The Chartmetric "Artist Rank" metric gives me a daily read on how our artists are performing across the spectrum of DSPs, social media, YouTube and digital airplay. Sometimes, there is a lag time between the release of a new single and when that song begins to appear in the overall metrics and rankings. It would be great to see the updates in real time. Those two reporting services gave you over-the-counter retail sales and radio airplay numbers. Today, there are myriad services to track to have a clear understanding of how your artist is performing. Chartmetric is a valuable tool especially if you are in a band! This helps you, the artist, gather data in an efficient manner. I use this often whenever my band has a release and this tool has been valuable ever since my first time using Chartmetric. What I dislike is the authenticity of the data. Sometimes I'm not sure if a certain artist is actually perfoming at the level that the data is saying. I would like to see someting that flags the data as not real because if I am researching an artist, I want to make sure that there are real people supporting him or her.
