Clinisys is not suitable for Toxicology **Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2025 **What do you like best about Clinisys?** I can't offer plus sides considering the way Clinisys tried to force our lab into accepting an inadequate software switch from Apollo, then proceeded with shady end of contract changes. **What do you dislike about Clinisys?** No working QC Levy Jennings, software not built for Toxicology, unable to receive specimens and check sample information on same screen. Ultimately every process we were able to do easily in Apollo was going to take several additional steps to complete in Clinisys. Their favorite response to an issue? "We have a workaround for that". **What problems is Clinisys solving and how is that benefiting you?** Clinisys failed to solve the problems we have with the software, we are going with another company. ### 2. Does not look dated like other softwares. Pretty clear on functions **What do you dislike about Clinisys?** Software can act slow. When I’m trying to work quickly through the software there are delays which causes me to slow down on the work I’m doing. Also when ordering tests if you miss type an order you have to start all over again instead on adjusting that one test **Recommendations to others considering Clinisys:** Good software and easy to use. Does have its disadvantages but great to train people on. **What problems is Clinisys solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is easy to use and train on for new employees but speed is a problem ### 3. It is also unable to document a removal of one sample from a rack. **Recommendations to others considering Clinisys:** This is the best software I have used so far and would like to recommend to all laboratories setup to implement. **What problems is Clinisys solving and how is that benefiting you?** Allows me to quickly scan labs and provides safety in the clinical environment for patients. It has has increased our workflow in our facility. ### 4. Got a little quicker as I got more comfortable with the software but still not quite as fast processing TAT, especially when compared the the most recent, Meditech. **What problems is Clinisys solving and how is that benefiting you?** Much quicker/shorter training period for starting specimen processors and phlebotomists that are not accustomed to any EMR softwares yet. Easy to understand with users without strong medical background (fresh out of school). ### 5. There are multiple ways to do the same thing which makes learning easier for some people. The transition from another EMR was difficult for some of the staff but I believe it went smoother than some other transitions I've been through **What do you dislike about Clinisys?** There are some futures I thought were excessive and you had to click multiple times to get to where you want to go. **What problems is Clinisys solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our interface connects very well with Sunquest and reduces the amount of manual entry we have to perform this reducing errors and saving Tech time. ### 6. It was user-friendly and very easy to navigate through when trying to find patients/test information **What do you dislike about Clinisys?** I did not experience any difficulties with it. So I do not have anything to dislike **Recommendations to others considering Clinisys:** n/a **What problems is Clinisys solving and how is that benefiting you?** The only problems I solved with Sunquest LIS was locating patient information and test results to provide to doctors. Or requesting tests for specific patients. Its really easy to locate patients information through Sunquest since all the icons on the screen are together to allow an easy section of different programs ### 12. Inability to document a removal of one sample from a rack. **Recommendations to others considering Clinisys:** Previously I used Cerner Millenium which allowed easier cancelling of tests and adding comments to accessions. It also allowed the user to 'checkout' a sample indicating it had been removed from the previous routed spot but was not yet 'trashed'. **What problems is Clinisys solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ability to follow samples from satellite labs ### 14. Main thing that could use improvement was the sign in page. **What problems is Clinisys solving and how is that benefiting you?** Intaking of specimens was the main use, and the benefit was that it expedited that process. ### 15. It's very easy to track samples according to when they were logged in, client information, what batches they are added to and where they are at in our process. **What do you dislike about Clinisys?** I wish some of the acodes and test assigning was a little easier to access and assign to individual samples. **What problems is Clinisys solving and how is that benefiting you?** There really isnt anything we do in our lab that doesnt involve LIMS. From batching, moving, and tracking samples to doing all of our data review and a lot of our reporting to clients. ### 17. It does not change much from site to site. It is a good option to keep a standard way of working through other hospitals. It is straightforward and easy to use and learn. **What do you dislike about Clinisys?** It is not as customizable as other lab systems, which limits how much the lab can grow. **What problems is Clinisys solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's hard to have a standardized way of working when many groups are involved.
