"CookieScript: Simple, Flexible Consent Management with Powerful Automation"
5/5
What do you like best about CookieScript?

What I like most about CookieScript is the excellent combination of simplicity, flexibility, and practical functionality. The UI / UX makes cookie consent management feel organized and approachable, while the banner customization options help create a professional experience that fits each website’s design. It brings essential tools together without making everyday management unnecessarily complicated.

The Integrations, particularly with Google Tag Manager, are especially valuable for connecting consent management with my existing website setup. Automated cookie scanning and consent-related alerts help highlight areas that need attention, making the platform useful beyond simply displaying a cookie banner.

In terms of Performance, I particularly appreciate the automation that makes routine cookie-management tasks more manageable. For Pricing / ROI, the strongest value is having scanning, banner customization, and consent-management tools in one place. As someone managing multiple websites, this combination is particularly appealing.

For Support / Onboarding, I value clear, practical guidance on setup and configuration, especially when working with more technical integrations. Regarding AI / Intelligence, my focus is on useful automation and actionable information from scans and alerts—the practical tools that help me understand what needs attention.

Overall, CookieScript stands out as a well-organized, flexible, and genuinely useful consent-management solution. It offers the control I need while keeping the visitor experience in focus. An excellent choice for website owners who appreciate both functionality and ease of use! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CookieScript?

The main area I would like to see improved is Support / Onboarding for more technical setups. I would appreciate clearer step-by-step guidance for Integrations with Google Tag Manager, as well as troubleshooting instructions for cookie scanning on websites protected by Cloudflare. Practical configuration checklists would make these tasks easier for users without a technical background.

From a Pricing / ROI perspective, I would also welcome more flexible multi-domain packages or volume discounts for businesses managing several websites.

These are suggestions for making the experience even better rather than major criticisms. My main priorities are simpler advanced configuration and better value when managing multiple domains. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable, easy cookie compliance across several Shopify stores"
5/5
What do you like best about CookieScript?

The best thing about CookieScript is how easy it makes cookie compliance across more than one website. We run three Shopify stores, and being able to manage each banner, its cookie scanning and its consent settings from one dashboard saves a lot of time.

The automatic cookie scanner is especially useful. It finds and sorts cookies with very little manual work, which matters because we regularly add marketing and analytics tags. Google Consent Mode v2 support was also simple to set up, so our advertising and analytics kept working properly while we stayed in line with UK GDPR and PECR.

The banner itself is very customisable. We could match it closely to our brand colours and typography, so it doesn't look like a generic pop-up on a luxury retail site. The consent logs also give us a clear audit trail if we ever need one.

Overall, it's reliable, good value and doesn't need constant attention once it's set up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CookieScript?

Managing several domains works well, but it would help to be able to apply banner design and settings changes to all sites at once rather than editing each one separately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"CookieScript PLUS: simple, complete, and clear annual pricing without hidden fees"
5/5
What do you like best about CookieScript?

CookieScript has become the solution we recommend to all our clients. In its PLUS version, the tool is both simpler and more complete than some competing solutions, while being cheaper. The annual pricing, without hidden fees or variable components, is a real plus for planning a compliance budget for the year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CookieScript?

Frequently, when purchasing the PLUS version, you need to contact support after payment because the premium features do not activate immediately and require human intervention. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Useful tools for managing cookies"
3.5/5
What do you like best about CookieScript?

- New banners ship with compliant defaults out of the box — "Decline all" is enabled and category pre-checking is off from the moment you create one. You don't have to know the rules to start from a defensible baseline.

- Google Consent Mode v2 is wired in by default, with sensible category mapping already set (ad_storage → Targeting, analytics_storage → Performance). Rejecting consent correctly propagates a denied signal to Google tags.

- Geo-targeting is granular — 298 entries covering countries plus all 50 US states, with an EU preset for one-click selection.

- The consent analytics view gives accept / decline / ignore rates directly, which makes it possible to reason about how banner design affects response rates.

- The automated scanner covered ~2,675 pages on our site and produced a usable cookie inventory.

- No domain lock on the banner script, so you can validate a configuration on a staging or test page before pointing production at it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CookieScript?

- The EU geo preset contains only the 27 member states. EU outermost regions — Réunion, Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Mayotte, Saint-Martin — are separate top-level entries, and Åland is too. GDPR applies fully in all of them, so relying on the preset silently leaves those visitors uncovered. They should either be in the preset or flagged in the UI.

- Script blocking only works on tags pre-written as type="text/plain" with data-cookiescript. Trackers a site injects dynamically at runtime aren't intercepted, so consent choices don't reach them. This is a significant limitation and deserves to be stated prominently in the setup flow, not buried.

- The default consent expiration of 30 days is too aggressive. It re-prompts visitors monthly and depresses consent rates. CNIL's guidance points to six months as best practice; that would be a better default. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cookie Script Makes Compliance Easy, with Great Support and Smart Scanning"
5/5
What do you like best about CookieScript?

I recently started using Cookie Script after a privacy specialist told me my previous solution wasn’t truly compliant. I’ve been really impressed by how easy it is to use, and the backend is clear, well organized, and straightforward to navigate.

The pricing is a bit steep in comparison, but it gives me peace of mind, and that’s what makes it worth it for me. Everything I needed to know was explained well, and whenever I reached out, support was responsive.

All of my tracking scripts were detected, and I was able to add custom information for each one. Being able to track consent clicks is also very important to me, and it worked like a charm.

I also checked for any performance loss, and even though the script is loaded from external sources, the impact seems very low.

Another feature I like is the automatic scanning: when the marketing agency adds another pixel, I get notified and can take action right away. Integration is very simple—honestly, it could be done by my grandma. Overall, it feels good to have a solution that’s clearly been thought through and makes it easier to keep the site compliant. What do you dislike about CookieScript?

There is nothing to dislike, I haven't found anything so far. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Integration but Lacks Human Support / Sales"
0/5
What do you like best about CookieScript?

I find CookieScript super easy to set up in Google Tag Manager, which is important for my agency. It has a really nice user interface with a lot of settings, making it a good tool overall. The easy integration with Google Tag Manager particularly stands out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CookieScript?

Their support is very hard to get by. You're always met with an AI chat, and you actually don't know when you're actually talking to a human or not. We also try to talk with them about the month-to-month pricing because we are buying for quite a lot of domains, and we would like some flexibility. But it's very hard to actually understand if they have a sales department or they don't, and how to actually talk to a human to try to figure out if we can make some kind of custom deal. Paying for a whole year upfront for domains that we do not use does not make sense. I'm okay paying for extra domains, but on a month-to-month basis, when I have some cost control there. "Easy Setup and Free Option for Low-Traffic Sites"
5/5
What do you like best about CookieScript?

I really like how easy it is to set up, and I appreciate having the option to run it for free when you don’t have a lot of traffic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CookieScript?

I’m not sure whether this is a technical limitation or something intended, but it doesn’t seem possible to edit the URL of the website where the cookie banner is inserted. Every time I need to change it, I have to delete everything and build it again from scratch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"CookieScript Makes Cookie Consent Management Simple and Easy"
5/5
What do you like best about CookieScript?

CookieScript is very easy to set up and manage. The interface is clear, the customization options are flexible, and it makes cookie consent management much simpler, especially on WordPress websites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CookieScript?

Overall, CookieScript works very well. The main downside is that some advanced customization and configuration options can take a little time to understand, especially when setting it up for the first time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"CookieScript Makes Compliance Effortless with Reliable Scanning and Clean Integration"
5/5
What do you like best about CookieScript?

What stands out most about CookieScript is how easy it makes something typically painful: compliance.

The platform is extremely straightforward to set up, even for non-legal or non-specialist users, and it handles complex requirements like GDPR, ePrivacy, and consent logging without turning it into a project of its own. The automatic cookie scanning is reliable and saves a lot of manual work, while the customization options (banner design, behavior, geo-targeting) are flexible enough to fit real-world product needs.

From a technical perspective, integration is clean and fast, with minimal impact on performance. From a business perspective, it reduces risk without slowing down development.

In short: it does exactly what it should, with zero friction—and that’s rare in this space. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CookieScript?

If I had to point out a downside, it would be that some advanced customizations and edge-case configurations aren’t as intuitive as the core setup.

While the basics are very easy to get running, when you need more granular control (for example, highly specific consent flows or complex multi-domain setups), the documentation could be a bit clearer and more structured. You sometimes end up digging around to fully understand how to achieve a specific behavior.

Also, the UI, while functional, could be more modern and streamlined in certain areas—especially when managing multiple projects or reviewing detailed reports.

That said, these are relatively minor trade-offs compared to the overall simplicity and effectiveness of the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"CookieScript: Fast Integration and Flexible Pricing for Every Client"
5/5
What do you like best about CookieScript?

What I appreciate most about CookieScript is how straightforward the integration is, it takes only a few minutes to deploy on a client site. On top of that, the pricing tiers are granular enough to match very different needs, from a small showcase site to a larger e-commerce platform. As an agency, this flexibility lets us recommend the right plan for each client without ever feeling we're pushing them toward an oversized package. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CookieScript?

My main frustration is the inability to mix different plans within a single account. As an agency managing multiple client sites with varying needs, we'd love to combine, for instance, a few Plus licenses with several Free or Basic ones under the same dashboard. Right now, this forces us into a more fragmented setup, separate accounts or uniform plans across clients which adds unnecessary administrative overhead. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
