The best thing about Carbon Black Cloud is that it is easy to install and provides good protection to the digital infrastructure

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

I could not carry on with a proctored exam as VMware Carbon Black Cloud would not stop running in the background. Had to uninstall and reinstall the software.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work at a startup where we handle a significant amount of data for a number of clients. Hence it becomes imperative that we have the best protection against malware attacks and also provides strong endpoint security.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dhaval S. | Consultant, Construction, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

This tool is not upto the mark of any other tools especially for Windows machine where Microsoft Defender is already gaining lot of popularity due to its native windows tool.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

This tool really requires lot of customisation to be user friendly and should compatible with Microsoft operating systems, also lack of Dashboard is another major issue.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is really in testing phase for us as of now, So it is not serving any production usage for now. However we are looking for it as optional of Microsoft Defender in near future

  ### 5. Advanced security solution for businesses. Complete workload protection from VMware !

No problem has been encountered so far. One of the most advanced and stable security solutions for IT businesses and devices. It transforms the security design of the organization and its client servers and IT devices without much hassle. The trial version should be further extended with more offering of customized features. More and more tech-friendly and affordable security features should be added soon.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 6. A capable EDR solution for businesses of all sizes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Carbon Black Cloud solution is an incredibly robust and capable EDR solution. I appreciate the instant malware search abilities in the Admin portal. It allows you to click a link that contains all the threat vectors and immediately scans your entire network for the threat. It also has an in-depth investigation section that you can use to track the history of a file to determine how it got into your network. The standard policies it has built-in are hardened but they allow you to tweak them for your company needs.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Carbon Black Cloud is a complex solution at times. If you are not a full-time security admin, the solution can be overwhelming. Beyond the initial setup and configuration, their support team will point you to their community for answers, which can leave you frustrated.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

If you are already a Dell/VMWare customer, you won't regret staying in the family. Carbon Black Cloud is a very robust EDR solution that has a lot of features (although sometimes overwhelmingly so).

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A full EDR solution was required from our insurance to satisfy our cyber protection policy. We are already a VMWare/Dell shop so it made sense to bring in their EDR solution.

  ### 7. Vmware Carbon Black Cloud

VMware Carbon Black is an End Point tool with a high level of ease of use, adjustable, admiringly enriched UI for reports.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Support needs more improvement, there should be interactive chat with an Increased level of SLA for user ease.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping me in the detection and presentation of malicious objects in an enterprise environment, end point machines and servers.

  ### 8. Industry leading threat prevention.

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2020

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Carbon Black offers a feature called Live Response that enables IR teams to quickly access an infected host, push/pull data for forensic analysis and remediate an infection. This is particular useful for ransomware.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Carbon Black markets the product has a high efficacy against advanced attacks. The reality is far from that truth much like most other endpoint security software.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ransomware.

  ### 9. Excellent Cloud Enterprise Security Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Itumeleng T. | IT Support Specialist, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Carbon Black Cloud Endpoint is a fantastic security solution to use within your IT infrastructure, it protects against malware, virus, zero-day threats and much more.
You can manage profiles of each assets and set their profiles accounting tho various policies

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Carbon Black Cloud Endpoint tends to block genuine applications and processes even WSUS doesn't seem to have any luck whenever you run Windows updates; I think there could be a better implementation in its coding to learn and distinguish between good and harmful code within programs.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On a broader scale, though, Carbon Black Cloud Endpoint is a vastly excellent cloud security solution for small or large businesses that are looking into minimizing security threats and making sure their network infrastructure does not get compromised at all.

  ### 10. All about Carbon Black

GUI,Light weight agent & Easy to deploy.

  ### 11. A Great Next Gen Antivirus That Actually Works

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris B. | IS, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

I love the visibility that it gives into your endpoints. You can see what happened before and after an attack was stopped which helps put together the whole story. I also like the idea of "streaming prevention", where its not just "good" or "bad" but if a good file tries to do something bad, it will also detect that.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

It is in the cloud, so the console keeps changing and sometimes its hard to find things. Once you get used to it, it might change again.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

Always do a Proof Of Concept to make sure it fits well with your environment.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visibility into the endpoint is huge for us. It also has been better performance wise on Windows 10 devices than having Defender enabled.

  ### 12. Cb Defense makes it possible to achieve high protection without sacrificing usability

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

With Cb Defense you have complete visibility on what happens on your endpoint. This product also automatically detect malicious activity based on various TTP (Tactics, Techniques, Procedures) used by threat actors. Cb Defense allows us to define a granular protection policy that can be customised for our unique environment. For example, you can even choose to block all unknown application from running or just blocking them from connecting to Internet.

Cb Defense also offer third party integration through API. Most of its core function can be accessed through this API. This makes so easy to integrate Cb Defense with your other security solution.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

While the granular protection policy is very useful to balance protection and usability, it can be hard to define a policy. You need an experienced security analyst to do this. As of September 2019, Cb Defense does not have a comprehensive reporting capability.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before we implement Cb Defense, we don't have enough visibility on our endpoints. We also have problem defining protection policy that work best with our environment. The previous endpoint security simply do not allow us to that easily. We even end up turning off several protection capabilities to avoid disruption in our services.

  ### 13. Carbon Black is the best there is.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dakotah J. | IT Systems Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

I love being able to deep dive into my endpoints/servers to see exactly what is going on, what users are doing, and what processes are being run. It helps me determine what applications and processes need to be whitelisted or blacklisted in my environment and allows me to actually report with througrough information on what is happening on our company endpoints.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Deployment. It takes some doing to get used to deploying the Cb Defense sensor. I understand the reasoning for using a script to install and inject your company information, but I would like an easier approach other than having to stage the app and a script to actually install the app. Currently, I use a conjunction of MDM tools and AWS S3 to push which is the easiest method I've found so far.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

Be sure that you have a dedicated team to managing Cb Defense. It is not manageable in a larger environment by just a couple of people.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I come from more a wild-west sprint environment where we were not always sure what and where things were running. Cb helped me solve these problems by searching, gathering information, and compiling reports on the apps, services, scripts, code, processes and everything else that is running. This led us to be able to identify what user behavior we wanted to stop and it allowed us to stop it.

  ### 14. Relatively new customer

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

The visibility on the endpoints compared to the previous anti-virus software we had. The ability to go interactive or quarantine a suspicious system. The capability to track and protect a system both on and off the enterprise network.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

The updates to the sensors and cloud platform are not very predictable. The sensors have had some pretty glaring issues that should have been caught in testing. Seems like more development is going into Threat Hunter than the Defense product.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

CB Defense is a good tool, but you definitely need to test the sensors before deploying them. It gives much better visibility and control over traditional anti-virus systems. There are some growing pains with the new technology, but it will leave your organization in a more secure place.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fewer systems to login to in order to get the details from endpoints in the event of an alert. Greater visibility around our systems and improved workflow.

  ### 15. Great protection, easy to manage

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan M. | Manager, Security Operations, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

We can create really customize policies for any of our unique groups of users across the organization.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Inconsistent timelines for new sensor releases

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

Test before you buy, I've found a lot of people are surprised on how to configure policies and what to do with the data they are getting.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were able to replace a traditional AV with Cb Defense and have continued to have success with each business unit as we build custom policies as needed.

  ### 16. Effective Malware Defense

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cheyenne H. | Director of Information Technology, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

CB Defense does a great job of stopping all types of known and unknown malware! It is pretty easy to configure too!

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

CB has had some trouble with support and a bunch of issues with their sensors. They have been getting better, more stable releases.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

It is a great product if you are experienced with security or how malware infects your endpoints.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CB Defense has completely replaced legacy AV and stopped Ransomware and fileless malware.

  ### 17. Carbon black saved the day!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy W. | Technology Security Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Immediate value on the endpoint. Much better than legacy AV.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

The only downfall is sometimes the dashboard gets sluggish or has a bug with an update. Other than that the product and the value are tremendous.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

Don't wait to deploy a NGAV. It is a crucial part of any functioning security stack.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CB Defense has prevented ransomware on multiple occasions and helped our team identify existing malware on the endpoints.

  ### 18. Easy to manage

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

CB Defense is a small install and provides accurate insight into user's activities

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Sometimes it can be difficult to locate settings in the admin panel.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

Be sure to take advantage of implementation services and trainings.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were in desperate need of an AV/AM solution and Carbon Black Defense was quick to roll out and easy. Our users and clients have felt more secure.

  ### 19. A free FTE in every box!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

The ability to see the full life cycle of the file/attack and any lateral movement. But more importantly, the User Exchange puts experts from Incident Response companies and MSSP's at your disposal like a cool toy in every cereal box! You don't even have to be all that smart to see the latest threats and what they are doing to stop them.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

I can't think of a single thing that I dislike.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

Follow the guidelines from the User Exchange on implementation and you will have success.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

System security.

  ### 20. Switched to Cb Defense - An excellent decision

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie M. | Systems Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

It's cloud based and easily manageable. They provided plenty of educational material and reference, and worked with us directly during and after implementation to ensure success and satisfaction.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

I haven't run into anything yet that I'm not liking. It's been solid, responsive, and provides more than enough insight, metrics, and endpoint control, as well as deployment options.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

I highly recommend them. Based on value, features/functionality, and ease of use, as well as the support and attention we were provided for a successful deployment. I really can't say we ran into many (if any) roadblocks or 'bumps' along the way, and in production.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This protects our user endpoints and provides in-depth information and methods to handle potential threats. It's intuitive and has been a pleasure to use. The dashboard is also informative, easy to access, and gives plenty of both control, and insight.

  ### 21. Defend with Defense

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

The insight gained into the endpoints. It helps with hunting, investigating/response, and even troubleshooting.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

There are some hiccups that we went through, but you find that with any product.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

Take your time to fully vet the vendors you are looking into. Defense give you a lot, so, if you're leaning towards another vendor, ensure you are getting at least what they (Defense) have to offer.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Better insight into the endpoint and strengthening the protection of the endpoint.

  ### 22. Great Efficiencies gained - no more re-imaging!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** linda m. | Head of Information Security, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

We implemented CB a year ago and since then we have almost entirely eliminated the need for re-imaging machines due to malware. Huge time saver for IT and our employees as we have a large remote work force. CB also enables us to quickly identify and remediate malware faster than before

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

We have had the product about a year and we currently do not have any dislikes

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

easy to use, easy to deploy, easy to manage

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have greatly reduced malware in our environment and have greater zero day protection

  ### 23. CB Defense takes AV to the next level

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff K. | Senior IT Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

We recently converted our AV over to Carbon Black Defense and have been nothing short of impressed. Cloud analytics along with the ability to stay on top of zero day attacks take this product the next level. They've really thought this one through as they've implemented a good/better/best approach for their policies within CBD. We worked our way through each of those levels until we were at the best level and I can say that I do feel like it helps tremendously. There are some times you have to go in and whitelist something but I'd rather have it that way than the potential alternative.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Occasionally you can see some latency when monitoring the service due to it being in the cloud. We've had some issues rolling this product out into our Citrix Xenapp environment. It appears we are the first xenapp customer for them so they've been working with us to get through some of the initial slowness during logins.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

We utilized the installation team and that helped tremendously as they worked with us for 8 weeks while setting up and implementing into our environment. We tightened down the settings gradually. I would seriously consider their guidance for implementation.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are tightening down our controls and environment by integrating a product such as defense into our infrastructure. I've already noticed how many more situations have been prevented than that of our previous AV provider.

  ### 24. Easy to use cyber security for anyone

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Wholesale | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Super easy installation process, simple to set up for all employees of a mid-size company(200-250)
On the UI end, it's just as simple to use. The icon and program run in the background and no clunky pop-ups.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Not much so far. Would need a little more use time.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a small company looking for a not so expensive security option. CB defense filled the void perfectly.

  ### 25. Next-Gen AV

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher M. | Systems Administrator, Food Production, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2017

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

I like that CbD is constantly improving it's threat detection and prevention.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

There's not much I dislike about it so far. The few challenges I've faced are not having a static set of IP addresses to permit workstations through the firewall, and configuring the sensor to use a proxy. We ended up using a forward proxy to mitigate the issue with the dynamic range of servers. If you implement a proxy, after you've installed CbD, you'll have to reinstall the agent in order for the endpoint to utilize the proxy, because it currently has to be configured at the time of install.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

This isn't a set it and forget AV solution, so make sure you're able to commit to spending time analyzing, tuning, and updating the system.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CbD offers protection from traditional file-based threats, but we haven't seen much of that for some time now, which is why we decided to migrate to a new solution. It offers much more control over an endpoint than traditional anti-virus. Most of the malware we're seeing comes in the form of scripts and macros that call upon other processes to deliver payloads, and this all happens in flash memory without dropping a file on the hard drive. CbD allows you to really control what applications can call on other processes, and tighten up your security as much as you'd like.

  ### 26. Lightweight endpoints that protect and block from internet toolbars to zero-day exploits.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kurt M. | Cybersecurity Network Adminsitrator, Sports, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2017

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

The endpoints are extremely lightweight and easy to deploy and upgrade via the GPO and the console. For the amount of protection you get there is very little network traffic and the footprint on endpoints is minimal.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Documentation after installation could be much improved. The amount of data is overwhelming if you need to research a potential issue. It takes someone who knows what they are looking at/for to diagnose the information efficiently.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While managing the system can be daunting to most system administrators, getting the system running with default settings provides greater protection than most anti-virus solutions out there today. I am less worried about potential 0-day and malware file executions with CB Defense in place because it stops these malicious actions before they can even think about executing files or launching other programs.

  ### 27. CB Defense

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2017

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Cb Defense gives administrators the ability to really customize the security experience for users or groups that may require different security standards.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Occasional disagreement on how some software is classified as suspected malware, but the support team is very helpful in investigating further to reclassify.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

My recommendations to anyone is to test, thoroughly test your business cases and compare to the competitors, this will be the best way to discover if this is a solution that fits your environment.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are enhancing our ability to protect against ransomware, apt groups and 0-day attacks. The additional benefit is that we have greatly enhanced our visibility into our endpoints and can get a better understanding of what users have installed and what is running on these machines.

  ### 28. NGAV That Allows You to Sleep Well at Night

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher S. | Information Security Engineer III, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2017

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Insight into processes and the attack vector that makes the workstation vulnerable to 0-day and APT threats. Trusting a known legitimate source throws the end user off their game and could allow these sorts of threats inside the organization. Cb Defense allows us to not worry about these since the activity will be denied or the application terminated. The workstation agent is easy to deploy within the organization. When there is an issue support is very reactive and communicates well. They actively want to solve any issues that take place and make sure that we are happy. Because it's a cloud based solution any devices outside of our internal network can still be protected while in the wild.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Reporting leaves something to be desired; there aren't any nice canned reports for C levels to see why they spent the money where they did without having to send to a SIEM. The interface will be receiving an overhaul soon and looks to be a good upgrade from the current release, but the current release doesn't make it very easy to see where the threat hooked in or to follow the path of ingress. While deploying the agent is good, the management of the enrolled device could use some work. The agent, at least with background scan enabled, does eat a good amount of ram.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

I recommend this product to others, knowing the company behind the product is committed to this security space and the customers they support.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our issue, as well as most, are 0-day and APT threats to be neutralized before they have a chance to make any impact on the network or customer information. Having Cb Defense allows us to be in-line with best practices and regulations. Our customers can be safe knowing their information is secure.

  ### 29. Cb Defense is great and continues to improve

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric S. | Senior Manager of IT, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2017

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Cb Defense is easy to deploy and manage. It detected all of my AV tests.
The reporting features are great for when you need to investigate an alert.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

They had some issues with whitelisting at first that have been resolved. This caused a lot of false positives.
They also need to improve the speed of sensor updates.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is providing NGAV protection for all endpoints. It was simple to deploy and manage. Reporting is great too.

  ### 30. Great product in theory, but needs some bugs worked out

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

I like the depth in which CB Defense checks applications and files.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

The product is having problems determining what is a real threat.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

Wait a bit. I believe they will get the bugs worked out.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CB Defense is our anti virus solution for all of our laptops

  ### 31. Simple, Easy, & Sometimes Effective

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2017

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Great and highly engaged team during implementation and evaluation. Worked with us to address questions/concerns. Very hands on for usage instruction. Support team is great (very responsive, tries best to get a good resolution), however starting to get more into the point to documentation style rather than providing solid responses.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Support is starting to migrate to a point to the documentation style. Platform also has started seeing some operational / stability problems. Slow dashboards, slow notifications, etc. All issues have been reported, but they have been recurring more frequently of late.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

Be sure that it provides sufficient visibility. We selected the solution because of the simple deployment and easy operation, but it does lack some of the granular hunting/investigation tooling that other tools are. Be certain on what you are hoping to get out of the solution. It is not a true EDR platform, but is a nice mix between EPP and EDR.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to manage, next gen protection against malware and other security based attacks. It is definitely easy to manage, and protection is decent. Visibility into investigation on alerts could be a bit better, but is better than traditional AV solutions by far.

  ### 32. The first steps into a more security solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark F. | Information Security Analyst, Telecommunications, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2017

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

I like that the product's detection methods are based on indicators that pop up before and during exploitation.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Some of the decommissioning mechanisms could be better.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have addressed remote users with this solution as well as increased visibility into endpoint use within our environment.

  ### 33. Carbon Black Response is Fantastic

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2017

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

I love the process search. Specifically the ability to pivot from a search to looking at modules loaded and what is the parent or grand parent. It is all right there.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

The amount of history that is available. Also that the larger that you get the most cost prohibitive it becomes.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

Tie CB into as much as you can. The more integrations that you have the bigger the payoff.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Threat hunting, incident response, and overall network hygene

  ### 34. This is a NGAV that will prevent most of the unknown malware

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2017

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

It collects information about the behavior of the applications and apply its algorithms to detect bad behavior.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

It needs lot of effort to tune it properly at the beginning. Most of the detections were based on reputation (therefore signature) and some non signature were false positives, however the products shows a great potential.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

Measure time required for tuning, false positive, rate between detections base on signature/reputation vs behavior analysis

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ransomware, unkown malware

  ### 35. Great AV product replacement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2017

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

The ability to stop process elevation and this product has great in memory exploit protection.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

There is no federated console for the other CB tools. For companies that use multiple CB tools have multiple consoles to log into and manage.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbon Black Cloud:**

I would Recommend CB Protection as this tool will soon be able to replace AV per PCI

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is to replace AV and provide next gen AV protections

  ### 36. Only from review perspective

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2017

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Offers the ability to threat hunt and provides action to prevent attacks. Proactive approach vet reactive approach.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Needs to.continue to cover additional edr capabilities.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None at this time still in review

  ### 37. Great whitelisting - with flexibility

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whitelisting which helps prevent viruses/malware

  ### 38. A powerful next gen AV

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Investment Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2017

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

It is easy to deploy to hundreds of hosts, little to no compatibility issues with other software. Intelligence feeds which are one of the best in the industry.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Issues that arise usually take more then usual to get fixed. I feel that CB should perform more testing in a testing environment before rolling out major updates.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides proper AV and macro protection on endpoints which are the point of entry for attackers. The ability to see trends, reports and analyze threats that might have been hidden before CB defense.

  ### 39. Carbonblack Defense offers fantastic protection.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Investment Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2017

**What do you like best about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Next generation AV protection against todays advanced threats.

**What do you dislike about Carbon Black Cloud?**

Console is a little behind but is catching up fast.

**What problems is Carbon Black Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to solve the amount of time analysts spent on investigating security incidents. We realized that we can reduce the amount of time spent investigating these incidents and spend more time improving our other security controls.
