I dislike the operational friction around Crunchafi, not the lease-accounting output itself. Specifically, erroneous billing for the use of demo and clunky onboarding / contract workflow (the client signer did not receive the expected DocuSign timely, and the team had no visibility into what the signer received. The onboarding process could be as simple as just getting and signing the DocuSign, without repeated involvement). What I like most about Crunchafi is that it takes a complex, highly technical accounting standard and makes it practical and efficient to manage on an ongoing basis. The user interface is intuitive, so it’s easy to enter lease data, review assumptions, and move between entities and leases without a steep learning curve. The biggest value for me is the quality of the outputs. Crunchafi automatically generates amortization schedules, journal entries, and ASC 842 footnote disclosures that are audit-ready and easy to reconcile back to the general ledger. This has significantly reduced the time our team spends maintaining spreadsheets and manually preparing lease calculations. The system also provides a clear audit trail and revision history, which is especially helpful when working through renewals, modifications, early terminations, and other lease changes. I also appreciate the ability to collaborate with clients directly through the platform. Rather than exchanging multiple spreadsheets and supporting documents, our team and the client can work from a centralized dashboard. This improves communication, reduces version-control issues, and makes the overall lease accounting process more efficient. The newer AI-assisted data extraction capabilities are another meaningful enhancement. Being able to upload a lease and have key information extracted automatically speeds up lease setup and reduces manual data entry. While Crunchafi offers strong lease accounting functionality, there are a few areas where the experience could be improved. Over time, we’ve run into billing and account management issues that required extra follow-up to get resolved. Greater transparency and accuracy in billing would go a long way toward improving the overall customer experience. I’d also like to see more proactive lease management capabilities, especially automated notifications for upcoming renewals and other critical lease dates. Getting reminders well before renewal windows open would help us review active leases with clients, assess renewal options, and make informed business decisions before contractual deadlines arrive. That kind of functionality would add meaningful value beyond accounting compliance and make the platform feel like a more complete lease management solution. I find Crunchafi Lease Accounting really easy to use, which makes things simpler for our team. It's user-friendly and provides consistent reporting, which helps since most of our clients are using it. The software has enough features to perform calculations without being over-engineered and includes helpful links for more junior team members. It's clear and simple to navigate, and exporting data is easy if I need to adjust reports and sorting. I would love if there was a way to put in the details about the renewal period and just tick, include or exclude in the ROU asset and lease liability calculation. It would also be nice if it linked with QBO or SAGE, but I get that it's less expensive than others because it does not. Cheaper is more important in my book. As a non-profit with a single capital lease, the software takes what could be a complex and time-consuming process and automates it.
