This does not extend to basic functionality though, only some quality of life aspects that could be improved upon (which are constantly being improved). **Recommendations to others considering Betty Blocks:** Think big, there are so many things you can do with this application. **What problems is Betty Blocks solving and how is that benefiting you?** There are two important processes in our organization that are not properly supported by applications (sign-up/waitlist and contracting). Getting an application to support these processes would be very expensive. These applications would also not completely fit our needs. It gives you the possibility to build an application in a short period, without the use of code. After making a data model, you can build a complete application in the back office. But you can also build a complete webbased application for end users by just clicking with your mouse. The business logic is build in the webbased screens and actions. With the Pagebuilder it is very easy to build the webbased screens. By just dragging your standard components to the canvas, you are able to build user friendly screens. With the option of sandboxes, you create a complete DTAP environment. With the merge option is it possible to transport your development from D(evelopment) to T(test), to A(cceptance) and to P(roduction). The merge is just two simple clicks, and all the changes you have made in the development environment, will be transported to the next environment. You can build an application with several developers simultaneously. It is also possible to build your own custom components. I enjoy building applications with Betty Blocks. I don’t have to think about the technical things you need to build an application. As someone without any education or experience in developing, it's very intuitive. The option to create button/form interactions is put together very well. **What do you dislike about Betty Blocks?** What i like about Bettyblocks in the pagebuilder is the usage of components. Once made you can re-install them on different applications, which is a huge time-saver. However, Bettyblock doesn't support reusable actions or modelling. What I'd like to see, is for example: When i've made a process within bettyblocks which makes use of an OCR API and creates invoices accordingly. Then i want to save this as a block or module. Aslong as the external resource is approachable trough the cloud.\ All development is done within the cloud, so no development tools are required on your workspace. Because BettyBlocks focuses on more small-scale apps instead of 1 Core Business application, you will run into issues when you try to do too much within one application. **Recommendations to others considering Betty Blocks:** If you are looking for a platform that enables your departments to innovate and automate most business processes, BettyBlocks is a great platform! When you miss a component, there is a possibility to create the missing component by yourself. It's also very easy to create some actions (workflows/function). You don't have to write any code anymore. **What do you dislike about Betty Blocks?** Pricing is quite high. When you want to use Betty Blocks as a platform, you have to pay licences. This pricing is quite high for "just" a platform where you can build applications. This pricing deters many companies from Belgium. When translating a business workflow in betty blocks it is very nice to configure the flow in the form of an action where you can drag and drop steps of the action to complete the flow. No programming needed, just configuring and logical thinking. **What do you dislike about Betty Blocks?** Betty Blocks is currently implementing a powerful new tool called the Pagebuilder, a frontend drag and drop UI builder which helps users create a frontend for their application. For simple flows, this is working well, but it can be complex to build an extensive workflow in the frontend without the knowledge. Also, a lot of specific options are not yet possible with the Pagebuilder, however, if you understand the basics of programming, you can create your components to use in the page builder, so basically, everything you want to use in your frontend is possible, only you need to have some essential programming experience. **What problems is Betty Blocks solving and how is that benefiting you?** A lot of business flows involving questionnaires for internal use. At the same time, more experienced developers can still customize the existing blocks with code, or add custom styling, when needed. **What do you dislike about Betty Blocks?** It will be great when no code is needed whatsoever, even for large, complex applications. At the moment, this isn’t quite the case. You’ll likely still want to add code for bigger projects. **What problems is Betty Blocks solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our IT department had these huge backlogs and our business departments were often frustrated that their needs weren’t being catered to. Also, the pagebuilder is still a work in progress. It works great already and you can build a small, simple app with it with great speed, but it has its limitations.
