Page building and article creation have been made remarkably easy, along with an easily. **What do you dislike about BLOX NXT?** It doesn’t have strong support for handling media files which is a disadvantage of BLOX CMS. It is not user-friendly when it comes to uploading images and videos - for instance, there is no easy way to upload files by simply dragging them into the platform. **What problems is BLOX NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have found BLOX CMS highly effective for my team’s content production. The user interface and roles are very clean and easy to follow, which has helped us to get more articles out there. It lacks the ease of use and the limited range of design options. It does not allow me to create websites without requiring coding knowledge. **What do you dislike about BLOX NXT?** The intuitive interface and drag and drop functionality are needed to make content creation a breeze. The unresponsive design doe snot ensures that my websites look fantastic on any device. Makes content creation difficult with its complicated interface. Its no customizable templates and the drag and drop features are somewhat limited, for designing. **What do you dislike about BLOX NXT?** The built in SEO tools is cumbersome in boosting website visibility. It complicates content management consuming time and effort for any content creator or website owner.As for improvements it would be better to have customization options. Currently there are some limitations when it comes to design elements, which hampers creativity and branding efforts. **What problems is BLOX NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** The user interface uses some improvements too since it is a bit difficult to navigate. Its also cost effective and the customer support has been quite good. I use it almost every week for a few days and there has hardly been any down time either. **What do you dislike about BLOX NXT?** it could do with more integrations. It could also get better that multilingual CMS -- something that I need when I work with non-English writers. **What problems is BLOX NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** Blox CMS is probably one of the most straightforward CMS systems that I have encountered. As a content head who has to visualize and get the team to deliver different types of content at different timelines, its easy scheduling interface and API integration capability has made my life easier. Its also benefitted business impact in terms of efficiency and deadlines. ### 5. A lot of the stuff is already built, you don’t have to worry about serving hangups and caching issues, so it does a great job and providing a decent platform to build new sites on. **What do you dislike about BLOX NXT?** Customization can be a pain. Though it has gotten better, one reason was templating and logic were sometimes intertwined in their code, so you'd risk not having support just by changing the layout. However, that part has gotten better since they made more of a “everything is a block“ approach, which has helped immensely. Another part is the lack of a plug-in or extension system. It would be beneficial for TN and their vendors to have a marketplace system for extensions. Another part is though everything is a block for the most part, the disadvantages a lot of URLs (E.G another part is though everything is a block for the most part, the disadvantage is a lot of URLs (e.g. for sections, etc.) have to be built manually. In another CMS such as WordPress, for instance, something like that would take minimal effort. Another issue is caching, though it’s a good way in providing good performance, sometimes their caching controls are a bit too aggressive. **What problems is BLOX NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** When I worked at my previous company, Blox CMS provided a decent platform for building new sites. The advantage of having them take care of the lower level problems (such as caching, server performance, etc.) Helped a lot and having us focus on the higher level problems (such as providing good news products, more revenue ideas etc. ). However, some of the roadblocks with extensibility hindered some of those developments. If those were to be removed or reduced, it would become a more useful tool than it already is in providing excellent new sites. ### 6. I'm able to upload photos, videos, articles as well as create break-out boxes, add widgets, etc. It's also easy to make comments and notes, denote who has read and/or edited an article, and schedule posts for throughout the week. Overall the software is great and has been an instrumental part of my job. **What do you dislike about BLOX NXT?** The software does come with a learning curve and it takes a while to learn how to search for content and make certain edits. It's also not the most aesthetically pleasing program and could be a little more polished/modern. However, these are minor complaints as the software does what I need it to do and works well most of the time. **What problems is BLOX NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm solving the problem of needing a robust system that is able to schedule all of my organization's content. The system helps my business stay organized and helps my team work together to write, edit and stay on top of our content. ### 9. You are able to search and print information as needed. You have the ability to communicate to your customer after a task has been completed for a requested service. BLOX allows you to track customer data, update customer data. It is a self contained system. BLOX allows you to upload customer classified ads to the website so they are available to be viewed. You are able to select from a variety of categories to help customers search for the correct information. You are also able to set a start and an stop time for classified ads so they remain visible for a specific period of time. I like that you have a system with the customers USER ID where you can help them if they forget what they have chosen. The in house file has proved to be very helpful in resolving customers who could not log onto our website because they forgot the USER ID they selected. I like that there is the ability to list the various businesses in the area from A to Z. You can update and control forms submissions. It's really a back room type of operation where you can set up controls for your website. **What do you dislike about BLOX NXT?** The search criteria is not as user friendly as it could be. You have to be very specific and make sure you are selecting all the appropriate boxes or you have to start the entire process over again. Sometimes changes that have been updated in the system that appear to have been confirmed, do not appear to take. I am not sure why this happens. Updates to the system seem to take longer to go into effect. I do not like the SPAM that feeds into the email system. It would be great if there were a way to filter out the SPAM better. One area I would like to see improved is with the businesses. It would be great to have if we have total control over the Marketplace area and could remove older information that should no longer be there. We have attempted to do this in the past, however, somehow the information seems to reappear. **Recommendations to others considering BLOX NXT:** It is a great tool to help you solve customer problems and help your business. It helps you track customer data. There is very little down time, if any. The system is very secure and makes security a priority. BLOX is very straightforward in its design. It is a good basic system to handle your classified ads, marketplace services, manage customer email and user id data. Track key business information. **What problems is BLOX NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** Process customer requests to place ads through our self service system. The benefit is the customer is able to place their ad at their leisure and pay for it. We are able to process the ad without having to contact the customer and the payment has already been remitted via the system. We simply have to apply the payment. This streamlines the process and saves time and money. I have also been able to detect fraudulent ads that have been submitted through the self service system by reviewing the ad wording and the IP address origination point. This has helped save our newspaper money from noncollectable charge-backs from the bank. ### 10. While it takes a few times around to get our personal steps committed to memory, once that happens, it's super easy. Same for adding photos. **What do you dislike about BLOX NXT?** The flags and tags are often confusing and it seems as though the effects they have on the front end of the website change. For example, we would always flag our photos with "Featured" and "Editor's Pick" so that they would show up in a certain part of the site. That worked for awhile, but seemingly out of nowhere, that changed and we had to alter how we flagged photos and stories. Not a major deal, but certainly weird and a bit of an inconvience. **Recommendations to others considering BLOX NXT:** Be patient and take the time to learn the exact way your company needs to use Blox to make it work best for you. In the long run, it will save you a lot of time and frustration. **What problems is BLOX NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** While working around some of the problems within Blox have been challenging at times, once we found out what to do we were able to make our website look much better. ### 11. Everything looks great and stays within our website style easily. Very hard to mess anything up, which is ideal when you have a lot of people working in the program. **What do you dislike about BLOX NXT?** Takes a bit of getting used to but that's the same for any CMS, I think. **Recommendations to others considering BLOX NXT:** Definitely compare it to other CMS software available, but we found for the price and features it was the best option for us. **What problems is BLOX NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** Upload stories and content to our website, and also manage content for our print product. ### 12.
