Converting files to work in another application is very simple, and it doesn't seem to have a limit on the number of conversions you can do. I am constantly changing PDFs to JPGs and back with no issues. I admit I haven't used it much for the other type of file conversions, like for video or audio, but I have had no trouble with the conversions I have used it for.
