## Balsamiq Reviews
  ### 1. Great Wireframing Tool for Business Analysts

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Teja T. | Senior Business Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq has an excellent user interface that makes it one of the tremendous wireframing tools in the market. The user learning is so fast and seamless, which will positively impact the organisation adoption rate. Quicker and quality wireframes in a lesser timeframe indirectly accelerate the feedback time and development cycle. Offline functionality is always a plus for users to work in offline mode. Reusable components and collaboration across teams/users are always helpful for organizations to review and work together in accomplishing user experience needs.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

The Cloud version of the product is a bit slower and needs performance improvements. The export functionality into various file formats needs to be implemented to benefit the overall developer community.
Shoudl add more search capabilities to search design elements to the overall functionality.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

This tool is best for rapid prototyping and collaboration. Project Managers, Business Analysts, and the product team have great benefits.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Balsamiq regularly to design low to medium-fidelity wireframes based on the gathered requirements. Validate the wireframes with the Product team to create high-fidelity prototypes for developers to work on front-end development.

  ### 2. Best-in class tool for wireframing.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Apoorv Y. | Deputy Manager - Business Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

The ease of use makes this one of the finest tool for wireframing. I liked the number of features and variety of options to create wireframes with ease of implementation.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

This product lacks the use of free hand creation of lines and paths which can make it even more useful. Also it should have an open library search via web.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Balsamiq has been really helpful while creating the wireframes and screens of the idea which would allow the ux designer to have a clear picture of what needs to be designed and shown to the user.

  ### 3. Most entry level wireframing tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Muhammed A. | Business Analyst, Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I like its UI, it's actually very user-friendly and easy to use. even for a person who is writing first time, then also they can easily understand. and all kind of icons will be by default available.
Additionally, we can import images and logos very easily.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

As per my understanding it totally great, but I have one suggestion the Balsamiq group can also provide a painting option and prototying then it will be a next-level product.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can easily prepare application wireframes and also it are easily editable. suppose I want to create a wireframe within a short time, that time balsamiq helped me a lot of time.

  ### 4. Easy to use, has just the features I needed

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Duncan M. | Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

It's well designed. Very intuitive - I figured it out quiet quickly.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Sometimes I had to look around the icon menus for a while before i could find stuff.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helped me design smarter and communicate with developers better.

  ### 5. An OK tool for collaboration on Mobile/Web wireframes.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Idan K. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

It's pretty easy to start using. Creating the page hierarchy, drag-and-drop components into the view, And defining layouts is excellent for simple wireframes.
Also, Pricing is fair!

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

UI always looked a bit less refined and professional to clients than other tools like axure, etc.
It feels like it's harder to customize the default features and components. it might not be the best tool for a service provider, wanting to present a wireframe with branding orientation.
Last thing that might affect offline users. unlike other apps, balsamiq was web only... it was Okay by me, but might cause some issues when experiencing network issues

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When conversing on system/web/app design, I needed to create wireframes for clients. This was the first tool I received from the company I worked in, and it was fun transforming these ideas into blueprints. Clients could see the exact direction we were going towards with the UX/UI and dev.

  ### 6. Best alternate for pen and paper for your wireframes in digital world

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hiren R. | Senior Business Analyst | Product Owner, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Quick wireframe creation is the best function of Balsamiq. Predefined presets are very much useful for a design requirement. It gives the user an idea of how the screen will look and behave in terms of user experience.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Sometimes we don't find a specific design we have in mind for some inputs, especially the latest design of the input. For example, dropdown which shows in the wireframe is very basic and not able to find any alternate for the same.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I want to convey the design to UI expert, I will use the balsamiq so that UI expert will know my expecations. Also changing the wireframes in balsamiq is very easy, drag and drop, which is helping in accomodating the changes.

  ### 7. Fast lofi wireframes

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq is ideal for anyone who needs to quickly create wireframes for apps without spending too much time learning complex software.

It has a large library of pre-built UI components, making it easy to quickly drag and drop elements into wireframes. It's easy to create projects and link frames together. It can export to stand-alone images or a PDF with clickable hyperlinks.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

It's purposely low fidelity that helps deliver fast conceptual mockups, but occasionally it would be nice to be able to move those wireframes into a higher fidelity rendition.

They've recently announced the Desktop edition will be getting less and less development focus which I understand given usage stats, but I do prefer it for offline work.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's easy to get bogged down in the look and feel of a final design so lofi wireframes are purposely "sketchy" in order to focus on app concepts and usability. Balsamiq fits that need very nicely allowing attention to be given to the conceptual design.

  ### 8. Balsamiq helped me design apps

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph G. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I loved using balsamiq to design prototypes and use it for building app and website designs. I used to for personal and work use and it help me create baseline screens for apps.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I was not too fond of the learning curve of balsamiq. It took me some time to learn the ins and outs of the product and how to use it from end to end. If I could have had tutorials for the product, that would have helped me onboard.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Balsamiq allowed me to design website and app screens for my work to create a baseline idea of what I wanted to build. Since I was a product manager, this allowed me to showcase ideas without including product design up front.

  ### 9. Balsamiq Tool Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

One of the standout features of Balsamiq is its simplicity. The interface is clean and intuitive. The drag-and-drop functionality allows for quick and effortless placement of elements, and the pre-built components library offers a wide range of UI elements to choose from, saving a lot of time and manual effort.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq's simplicity and focus on low-fidelity wireframes may limit its usefulness for projects requiring high-fidelity visual representation. Other tools do a better job at more intricate designs.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Drag and drop designs
2. Pre configured components
3. Easy UI to develop quick mockups and wireframes

  ### 10. Incredible easy and innovative wireframing app!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aadhya C. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I am a great fan of Balsamiq. I have been using it since my college days and it's simple to use with endless options for several iterations. As a product manager, it makes my job incredibly easy and makes my wireframes looks classy!

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

When I first started out with my onboarding there were no proper instructions given to use the product however I see that they have changed their onboarding process much more customer friendly.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a student in the field of product management, I was always required to do wireframes and prototyping and this app was a time saver. It is easy to use and you will end up getting neat, clean, and classy wireframes and prototypes.

  ### 11. Love this wireframe tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Grace D. | Product Owner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Cute UI, clear space. Easy to onboard for new member. Help me to reduce working time

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

lack of component diversity. Price is a little bit high

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

wireframing my web and mobile app. I used it to describe my expectation to my dev team

  ### 12. Quick, Easy, Powerful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian M. | Sr. Consultant | Project Leadership | CSP | SCP, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq has a low learning curve. I could quickly get started and show a wireframe to developers on what our customer needs were. There are some advanced parts of the application, but they were not needed to get the message across that I wanted to communicate.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I don't have any dislikes of the product. It has come through for me every time I have needed it. I use a mac, and I use the latest version of Balsamiq for macOS.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When working with a client, they will describe what they want a user interface to look like. I go to Balsamiq to give them a detailed description of what I will build. The output looks hand drawn, so it is obvious that it is not the final product and still needs to be made.

  ### 13. Excellent wirefaming tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul M. | Owner, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq allows us to quickly create a mockup or wireframe of our desktop, mobile or web apps, even providing links between the mockups to simulate the workflow of a user. It's much faster to create something in Balsamiq than to create the code in our dev environment, and more flexible than working with paper.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

We would like the ability to collaborate - have a team working on a group of mockups at the same time. It would also be good to be able to use source control like git to be able to track changes to the design.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Balsamiq in our quotation and design process, so we can present possible solutions to our customers before committing time to writing code. It becomes a discussion piece, to start the process of understanding the customer requirements, and from there developing detailed specifications once we understand the user interface and workflow.

  ### 14. Decent tool for wireframing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

- Predefined templates
- Number of utilities, and icons within the app that you don't have to export anything from outside and use it.
- Quick and easy to drag and drop the assets and build the wireframe

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

- Looks outdated design.
- Slightly complex in understanding initially for the first time user

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Quick input to the engineering team to make them start designing the code.
- Quick input to the design team to communicate your thoughts about the design solving the problem on the top of which designer could build or share feedback
- Easy for communication to the stakeholders not technical

  ### 15. Gets the job done

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2015

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Simple and intuitive. Easy drag and drop features. Coming to Balsamiq from Axure, this was as basic as could be and required no learning curve.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

It's not very easy to modify text styles (underlined, bold, highlighted). I know that defeats the purpose of this simple wire framing tool, but sometimes things like that are necessary in order to communicate with others reviewing the design.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

If looking for a very robust rapid prototyping tool, look outside of Balsamiq.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick and easy to modify wire framing.

  ### 16. Balsamiq is solid

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bobbi H. | Project manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I used it only for wireframing, and it was solid.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

It does what it is supposed to do, nothing more nothing less

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wireframing

  ### 17. Balsamiq - building wireframes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** MEDHA B. | Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq is a tool for creating wireframes in the easiest and least time-consuming way. It helps by providing a large number of ideas in the form of various icons and easy navigation. It has renovated the prototype testing process by being pretty user-friendly. It also provides a trial version for beginners to get accustomed to the tool and then make their choices accordingly.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

The tool doesn't really have anything to dislike about it, they can improve the tool configuration by adding more exporting options and also improve the UI for a better user experience and enriched output quality.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Balsamiq really helps in picturizing the prototype you are working on in your own way, allowing you to make necessary changes with the help of a large number of menus, components, and icons available. It has helped in enhancing the user experience of various apps or prototypes the organization has been working on.

  ### 18. The best Tool for learners to learn about Wireframing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq was the very first tool that helped me learn about wireframes and it is also the tool that I have used to make most of my raw wireframes. The best part of it is that it provides very easy to understand pull down icons and options from the top bar which makes the wireframing journey smooth and easy to learn and build the wireframe.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

The only thing I dislike about Balsamiq is that it does not provide the option to attach toggle links on all types of buttons and search bars. Also, the designs of the layouts of the devices can be improved. Rest all the features of the software are no doubt one of the best.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Balsamiq provides an opportunity for any individual to use their tool and start making wireframes and understand the basics of how to make a wireframe. The tool benefitted me by letting me make my first ever wireframe for a mobile application which was later made into a real application.

  ### 19. Balsamiq is a quick and easy tool for wireframing, but could have better flexibility

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nishant K. | Product Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

The ease of use is best. All the options are available upfront, and even new users easily learn it within minutes.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I think the available components are very rigid, and users cannot customise them a lot. For new-age interactions, we need more features and more flexibility.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The best thing about Balsamiq is that it is quick. You can create wireframes in minutes which is very helpful when you are doing lo-fi mocks to get buy-in from stakeholders. It has all the basic elements that can be used in wireframes.

  ### 20. Very easy wireframe design software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tilanka D. | Design Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

So, we get a start very easily. It has many simbols that suitable for new versions like andriod newest version. si, we can deaign wireframe same as the reak one. That is why I use this app.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

This app dosent made me any problems. Most of templetes avilable online. But it dosen't make problems due to small file sizes. We can very easly import them. I like if we can add more colours.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

This is very small software. It can use very easily to everone, even do you have just skills to hand a software. There are many tutorials for this software. So any one can easily start their project with balsamiq.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wireframe is a basic step of GUI development. It is very difficult to use hand sketches. So, this software give the real solution for that. I can give very clear idea to the customer using Blasamiq wireframes.

  ### 21. Average Prototyping Software

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pallavi C. | PRT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq is an average prototyping software with minimum features. With the help of this, we can quickly create wireframes for web and mobile applications. Even this software provides us the facility to design the outline the flow of the software.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq came with minimal features when I was using it. I was able to perform basic and important things. The UI of the software is not that much impressive as compared to the other software's in the market.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

Balsamiq can give you all the basic tools that you need to build your prototypes

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Balsamiq helps me to solve the number of problems. Which are listed below

- I was able to do prototyping of Mobile Applications
- I was able to do prototyping of websites
- I was able to link the flow of the mobile apps and websites

  ### 22. Nice Prototype tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Creating wireframes for a website and mobile app is quite easy. As a developer, I can relate to labels used for the designs like textbox, radio etc which are quite similar to html elements.
I loved that I can link the button and hyperlink to a new landing page.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I used free version which has limited functionality. One of the example is that I cannot use drop down menu dynamically. I have to create another page and link it to drop down menu to see the drop down list which is time consuming and not that smooth transition.
I am not sure if this functionality is available in paid version.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

this tools is very user friendly and even non technical person can learn it quickly with basic knowledge of the tool.
Availability of freemium version - basic web and mobile designs availability.

  ### 23. Best mock wireframing and UI design application

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aviral S. | Business Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

It is very easy to use Balsamiq and the application itself has different categories for android and web wireframes which is very helpful.
We can add assets that we want to use.
Its feature to drag the image and usage of added assets is good.

I had been asked to use this application and it was so user-centric and time-saving that I am stuck to using it.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

It's a free application and works good so I have no major complaints
The designs are not much closer to the real design, I know its a mock wireframing application but the design can be a little more professional.
Sometimes I find it problematic to Align text.
Its overall appearance can be changed as it's a little dated but still, I like using Balsamiq.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

It's easy to use the application as it requires no login and is fast and saves time and is effective while working.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can create the wireframes easily, effectively and it saves my time if I use this application also I can easily drag and drop images.
Its usually used for UI creation so it's very user-centered and easy to use and working on it never feels like we are starting from scratch.

I was asked to make to UI design for a certain application on very short notice and I was able to make it before the deadline.
It exports files in the form of images which is easy to use in other documents and my team can integrate it according to their need.
I use this application quite often but it never gets clumsy and facilitates the usage by users.

  ### 24. Great tool for easily and quickly creating UI prototypes!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve C. | Senior Product Analyst, CBAP®, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Overall, I genuinely enjoy using Balsamiq and find it to be very straightforward to use. With this tool, I can quickly create wireframes and other UI prototypes. The interface is generally simple and not cluttered with an overabundance of controls and options. There is also not much of a learning curve at all with this product due to its simplicity and the intuitive design of the interface.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq does not provide a way to easily share designs with others nor does it provide a good way to collaborate with others on a given design. The other annoyance is the fact that Baslamiq files can become very large and therefore may take a longer to open when there are several designs saved in the same file.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Balsamiq to design both basic and complex UI/UX prototypes. I can quickly create prototypes to share with the development team in the very early stages of the design process. I can then modify and improve the prototype (as needed) and quickly get feedback on those designs from our users through usability testing.

  ### 25. Sketch your Black& white Idea

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ankit R. | Sr UI UX Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Drag and drop the components. Its iconfy. All saved components make my work very easy. Whatever I need I just drag it into my mockup. It makes my life very smooth

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

As of now nothing. It is simply awesome.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

For the user experience, it is very good. You can create your idea in it very easily. the pricing is also good. I suggest you try this once. This will make your work very easy. I know all the designers use this.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I created a wireframe for my product. I solve the problem. and represent to the stockholder. then I switch to another tool for UI. For the blueprint of the idea I use Balsamiq.

  ### 26. Easy and Effective Wire Framing Mock Up Design for UI and More

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacqueline S. | Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

The Balsamiq Mock Ups software has a very easy learning curve and good standard setup. I can easily and quickly create simple wire-frame examples for a proposal, or a much more complex UI design wire frame set. The built-in library of shapes, containers, and icons is helpful in getting common tasks done that are relevant to my web development practice. There is no limit to what I am allowed to make (flow charts, UI designs, admin flows, site maps, etc.) and I can create as many project buckets and pages as I want. Many of the SAAS competiting products have a lot more limitations.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I don't dislike much. Sometimes I wish the library had more options available in it, like more modern icons. Sometimes I wish I could share the tools with a colleague (collaboration is not a feature), but it is not a frequent need for me. The default font and drawing style is a bit childish, but they give you the option to change the default to your own preferred fonts and clean lines, so this is easily overcome.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

Make sure you understand this is a desktop version software installed to a single user machine, and that you do not require collaborative cloud software.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since the software is installed to my local desktop, there is no relying on a cloud, Internet or web browser to load things. The program is fast loading and responsive. I can work offline on a series of things. It saves a lot of bandwidth and time compared to some SAAS-based tools. It saves me money paying for the desktop version once rather than being stuck with a recurring subscription. My clients also love the results and find the wire-frame formats quality and useful, which encourages me to use it more. It saves a ton of time in project management and development, because we work out a lot of issues quickly with the wire-framing tool. In fact, clients like the mockups so much, they

  ### 28. In Love with Balsamiq, since 2015 ! The Unbeatable Wireframing tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel C. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

The Zenith of User experience, Balsamiq is the tool with the best UX, have never used a product/tool with better UX. It's a product made with utmost care and love, every page, button, help content, controls are self-explanatory and user obsessive. Anybody can become a wireframe expert within a week, with this tool. I personally love to experiment with wireframes, comes back to this tool for all my wireframing requirements, Using this for the last 7 years now

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Nothing major, Balsamiq is so user-centric, they try to solve needs, even before the user points out. Still, I have a few which are like recommendations, no reason to Dislike this amazing product
1. Option to convert to clickable prototypes can be improved
2. Option to convert wireframes to real-world designs, ( at least close to the real ones)
3. Smart help assistance, which can help me get things done, when there are easier steps, for eg- instead of using CTRl C + CTRL V, just a CTRL D in Balsamiq can help us make a duplicate, It would be great if the tool can proactively suggest Balsamiq user tips, whenever a relevant situation occurs

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

Stop using Paint / PPT / other tools for wireframing. Get Balsamiq, it's worth investing. Period. Try the free trial and experience the benefits, then decide

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Try and Fail early
2. Faster decision making
3. Easier and effective communication with Stakeholder , Designers and Engineering team
4. Helps in reducing long documentation

  ### 29. The go-to app for beginner wireframe-creators

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq goes straight to the point. It shows you all you need to start creating your own wireframes. You can take it from there. It gives you the option to get from being a beginner to a pro. It also allows pros to get work done, fast.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

The font used within the canvas looks somewhat unprofessional at first glance. I understand that it's for rough and quick wireframing, but even then - the font is some times deemed unacceptable by certain clients.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

Use it as a rough sketchpad, as a napkin - get work done on it and move on to higher fidelity. I'd recommend not using this for client deliverables.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wireframing is being done at a very fast pace. Rapid iterative testing and iteration design method requires this approach to wireframing, and this is where Balsamiq truly shines.

  ### 30. Useful tool for learning and creating wireframes

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nellie S. | Content Strategist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

I'm new to wireframing so I appreciated the content and instructional videos. I am looking to expand my skills in UI/design as a content writer so seeing this side of things is very useful.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I think other tools might be more ubiquitous in the industry so I wonder if I need to spend more time learning on a different platform. But this was a good place to learn.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Planning before building has been helpful to spend time on before building things with my team. We can all get on the same page before we start which saves us headaches in the future.

  ### 31. My experience with Balsamiq

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Susmita R. | Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq is a lightweight tool that is very simple and easy to use. Not only technical users, but also non-technical users can easily use this software. You can easily create your mockups and prototype with the available shapes and diagrams available in it. The drag and drop features have made the work much simpler and faster, saving the developer's time. A feature set focused on developing wireframes in the shortest amount of time. Ability to simply exchange components within a project or download pre-made components from a central library. Much less expensive than other competitors. Everything is at your fingertips thanks to the toolbar at the top. There are a lot of options available, and they're all good for laying down processes. Viewing wireframes is a simple operation that takes place on the left side of the screen.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

In some situations, wireframes can appear childish and unprofessional. Based on Adobe Air technology, which is now obsolete. Despite the fact, it has different diagrams, they are not enough, and it is not enriched in functionalities. It doesn't support interactive prototyping, unlike other similar products. Only if you pay for it, a limited number of elements, pages, and projects are available on a single license. Some of the things are difficult to modify. It's not easy or always possible to resize columns. There is no option to collaborate; nevertheless, if it were web-based, it would be considerably more powerful. The picture support is cumbersome and awkward.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

I would like to recommend technical, non-technical users try this software.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes my job easier and creates a clean wireframe right away. I won't use anything else for Wireframing because the pre-set buttons that you can drag are the greatest. This is used by several folks at my firm for software design prototypes. We've used it to get approval for pages in a customer's portal, including how consumers would be channeled and navigate them, and how procedures would function through APIs we're implementing. We previously utilized Visio for this type of design. The iteration is faster during web development and it saves time learning new thing.

  ### 32. Easy wireframe tool that can be utilized for early design concepts

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emm P. | Director of Product Design, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Easy to learn and use this tool to create early concept wireframes that people that are not just UX designers can still use and collaborate on.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Cannot take the LoFi design concepts up to HiFi design mocks and the interactive prototyping capability is a bit limited to simulate a realistic intended experience.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crafting and exploring different design ideas quickly and easily with product managers and engineers as they can create their LoFi wireframes to visualize their ideas while we are ideating on possible UX design solutions.

  ### 33. Best tool to do click thru wireframes in-depth or low-fidelity wireframes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pankaj D. | Principal Product Designer, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

The best part is everything is handy on the top band and has a huge library of components. You can easily search and add into your wireframe... even you can drag the image and convert it into a sketch in just a click.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

The major GAP is no collaboration option between team members. Rest, it does exactly what it's intended to do.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have Balsamiq cloud and it solves many problems... like, when I am in Design Sprint or white boarding or in a brainstorming session, anyone can easily create mockups thru its huge element library.

  ### 34. Quick and Easy to Learn and Use, while Producing Professional-Quality Wireframes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq is super easy to use and very intuitive. It is the best tool for wireframing because it makes the process so quick and efficient while at the same time creating high-quality design artifacts to guide conversations with the client.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I find it somewhat annoying and difficult to do things with layering. I eventually get to where I want something, but it takes me a while. I also have trouble aligning text sometimes.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Balsamiq helps me quickly draw up wireframes to show clients possibilities for their application's UI/UX. I can also quickly input realistic values and text into relevant fields so that my client feels more comfortable by seeing relevant information in the wireframe. I save a lot of time and money by having wireframes that are quick and easy to make when the client changes his/her mind, and we have to go back to the drawing board.

  ### 35. Great for quick and easy wireframes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sandy A. | Member Experience Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

The ability to drag/drop and use keystrokes that make sense across all applications.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Not able to store a library or assets (at least I haven't found out how to anyway)

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provide wireframe renderings of future software development.

  ### 36. One of the best wireframing tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsmiq is super easy and let's you create some amazing wireframes. if you know your way around can create some interactive ones too.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

It'd be good to have some more stencils, rest everything's great

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Balsamiq helps support the documentations and explain feature requests clearly with the flow.

  ### 37. Overall excellent wireframing software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karen M. | Director of Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq makes wireframing easy. I like its icon-driven and drag-and-drop UI and various collaboration features. I've found Balsamiq to be a great tool for a range of projects.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Sometimes I've found the UI a little clunky, especially when it comes to downloading/exporting files. Compared to a tool like Axure, Balsamiq is a little dated in its overall look and feel. But I still like Balsamiq a great deal for the reasons mentioned above.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've done some collaborative wireframing in Balsamiq with team members and have saved time with this tool. The icons spark ideas and encourage creativity, so it doesn't feel like I'm starting a project from scratch.

  ### 38. Simple, elegant wire-framing tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gideon A. | Director, Experience Design, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Drop-dead easy to learn, Balsamiq is a go-to tool for getting ideas out quickly. Especially during Covid while everyone is working from home and whiteboards are a thing of the past, you can sketch out an idea or concept in less time than it takes to talk about it. And since pictures clarify while words can often be misconstrued, Basamiq is a terrific way to share ideas easily. The comic book lines ensure that nobody takes this as a finished wireframe.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Better prototyping ability would be helpful to test interactions as well as layout.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As noted, we use it to generate and share ideass for UI and interaction quickly and effectively. Benefits are especially apparent when the teams are working remotely.

  ### 39. Simple and fast wireframing. My go tool to every time I need to convey design and intent.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian H. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Drag and drop wireframing that is actually easy to use. The ability to share publicly so reviewers do not need to create accounts. The ability to bring in controls (like Bootstrap) and other templates. Versioning of wireframes is really nice. Presentation and comment modes are great for screen sharing and presenting to stakeholders.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Being able to display and demonstrate controls that are interactive and provide animation. This ability could be beneficial when talking to stakeholders and showing intent with UX. Complex grids with buttons and controls (other than a checkbox) is challenging to get right. To do complex grids, you must drag and drop many shapes, labels, etc., in order to accurately show how the grid will look once developed.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Balsamiq has allowed me to provide stakeholders a glimpse into the design process, start conversations on UX, and provide something they can understand prior to the software being written.

  ### 40. Balsamiq Democratizes Design - in a Bad Way

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq is extraordinarily easy to use. Everything is drag and drop and, designed to mimic hand-sketched mock ups, affords the user the ability to design at a low fidelity. In theory, this allows one to demonstrate proof of concept without a ton of investment in the actual nuts and bolts of pixel-perfect design.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

The ease of use is ultimately Balsamiqs downfall...at least in the design community. As a professional designer, it is possible to quickly wireframe at low fidelity, with repeatable and customizable components, in a Sketch or a Figma. For designers, Balsamiq doesn't save much time and is immensely inhibiting. Moreover, the "hand drawn" aesthetic can sometimes be distracting and/or unprofessional for some projects. But most of all, it brings too many cooks into the design kitchen. Anybody and their mother can string a mockup(s) together in Balsamiq and, all of the sudden, they think they are a product designer. I can't tell you how many times I got terrible, ill-conceived "mock ups" from a client or a stakeholder or a PM that watered down the actual design thinking and design work I was tasked with.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

If you are a designer, or you want to get into product design, please don't consider incorporating Balsamiq into your workflow. Learn to wireframe in Figma or Sketch with good velocity. If you are a non-technical person, feel free to use Balsamiq to visualize your ideas if its helpful...but please don't equate what you're doing with what a real product designer does. It's not the same.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Like I said, Balsamiq wasn't for me. But if you have a non-technical organization, or you are a non-technical client that is looking to encapsulate and visualize your ideas for a platform, maybe it would work for you.

  ### 41. Quick tool for wireframes

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

This is the easiest and quickest tool to create wireframes. Drag and drop makes life easy and great. Also, predefined components help to make rapid wireframes.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I don't think there is anything I dislike about Balsamiq, apart from the fact that it isn't easy to create complicated scenarios. Also, sometimes the cloud version goes slow.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

If you are looking for a tool only for wireframes, please go ahead and use this.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We create quick wireframes for clients' projects and our products. This is like a digital paper where we convert the ideas into digital form. Black and white (fewer colors) help me to just focus on UX instead of UI elements.

  ### 42. Pulled abilities I didn't know I had out of me

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

It has all of the elements you want to showcase an idea easily accessible, well organized, and simple to place and set up/adjust in your wireframe.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

There's not a lot of room for custom design. Yes, it is just a wireframe, but sometimes you have to search for an element that fits what you're thinking of and you can't find it immediately, when it would be easy enough to just draw what you're trying to do manually. Even though 90+% of the time the built in elements are going to be great for getting your point across, sometimes I feel stuck.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a beginner, I'm trying to learn how to wireframe but also make realistic wireframes within the dimensions and conventions of iOS or Android design, and the built in elements include correct dimensions for the iPhone screen and body for example, while also having elements at the right size so you can see exactly how much room you have to place things in a layout. There's no guesswork or research needed to find dimensions or try to match it up.

  ### 43. Easy to use software for wireframing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

The simplicity of interface and sharing with peers is something we really liked.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Haven't used the platform in as much detail to come across something that stood out in a negative way.

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

Go ahead, it's a great tool for wireframing.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were undergoing a major website redesign excercise and we used Balsamiq for all our primary wireframing.

  ### 44. Good for Fast Prototyping

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Its simplicity is just plain good and easy to use especially for fast prototyping.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

Its art style sometimes doesn't match users' expectations.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves my problem throughout prototyping when it's needed in fast pace workflow

  ### 45. The best mockup program of all time

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nil T. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

It's one of the most user-friendly platforms for creating mockups.
+ Rich content
+ Assets for both iOS and Android
+ Also great for creating websites & saas tools mockups

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

It can be a bit slow sometimes, and maybe they should increase its performance. And I'd like to see more specific icons. Sometimes it's not enough, and I cannot find what I'm looking for.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a well-rounded product, so you can prepare mockups for everything you can image, such as for websites, mobile apps, b2b saas tools, even marketing banners and etc.

  ### 46. Super easy (but limited) prototyping tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juliana K. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

Balsamiq is easy to use and to introduce to other teammates without a design background. The ability to drag-and-drop components makes it intuitive for most users! Their component gallery has pretty much all the elements one would need to create wireframes for testing ideas. I also love the ability to create simple links between screens, which makes it easy to test navigation.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

The simplicity helps with ease of use, but it can be limiting at times. The table component is hard to use and very limited. I end up using lines or rectangles when I need a better "table".

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great for creating wireframes quickly. Excellent for testing the early stages of product ideas!

  ### 47. My go-to for wireframing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

It's incredibly simple to use. I can just drag things on to the screen from the toolbox and I have a wireframe. Other products are much more bloated and complicated to use.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

I'd like a few more pre-built controls in the toolbox.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Balsamiq to communicate with developers and for documentation of features. Because it's so fast to create a wireframe, I can use it in meetings to quickly visualize interface ideas the team is working on.

  ### 48. The best and only wireframe tool you will ever need

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ankit B. | Senior Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

1. Ease of use
2. The balance between low fidelity wireframe and sketch
3. The true meaning of "rapid prototyping"
4. Online and offline functionality
5. Frequent upgrade to accommodate new devices and technologies
6. Reusable components which you can manage centrally
7. I have very few newsletters but I always look forward to Balsamiq newsletter, the team sends a beautiful email telling where the product is headed and what are they trying to solve.

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

1. A bit laggy when files get big
2. No search pages functionality
3. No feature to view and save version history
4. Cloud version is slow to load
5. Export can become better
6. Very less interactive prototyping ability (just PDF clicks)

**Recommendations to others considering Balsamiq:**

Balsamiq is one of the few companies which is truly devoted towards its users.

Balsamiq has two types of licenses, desktop and cloud, both are equally important and useful.

If you want to collaborate then go for the cloud license which you use on the desktop if needed.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visualizing a solution can be a huge impact while during development or even brainstorming, sketching on boards are the traditional way to do this but Balsamiq provides the bridge between technology and manual sketching.

Balsamiq has been useful to present clients, stakeholders what to expect from a product (or solution), it can be used by product team hence saving effort by design and development. The leads to validation of ideas and UX before even development starts.

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Balsamiq?**

quick to set up, easy to start mocking, sometimes you just need a tool to help with visualizing layout and you don't need it to be high fidelity, love the free tier

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

not much use for it beyond very low fidelity, layout related mockups

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

easy low fidelity mockups for layout and placement of elements

  ### 50. It is good to do a quick low fidelity wireframes.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

flexibility
a good amount of ready-made component templates

**What do you dislike about Balsamiq?**

prototyping can be improved
ease of online collaboration.

**What problems is Balsamiq solving and how is that benefiting you?**

i make quick mockups to discuss with team.
it helps me to uncover ideas and thoughts quickly
it makes me to get quick useful feedbacks of stakeholders, before it is too late
