There may be some long cases where the support team gives us a temporary solution. PS gives us the actual reason, remedy and recommendations. Several cases may be linked to a root cause, and PS quickly finds it. PS have access to internal knowledge DB. I like the elasticity of PS; we can stretch the timeline and working hours. If you are making significant security projects or plans, conduct an architectural review before starting the project. The Check Point Consulting team was professional and understandable to the needs of my company. The project took about 4 month, including the hardware shipping. Now we rely on the Check Point support services, which covers the ability to open the cases for both failed hardware (with replacements) and inquires about software issues. **What do you like best about Check Point Infinity Global Services?** There are really professional engineers in the Check Point Consulting team, and obviously they had much more projects than our in-house team, and we felt that. Their experience helped in the right capacity planning (now our NGFW are utilized on about 65%, which is sufficient, but also allows for the future growth) and time management for implementing the planned architecture of the project. **What do you dislike about Check Point Infinity Global Services?** The overall price of the project, including the consulting services and support, was not cheat at all. Now we rely on the Check Point support services to cover the potential hardware failures and unforeseen software issues, but we have not used it even once yet, and hopefully we will not. The Check Point NGTP is the core security solution we implemented to protect our company's datacenter - now we have 8 of them across the globe, with over 700+ servers and 80+ pieces of networking and storage equipment. **What do you like best about Check Point Infinity Global Services?** The Check Point team helped us with planning the topologies of the environments, estimating the compute resources needed based on the number of the protected servers and users, and matched that with the hardware. The hardware was sent to us according to contract, without any delays and not damaged, so no problems here. The equipment configuration was made by the in-house team (we have several certified professionals), but with consulting with the Check Point Support, which seemed really professional and helpful as well. **What do you dislike about Check Point Infinity Global Services?** We have to rise several support tickets during the onboarding of the hardware appliances in our datacenters, but all of them were connected with software issues. We used the Check Point Enterprise Based Protection service for planning and implementing the security infrastructure of our datacenters, and now we are the client of the Enterprise Standard Support service - that provide us the access to the centralized knowledge base, ability to open the cases directly to the Check Point Support team, and covers the hardware failures of the appliances we use. The Check Point solution in general are robust and reliable, but sometimes overpriced even for the tough security solutions market, so it is like Apple in the area of security. Essentially just buying their software. This also will help keep the performance high throughout the years after updates, as we have them on proper servers, not celeron / i3 processors. They license by core, so get a powerful processor with fast but few cores to save money. **What do you like best about Check Point Infinity Global Services?** We have been running checkpoint here for a long time and there is good and bad with it. Its security rating is one of the highest, its GUI for management is great, and its log tracker "SmartLog" makes it incredibly easy and fast to obtain the info you need when researching problems or pulling up information. **What do you dislike about Check Point Infinity Global Services?** Its very expensive, pricing models change it seems every renewal, overly complex quoting process that sometimes makes little to no sense. Support is hit or miss, trying to license the product after buying or simply renewing mine as well require a PHD. When you call support they have a team dedicated just to licensing problems so that tells you something. Also we dislike the very weak hardware appliances they sell as most of them after just a year of updates get so bogged down they can hardly run efficiently. Installing policies becomes a 20 minute wait for a bar to finish task just to modify a single rule. This process should be made easier / faster. So the problem we run into is simply every year the newer versions of software chew through hardware resources quite a bit so it forces you to keep upgrading or live with a horrible experience managing the firewall on a day to day basis. I could go on but you get the point.
