**What do you like best about Coderbyte?**

Coderbyte makes technical assessments easy to set up, track and review. The UI is straightforward, and the dashboard gives me candidate scores, start and completion dates, number of attempts and assessment links without too many clicks. Notifications when candidates submit assessments are also useful.

Performance has been reliable in my regular use, and the overall workflow saves time compared to handling technical screening manually. The available integrations also fit well into the hiring process. Onboarding is simple and doesn't require much time to understand the platform.

From an ROI perspective, the biggest value for me is the time saved in screening and reviewing candidates. The AI-assisted features are also useful for creating and evaluating role-relevant assessments, although I still prefer to review the results myself before making any decision.

**What do you dislike about Coderbyte?**

One area that could be improved is the reporting and comparison of candidates. I would like more flexibility to customize the dashboard and reports based on what I need for a particular role. Some AI-based insights could also provide more context around a candidate's approach instead of mainly focusing on the final score.  

Other area that could be improved is setting up coding tests where I need to provide boilerplate code and the candidate works in a VS Code-like environment. The setup is not very intuitive, and more guidance or a simpler user experience would make creating these assessments much easier.

**What problems is Coderbyte solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coderbyte helps us screen technical candidates in a more structured way before the interview. Instead of relying mainly on resumes and interview discussions, we can evaluate actual coding and problem-solving skills using role-relevant challenges. It saves time during screening, makes candidate comparison easier, and gives me useful areas to focus on during the technical interview.

**What do you like best about Coderbyte?**

For our use case, we use it for online assessments, tracking, and screening new candidates. 

Coderbyte is extremely well thought and well designed. 
It takes none to understand all the features and is really simple to have onboarding complete. It’s also really easy to dive into the details when needed.

Probably the best thing is all the necessary features are baked in and ready to use. Tons of great questions to pick from to quickly create an assessment or screening set, ability to add your custom challenges to your own library, session replays, evaluation helpers and fraud detection all runs smoothly in a seamless workflow. A lot of AI features are constantly added to help decrease time spent for hiring, eg: plagiarism detection.

We don't fallback to emails or any other tools for tracking as well, out of box integrations works great.

The ability to have this much feature in Pro pricing is really generous and deserves a kudos to all the team behind.

**What do you dislike about Coderbyte?**

When we are using Coderbyte to hire QA engineers, we didn't have the perfect out of box experience. We hire SDETs mostly and there can be more coding challenges suitable to SDETs (Software Development Engineer in Test) I think. 

Right now, we kind of force candidates to write unit tests or similar challenges when we need proof for their coding skills. It still works but I'm sure this area can be improved.

**What problems is Coderbyte solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For all of our hirings, Coderbyte is the only tool we use.
The only stage we don't use Coderbyte is CV review. After CV review, candidates are added to Coderbyte and everything is run from there start to finish.

We needed to track which candidate was at which state, different hires were also needed different tracking sheets and it was a mess before using Coderbyte. Now everything is seamlessly connected, all in one place and zero friction.

**What do you like best about Coderbyte?**

I like the ability to create assessments quickly from templates. The AI mode is also helpful. I love the fact that I am able to create fully customizable unit tests which I can assign custom scoring to. The default testing library is good.

Cheating detection and the fact that I am able to view the exact interactions between the candidate and the IDE post-assessment are extremely helpful.

The new AI Analysis tool for freeform questions is a very welcome addition, greatly helping us in creating niche interview questions for architect positions etc.

Pricing is good when compared to competitors.

Support is swift and very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Coderbyte?**

I don't like the fact that we don't get to know the exact pasted text by the candidate in freeform question reports, it makes it difficult to understand how deeply they've cheated.

There are some useful features locked behind additional data plans, but we can live without them. Email reminders for candidates is something that we should get into the basic plan, for example.

**What problems is Coderbyte solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Coderbyte mainly for pre-screening the candidates, before sending them to the final technical and PM interviews. It is greatly helping us, especially in areas where we don't have technical interviewers available. It allows us to recruit at scale.

Coderbyte has been a great fit for our technical hiring at Euverify. What I appreciate most are the assessments and the AI analysis features, since they allow us to evaluate candidates through real coding challenges rather than relying primarily on resumes or self-reported skills. **What do you like best about Coderbyte?**

Coderbyte has been a game changer for us. I’m a solo recruiter supporting all areas for a 300+ person company, and one of my biggest challenges is making sure that “real” candidates are the ones making it through the process, something that’s getting harder and harder every day.

I use Coderbyte Assessments for both software engineering and financial/analytical roles as the first, primary fraud gate candidates need to pass. The amount of time it has saved us, both in recruiting effort and in avoiding regrettable hires, has been significant. Their live interviewing tool is simple and intuitive, and it gives my interviewersl a lot of flexibility with very little ramp-up time to use the product effectively.

Their product support and leadership are just as strong as the product itself. Any time I’ve had a feature request or run into a random bug, I’ve received a response in less than an hour, often directly from their leadership team.

I like how easy it is to send assessments to candidates and access detailed reports. It also gives good visibility into the candidate’s activity, time spent, and overall test performance.

One thing I would improve is the ability to reject candidates who do not complete the test, with an option to add a short reason or comment. Currently, I have to remove them from the list instead.

I like Coderbyte because it's great for us. It's very simple and user-friendly, and I find the dashboard to be very clean and easy to navigate. It's really convenient to assess if people are cheating or copying code from the internet or using AI. I also appreciate that we can create our own tests or use ones from the library, which makes it super simple and useful for screening candidates effectively.

I would appreciate it if it was more explicitly stated that it's best to send the test links through Coderbyte. I haven't been notified when people have taken the test because I sent the link to their personal email instead of through Coderbyte. I realize that's user error, not a platform error, but clearer guidance would help.

The question preview should be improved. When I’m creating a question, I can’t clearly see how it will be shown to the candidate, and it’s not easy to add a new question in middle of interview. The integrations could be better with other tools.

What I like most about Coderbyte is how easy it is to create and manage coding assessments. The platform offers a wide range of programming challenges, supports multiple languages, and provides a clean interface for both recruiters and candidates. The customization options and automated evaluation make the hiring process much more efficient. Tool is hightly performant, with no hiccups with speed. It has really helped with onboarding of the new hires and streamline the process.

If I had to point out one area for improvement, it would be adding more customization options for assessments and expanding the AI-powered insights for evaluating candidate performance. I appreciate that Coderbyte automates part of the interview process, which helps our engineers save time. I also like the responsive Customer Service/Success team that always seems to be supportive. The ability to create our own assessments is very useful, allowing us to email the team to add new ones when needed. The best part is that we can build custom tests tailored to our exact tech stack, enabling candidates to solve real-world problems instead of generic riddles. Additionally, setting up and creating new challenges is pretty easy.

In today's world of AI, candidates can use this very easily on these types of challenges, so integrating AI into the challenges but also flagging when they've overused AI. The UI is simple and intuitive. It’s collaborative, easy to share with candidates, and just as easy to share the results with other screeners.

**What do you dislike about Coderbyte?**

The intelligence / syntax highlighting is often laggy or incorrect, causing candidates to get tripped up or distrust the error highlighting, slowing down the interview.

I like using Coderbyte because it's a good platform to conduct tests for applicants, and having the video solution at the end helps a lot. I appreciate that it hides paragraphs so users cannot easily take photos and feed them to AI, which I liked. The user interface is good, and the transitions are smooth. The initial setup was quite easy as well.

**What do you like best about Coderbyte?**

I use Coderbyte to take tests created by my employers and really appreciate how it helps in avoiding cheaters. I like the way results are presented, as it automatically creates a leaderboard with the results of all participants and provides an estimated accuracy if someone is cheating. The initial setup was quite easy for me since HR did it, so I only had to take the tests and view the results. Overall, I haven't come across any issues with the platform so far and would rate it a 10 out of 10.

Overall it makes setting up job assessments very easy, particularly for the type of roles that it has ready made assessments for.

I find Coderbyte very good in detecting issues such as plagiarism and cheating, which is a huge plus. It helps in evaluating coding tests seamlessly and provides clear scores. Also, I appreciate how it helps integrate with other tools for a more streamlined workflow. Setting it up was pretty easy, even for freshers. Coding interviews for campuses and its pricing compared to other products  make it a preferred choice.
