"Great Tool, Even Better Customer Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

Blackthorn Events has been a great tool for our team, but what really made the biggest difference overall was the level of support we received. The Blackthorn Onboarding Team was incredible, especially when it came to timely responses. It was clear how knowledgeable each team member was, and that expertise came through in every interaction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

I wouldn’t say I dislike anything about Blackthorn Events, but I would like to see an RSVP decline option added in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Okenna Oruche of Blackthorn Events

The onboarding team will be glad to hear this. Knowledgeable and responsive is exactly the bar they hold themselves to, so it means a lot when that comes through in practice.

The RSVP decline option is noted. Appreciate the enhancement request.

"Blackthorn Events keeps you organized!"
5/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

It's helpful to have all of our events listed in one place, and it's nice to be able to jump back to see past event listing for reference. The integration with SalesForce is also helpful when sending mass emails to our constituents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

The initial onboarding was difficult. Learning the system took more time than I had anticipated. I am over a year in, and am still sometimes reaching out for help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Okenna Oruche of Blackthorn Events

We're glad Blackthorn Events gives your team a central home for event listings, and that referencing past events and the Salesforce integration for mass emails have become part of your regular workflow.

The onboarding feedback is fair, and we're actively working to shorten that learning curve. If you find things cumbersome as you continue using Blackthorn, please reach out to our support team for direction, and feel free to share that feedback with them directly. It gets surfaced to our development team for improvement.

"Empowers Event Management with Seamless CRM Integration"
4/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

I like how the user has a clean form to submit to sign up for events, even if the event is complex (multi-day/session). I also like how responsive the product team can be when we bring issues to them. It's great that it helps us offer a mobile-friendly registration form and capture payments. The simple messaging platform for quick communication with registrants is really helpful. Plus, it's integrated directly with our CRM, which gives us a better picture of how our constituents are engaging with us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

There is no simple way to register people on the backend of the form (i.e. if I am an event host and want to sign up on someone's behalf). There are just too many objects that need to be manually configured to an attendee record that typically would be connected automatically if someone was to go through the front end. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Michelle Petrel of Blackthorn Events

Thanks for the thoughtful review, Lauren! We’re glad Blackthorn Events is helping you manage complex events with mobile-friendly registration, payments, and messaging, and that the Salesforce CRM connection is giving you better visibility into engagement.

We really appreciate the feedback on backend registration workflows. Making it easier for event hosts to register attendees on someone else’s behalf is an important area, and input like this helps us understand those important workflow bottlenecks.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience.

"Strong Salesforce Integration, but Setup Still Buggy and Rudimentary"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

It's connection/integration with SalesForce Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

It is still very rudimentary and has a lot of bugs in it still. Not as easy to set up for an event as we would like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Okenna Oruche of Blackthorn Events

Hello,

I hear you on the setup experience and the bugs you've run into. That kind of friction early in an event build is frustrating, and it's not the standard we want to hold ourselves to. If you're open to it, I'd really value a conversation with your team to understand which specific bugs and setup steps have been the roughest, so we can get them in front of the right engineers. Please feel free to flag myself or your CSM contact.

Thanks for the honest feedback. It genuinely helps us prioritize the right fixes.

Best,

"Disappointing Experience, Complex and Limited Features"
0.5/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

I like that Blackthorn Events is connected to Salesforce. This integration is helpful because when we sell tickets, we can automatically have information about our ticket buyers, which can translate to our marketing efforts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

Honestly, Blackthorn has had many downsides in our experience. It doesn't provide a lot of the features we would want out of the box, and has required a lot of workarounds and customer support. It is not particularly user friendly on the backend and without a lot of subject matter expertise, it's easy to accidentally make a change that could impact many other aspects of an event we've put on sale. Very difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Okenna Oruche of Blackthorn Events

Charlotte, the experience you're describing is not what we want for any customer, and I appreciate you being direct about it.

The backend complexity and the risk of unintended changes cascading across a live event is a real concern. I'd genuinely like to understand more about where things have fallen short for your team. Feel free to reach out directly.

"Feature-Rich Event Management with Intuitive Setup"
4/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

I use Blackthorn Events to schedule trainings in my Salesforce org, and it helps me easily record information on events and attendees. I really like the event builder feature with its many good capabilities and the wizard that guides you through the process. You can edit an existing event, clone one, create a recurring event, and do many more tasks to create an event from start to finish. The bookmark section on the left side panel with all the topics related to your event is also handy. The initial setup was super easy using the candy shop. Blackthorn Events seems like a more updated solution for managing events compared to what I used before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

I find the simple navigation of the event builder a bit problematic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Michelle Petrel of Blackthorn Events

Thanks for the thoughtful review, Fernando! We’re glad Blackthorn Events is helping you manage trainings in Salesforce and that the event builder and setup experience have been working well.

We appreciate the feedback on navigation within the event builder. It’s something we’re actively considering. In fact, we’ve also got some fun new event-building improvements in the works. If you want a sneak peek at what’s coming, you can check it out here:

"Full-Featured Platform with Smooth Salesforce Integration"
5/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

I feel the platform is full featured and it's integration with Salesforce provides an easier on road for other groups to adopt overall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

Nothing in particular. I guess the licensing model can be a challenge since you need to make sure you have the correct SF licenses on top of Blackthorn licenses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Okenna Oruche of Blackthorn Events

Hello,

It's great to hear the Salesforce integration is making it easier for other groups to adopt the platform, and that it's helping bring consistency across your volunteer-run events.

On licensing, that's a fair point. If you're open to it, I'd love to hear more specifics via email on where the licensing model has felt like a challenge, so we can see if there's a clearer way to guide customers through that setup.

Thanks for the feedback.

"Fast Support and Reliable for High-Priority Tickets"
5/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

I like how fast Blackthorn Events is with their support. Even if they don't know the answer immediately, they are quick to respond. I feel like their events platform is very fast and helps with all my tickets, especially when I need to solve high-priority tickets. They solve technical problems whenever I need help with Salesforce, which is crucial for me. I think they have a good platform with high-quality support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

not much Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Okenna Oruche of Blackthorn Events

Fast, reliable support on high-priority tickets is something we take seriously, Bailey. Really glad that's been your experience!

"Powerful Attendee Reporting for Events"
5/5
What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?

How many reports can be pulled after collecting data from attendees Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?

I’ve had trouble with the checkout. There’s no way to accept a donation without having to set it up as an Event Item Main ticket, and the same issue comes up with products. I also can’t find a way to require people to choose their sessions before they check out. On top of that, there’s no option to enter multiple codes at checkout. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Okenna Oruche of Blackthorn Events

The checkout feedback is specific and worth taking seriously. Donations as a standalone option, session selection before checkout, and multiple code entry are all concrete gaps. If you're open to it, I'd love to connect directly to make sure these are captured properly.

The depth of post-event reporting is one of those features that quietly earns its keep over time. Glad that's been useful.
