I manage social media for a few small business clients, so I save a lot of posts and ideas. What I like most is that I can create my own tags instead of using fixed categories. I tag content by things like founder stories, before and after, objections, or seasonal topics. This makes it easy to find ideas later and see which types of content perform best

**What do you like best about buzzabout?**

I run social for a few small business clients, mostly solo, so my swipe file is where I spend most of my time. What I like most is that I can organize content using my own tags instead of fixed categories.

I collect posts and comments for each client, then tag them with angles I care about like founder story, before and after, objection handling, or seasonal. buzzabout then sorts and charts everything based on those tags. It makes it easy to explain why certain content works because I can show it with actual breakdowns instead of guessing.

**What do you like best about buzzabout?**

I run the data side of a performance agency, and the part that won me over is boring in the best way: it gives us one clean place to pull social data from instead of a dozen brittle feeds. We had built our own scrapers over a couple of years, one for Reddit, one for YouTube comments, a paid feed for X, plus a few point tools nobody fully remembered how to maintain. Every time a platform changed something, one of those pipes broke and a junior analyst lost a morning to it.

With buzzabout I point a project at the keywords and profiles a client cares about, it pulls the posts and the comments under them, runs the analysis, and I pull that out through their single social data API into our warehouse. So the thing I actually like is that the collection and the first pass of analysis happen before the data ever lands in our tables. It arrives structured, not raw.

The keyword research side is also genuinely useful day to day. I can sketch out the terms and adjacent phrases a client's audience actually uses across platforms, see which threads and videos those land in, and feed that straight into how we plan campaigns.

The API docs are fine once you know the shape of a project, but they lag a little behind the product. A couple of fields I pull showed up in responses before they were clearly documented, so I had to poke at the payload and confirm with their team rather than just reading. Not a blocker, and support answered fast, but I'd have shipped our first sync a day sooner with tighter docs.

Two problems. First, maintenance drag. Our in-house scrapers were a tax we paid every week, and the more platforms a client wanted covered, the worse it got. Moving that to one source means my team stopped firefighting broken collectors and started doing actual analysis. That alone saved me most of a day each week that used to go to babysitting pipelines.

Second, the data was messy before it was useful. Raw scraped comments needed a lot of cleanup and tagging before an analyst could trust them. Now it comes through already collected and analyzed, so when it lands in the warehouse it's close to report-ready. I run social for a handful of small-business clients, mostly solo, so my swipe file is the thing I live in. What sold me on buzzabout is being able to slice a custom tagged swipe file by my own labels instead of whatever buckets the tool decided I should have.

Here is how it actually works for me. I collect the posts and the comments worth keeping for a client, then I write my own little prompt to tag each one with the angle I care about, things like "founder story", "before/after", "objection handling", "seasonal". buzzabout classifies the whole collection against my tags and then I can chart it. I work on voice of customer for a consumer brand, and I mainly use buzzabout for comments instead of posts. Likes do not tell me much, but comments show real reasons behind behavior. I run marketing on my own for a handful of small clients, so most of my "team" is me plus whatever I can wire into Claude. The thing I like most about buzzabout is that I don't have to leave that workflow. I set up a project in the app, then connect it to Claude through the MCP connector, and after that I can keep asking questions about the actual social data in chat. That MCP social research setup is what made it stick for me, because the research doesn't die when I close the dashboard.

The way I usually start is keyword research. I'll feed in the terms a client cares about and let it pull the posts and the comments underneath them, not just the post counts. Then if I want to understand one specific account, I drop a profile URL in and it analyzes what that profile is putting out and how people react. Once that collection exists, I pull it into Claude and just talk to it: what are people complaining about, what words keep coming up, what would a good hook be. Having the raw mentions sitting right next to my drafting makes a real difference.

The MCP connection took me two tries to get authenticated the first time, and the docs assumed I already knew where to grab the right key. It can be a little overwhelming if you don't come with a specific problem to solve. Think about what you're trying to solve first, then dive in and let the river take you.

It solves the problem of knowing what features to build for my audience of writers. I can search reddit threads, socials, etc to find exactly how people want to and are using AI to help them write. This particular topic evolves rapidly ofcourse so staying up-to-date is hard. Buzzabout makes it easy so I can build features confidently that I know have verifiable social proof demand.
