that benefiting you?** It lets me manage multiple WordPress sites efficiently on Hetzner servers, handling tasks from basic maintenance to performance optimization. On paper, it offers a modern interface, automated SSL, WordPress management, and resource monitoring. • OpenLiteSpeed and LiteSpeed Enterprise integration • One-click application installation (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, etc.) • Automated SSL via Let’s Encrypt • Resource usage monitoring from the dashboard • Unlimited installs and domains in the free plan **What do you dislike about CyberPanel?** My experience with CyberPanel has been overwhelmingly negative. The platform is riddled with bugs and reliability issues. The so-called “one-click” WordPress installer consistently fails due to permission errors and missing dependencies, often turning a simple task into hours of troubleshooting. SSL automation is unreliable, with certificates frequently failing to validate and error messages that provide no actionable information. The email system is poorly implemented, spam filtering doesn’t work, and setting up DKIM/DMARC is unnecessarily complex, falling short even compared to other free panels. Support is another weak point. Even as a paying customer, responses are slow, generic, and often irrelevant. **What problems is CyberPanel solving and how is that benefiting you?** In my case, CyberPanel failed to solve any meaningful problems. Instead of streamlining server management, it introduced new headaches and risk. The instability, security flaws, and lack of reliable support made it impossible to trust the platform for anything beyond non-essential projects. ### 4. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review. **What do you like best about CyberPanel?** It's based on modern standards and technology. **What do you dislike about CyberPanel?** It has security issues. Control Panel itself is good. But the team who is maintaining not capable. I’ve been in IT for over 14 years, and I’ve never faced a data loss disaster of this magnitude. I lost everything 9 main sites and 8 on subdomains. And few under development projects.. Server was completely hacked. I and my team took it back but damage has been done. Because of CyberPanel’s weak security. Almost every CyberPanel user’s server get hacked. I tried to contact with support team. I gave server access to their 2 developers. But they did nothing. And they started disappearing with very minimal response like we are working, we need more time. And they started ask for backups. Because it’s been 5 days and still they are unable to fix it. Even patches they release not working. And they are trying to wipe everything and install fresh build and restore backups. Why people would need your assistance if everyone have latest/updated backups. Their recent response was we can’t fix it because files are encrypted due to malware attack. They are claiming on FB group they already helped 100 of servers. What helped? Restoring backups? Is this you guys helped? I think it is end of CyberPanel. There can be two reasons of this disaster/security leak They are not enough professionals and can’t handle it on big scale. Maybe one of their team member did this mischief It’s like CyberPanel is their part time project. Because it has never been stable. And they always blame cloud/service providers like contabo etc. I hope the CyberPanel team will learn form this incident because what happened at this time has caused huge damage to people’s businesses. I would not recommend CyberPanel in any case. Because I don’t want anyone else’s business to suffer the same way I did and other like me. Who they are still using CyberPanel. They must migrate to other panels. **What problems is CyberPanel solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's open source and free. It's good alternative of cPanel. ### 5.
