# What event registration and ticketing software can a small events team set up without paying for an expensive implementation or outside consultant?

Hey G2 community, one of the more frustrating parts of evaluating event registration and ticketing software for small teams is that the demo looks simple, but then you find out getting it fully running requires professional services, a kickoff call with a solutions engineer, or at minimum a week of configuration work nobody budgeted for.

For a lean team where the person setting up registration is also the person running logistics and handling attendee questions, that implementation overhead can be a dealbreaker before you've even launched your first event.

A few platforms come up often in reviews from teams who set things up themselves, without outside help:

Jotform — Reviewers consistently describe getting forms built and live in minutes. The drag-and-drop builder, template library, and AI form builder are mentioned specifically as tools that remove the learning curve for non-technical users.

TicketSpice — Multiple small business reviewers say they had professional ticket pages running without needing any technical skills. At $0.99 per ticket with no subscription fee, there's also no cost to set up and test before you're ready to go live.

RegFox — Nonprofit and small org reviewers mention the intuitive setup and 7-day live support team as the combination that makes solo setup realistic. One reviewer said the platform's live support made her look like a "genius registrar" to her colleagues.

Eventbrite — Still the default starting point for a lot of small teams because the initial event creation requires almost no training. The tradeoff is that fees add up once you're past free-ticket events.

The self-serve setup question is pretty tightly linked to budget, since implementation costs often dwarf the software cost itself for smaller teams.

Have you set up event registration on your own, and which platform made that the least painful?

I've found from analysis of the category that the gap between a clean demo and a setup that needs a solutions engineer is exactly where small teams get burned. When the person configuring registration is also running logistics, a week of unbudgeted config is a real dealbreaker. Worth weighing self-serve setup and responsive support over feature depth you won't have time to use anyway.
