5/5
What do you like best about Canopy?

Canopy makes it easy to coordinate and communicate - the two most pivotal aspects of making our work efficient and effective. I also ADORE the workflow options, their support team is AMAZING and if you have an update request - it sometimes feels like all you have to do is ask! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canopy?

We utilize QBO for our accounting software internally and the integration with Canopy isn't perfect. It works - but there are glitches. They're aware of them and based on our previous experience with how they address issues - I fully expect them to do everything they can to make that integration top knotch. "Great CRM and Practice Management System"
5/5
What do you like best about Canopy?

What I like best about Canopy is how well it streamlines our day-to-day operations. The workflow tools help keep engagements organized and moving efficiently, the automated billing saves significant time and reduces manual errors, and the document management makes it easy to keep client files organized and accessible when we need them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canopy?

My main frustration with Canopy is the lack of a Xero integration — we'd benefit from that connectivity. I also find the related accounts feature clunky and not as intuitive as it could be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Task Management and Organization with Canopy"
5/5
What do you like best about Canopy?

Canopy has made tax workflow much more organized and efficient for our team. The interface is user-friendly, client communication tools are helpful, and document management keeps everything in one place. It’s streamlined a lot of our tax prep and practice management processes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canopy?

One downside to Canopy is that some features can feel a bit slow or overly complex at times, especially during onboarding. The pricing can also add up quickly as you add more modules and users Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Calendar Integration and Simple Automations Make Client Management Easy"
5/5
What do you like best about Canopy?

I like the calendar integration and the simple automations. Being able to automatically request information from clients is especially helpful. It makes that part of managing client work easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canopy?

The budgeted-hours feature hasn’t been intuitive for me. I’m still having a hard time figuring out how to set it up and use it effectively. Clearer instructions or examples would help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Client Collaboration, but ACH Fees Add Friction"
5/5
What do you like best about Canopy?

I really like that the portal is easy for my clients to use, and I like the e-signature feature. Communication with clients is great. I value the files and invoicing, the salesperson was good, and the initial setup was fairly easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canopy?

I don't care for the ACH charges to us as employers; I don't understand why they can't still be $1.00 or nothing. I also don't especially care for the change to the client's home page, since I can't see everything there and have to go to Edit Client to see the DOB and more phone numbers. "All-in-One Simplicity with Client-Centric Portal"
5/5
What do you like best about Canopy?

I really appreciate Canopy because it's an all-in-one platform that provides simplicity for our firm. It combines time and billing, file management, a client portal, and additional features like tax resolution and automation. The portal is much easier for us and our clients, allowing clients to see and pay invoices online instead of in person or over the phone. I find the recurring billing feature very helpful, as well as the organizational benefits from the files section. Though we haven't used the tax resolution and automation features yet, we're excited to try them. Overall, the transition from Practice CS is already showing huge differences in how Canopy will benefit us and our clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canopy?

I would like to be able to move files that have been uploaded to a personal account to the business account and sometimes vice versa. When I go into the client files, I see where the client uploads some business documents under their personal name by mistake. Instead of moving the documents from the inbox to the personal file tab, I'd like to move them to the business files section instead to keep the two entities separate. "Best tool we have implemented for our business"
5/5
What do you like best about Canopy?

East set up for our clients. We can get all docs we need from and to the client using the portal. Pulling transcripts is very easy as it connects you to the IRS CAF Unit and give great reports. Shows when we can ask for a First Time Penalty Abatement - downloading transcripts is quick and convenient. We put them on weekly updates and with a click we are in the clients account and can see all tax liability and any info we need for our case and to make sure no action like levies or liens sneaks up on us. We set up task and subtasks and assign to different team members - reminders are set for cases and deadline dates. Billing is easy - and putting in time has timer or you can set the time. Invoicing is easy as well and can connect to QB. All team members can see what task needs to be completed and our clients can see any updates we add to the account. You can set different resolution cases and send client survey for the client to fill out for a financial analysis or any form you need to be filled out - it will pull all the info off the client survey and add to any form you work on. This save a lot of time. We love Canopy Tax!!! You should so make this a part of your SOP. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canopy?

I like the classes they offer I just feel like they should take their time- and spread-out what tools we can use and how to use them. It is so packed with so much stuff that we can't keep up with how to use the new tool and they are quick in showing you how to use it because they have so much to offer. "All-in-One Canopy: Email, Messaging, Automations, and Billing in One Place"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Canopy?

I really like how nearly every tool I need is incorporated into Canopy. It handles the email, client messaging, questionnaires, task automations, and billing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canopy?

I wish it would: 1) Integrate with Quickbooks Desktop (I don't use online), 2) Incorporate a PoS card reader OR a virtual terminal into the billing so that I don't have to use PayPal for my PoS, 3) Allow me to drop screenshots directly into email without having to do them as attachments. "Transforms Client Management with Ease"
5/5
What do you like best about Canopy?

I like how everything is centralized, and I get real-time notifications whenever a task is created or a client responds to a message, which saves me time. The ease of use and the extensive learning catalog are great, allowing me to learn quickly whenever I encounter something new. Canopy University has been indispensable for helping our firm transition from PracticeCS. I also like that Canopy just needed reports from PracticeCS to upload our clients' information, making the setup quite hands-off for us. It's also great that it's connected to my Outlook mail and calendar. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canopy?

Transitioning from another software can take time learning the differences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible, Fast Workflows That Adapt to Your Needs"
5/5
What do you like best about Canopy?

The platform enables workflows to be as efficient and fast as needed. It is a flexible ecosystem that adapts to your unique requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canopy?

While the platform is very robust from a numerical and reporting perspective, adding a feature to automatically total already grouped profiles would be a valuable enhancement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
