Just being able to provide a link for software via dropbox and install it to multiple workstations saves time. Also the geofence feature is great. Anytime a workstation leaves out of the area you are notified immediately. **What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?** The remote desktop portion works but could be improved. It does not feel as snappy as other remote desktop softwares that I have used . **Recommendations to others considering Cisco Meraki:** Meraki is a very nice tool but the products that work with it is very expensive. **What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?** Meraki allows me to manage different switches, AP, and workstations all in one inteferface from setting up SSIDs to seeing what type of web traffic is very handy. ### 6. New features are added on a regular basis. It provides valuable insight into the devices we manage with it. **What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?** Like many cloud solution, there is a lack of granularity. **Recommendations to others considering Cisco Meraki:** This product has come a long way in the few years I have used it. It is a significant tool in our software library. It has helped recover many laptops that went "missing". We also use Meraki for wireless, so this solution was a free add in to our dashboard. You can monitor up to 100 devices free of charge whether you are a current Meraki customer or not. **What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use this device to push software to our company managed iOS devices. We also use the agents to keep track of inventory, including where loaner ipads, laptops have been, and who was the last one to access. It also helps with keeping an eye on the health of the devices. How much disk space is available etc. There are many security features we use as well. We can remotely wipe the device, lock the device. ### 7. You can license up to a 100 users for free and control app deployment, security settings, find device location by IP address, reboot the device, lock the device. Standard MDM stuff. I do think it's the most feature rich mobile device management system that I've tried - and I've tested out many. It's got a beautiful web UI, easy deployment to PCs, Macs, iOS or Android devices. **What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?** I think setting up automatic application deployment is not as easy as it looks. I ended up having to pay to get support and get some of my issues resolved. I think they could update it more, but it really does have a ton of features. I don't know what else they would add. There's a delay between installing the client and it fully registering with the system. That's my biggest beef. **What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?** I wasn't able to keep track of my fleet of machines before this. After I was able to catch employees attempting to steal, I was able to find and lock a machine after it got stolen at an airport, and I remotely troubleshoot issues much easier. ### 9. The system is easy to learn and tech support is great. **What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?** Some of the options for locking down iOS devices is lacking. Separation for security policies for iOS and Android needs work. **Recommendations to others considering Cisco Meraki:** It's good, pricy for the paid version but it gives us good control. The ability to lock to a webpage remotely was also a very useful feature. **What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?** We primary used the free version of the device manager. Meraki stopped supporting that version which permanently locked devices that were locked when that switch occured. CS was also not helpful or sympathetic at all. Such as more detailed firewall rules. However I believe that the logging would be a better option. A lot of that is taken care of by Meraki on the back end. Excellent build quality. so you have access to the administration of these devices anywhere and anytime you have internet. **What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?** If you ever stop paying you lose access to your devices, Meraki is like the mafia of the networking vendors - pay up or we'll wack your network. Trying to fit into existing infrastructure can be difficult.
