**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

The free tier limits are great for starting up your projects and small businesses.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

The UI is okay, not great. There are lots of steps to just browse your files. The support has not been great. They are usually canned responses and even after a human is involved, they do not try to address the issues. I tried to ingegrate cloudflare, it worked for a while and then it didn't. Support just waved it off as a region based problem. The performance benefit with cloudflare would have been great but with the integration not working, i'm stuck to using backblazes ugly file domains.

  ### 3. Robust and Cost-Effective Object Storage Solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luca P. | Chief Operations Officer DEQUA Studio | Formerly CTO in MarTech, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Working with cloud storage solutions over the years, I have tested and deployed numerous platforms ranging from enterprise-grade options to more budget-conscious alternatives. Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage stands out remarkably in this crowded landscape, and my experience with it has been overwhelmingly positive across multiple projects and use cases.

The pricing model is genuinely transparent and predictable. Unlike many competitors that bury costs in complex tiered structures or unexpected egress fees, Backblaze B2 operates on a straightforward pricing approach. Storage costs remain consistent, and the egress pricing is significantly lower than what I have encountered with other major cloud providers. This predictability has made budgeting for large-scale storage projects considerably more manageable. I can accurately forecast monthly expenses without worrying about surprise charges appearing on invoices.

The S3-compatible API is a feature I cannot overstate the importance of. When I first migrated workloads to B2, I was concerned about compatibility with existing tools and workflows. The S3-compatible interface eliminated virtually all of those concerns. Applications that were originally designed for Amazon S3 work seamlessly with Backblaze B2, requiring only minor configuration changes such as updating endpoint URLs and authentication credentials. This compatibility extends to popular tools like rclone, Cyberduck, Duplicati, and countless other backup and synchronization utilities. The transition process was remarkably smooth, and I did not need to rewrite any scripts or modify application code in meaningful ways.

Data durability is exceptional. Backblaze implements an eleven nines (99.999999999%) durability guarantee, which means that for every billion objects stored, there is an expected loss of less than one object over a decade. This level of durability is achieved through intelligent data distribution across multiple drives and facilities. In my experience managing critical archives and backup repositories, I have never experienced data loss or corruption with B2. The peace of mind this provides when storing irreplaceable data is invaluable.

The web interface is clean, intuitive, and functional without unnecessary complexity. Creating buckets, managing lifecycle rules, configuring access permissions, and monitoring usage are all straightforward processes. The dashboard provides clear visibility into storage consumption, bandwidth usage, and transaction counts. I appreciate that the interface does not overwhelm with excessive options while still providing the controls necessary for effective management. Navigation is logical, and most tasks can be accomplished in just a few clicks.

Performance has consistently met or exceeded my expectations. Upload and download speeds are competitive, particularly when using multipart uploads for larger files. The platform handles concurrent connections well, and I have not experienced significant throttling even during intensive backup operations. The integration with content delivery networks through the native Cloudflare partnership further enhances performance for distribution scenarios. Files can be served directly to end users with minimal latency when CDN integration is enabled.

Application Keys provide granular access control that I find essential for secure operations. Rather than sharing master credentials across multiple applications or team members, I can create specific keys with carefully scoped permissions. These keys can be restricted to particular buckets, given read-only or write-only access, and even limited by IP address ranges. This approach follows the principle of least privilege and significantly reduces security risks. If a key is compromised, the blast radius is contained to only the resources that key could access.

The Object Lock feature has proven invaluable for compliance and data protection scenarios. Implementing immutable storage for regulatory requirements or ransomware protection is straightforward. Once Object Lock is enabled with a retention policy, data cannot be deleted or modified until the retention period expires. This feature has been crucial for clients in healthcare, finance, and legal industries who must maintain unalterable records for specified durations.

Lifecycle rules automate storage management in ways that save significant time and reduce human error. I can configure rules to automatically hide or delete objects after certain periods, manage version retention, and keep storage costs optimized without manual intervention. Setting up these rules is intuitive, and they execute reliably. For archival workflows where data relevance diminishes over time, lifecycle rules have automated what would otherwise be tedious maintenance tasks.

The event notification system enables integration with webhooks and external services. When objects are created, deleted, or modified, B2 can trigger notifications that initiate downstream processes. I have used this capability to build automated workflows that process uploaded files, update databases, and synchronize content across platforms. The notifications are reliable and delivered promptly, enabling responsive system architectures.

Large file handling is well-implemented with support for files up to 10 terabytes through multipart uploads. The chunking mechanism allows for resumable uploads, which is critical when dealing with large media files or database backups over potentially unstable connections. If an upload fails partway through, I can resume from where it left off rather than starting over. This resilience has saved considerable time and bandwidth.

Versioning capabilities protect against accidental deletions and modifications. When enabled on a bucket, every change to an object creates a new version while preserving previous versions. I can easily recover older versions of files or restore accidentally deleted content. The versioning system is logical and the interface for managing versions is clear. Combined with lifecycle rules, I can implement sophisticated retention policies that keep recent versions readily available while gradually pruning older ones.

The support experience has been consistently positive. Response times are reasonable, and the support team demonstrates genuine technical knowledge rather than reading from scripts. When I have encountered edge cases or needed guidance on advanced configurations, the support interactions have been productive and informative. Documentation is comprehensive and regularly updated, covering common scenarios as well as more specialized use cases.

Integration with popular backup solutions is extensive. Veeam, MSP360, Arq, Duplicacy, and numerous other backup platforms have native B2 integration. This ecosystem of compatible tools means that implementing B2 as a backup target typically requires minimal effort. The partnerships and integrations continue to expand, making B2 increasingly versatile as a backend for various applications.

The Backblaze Fireball service addresses a practical challenge for initial large data migrations. Rather than uploading terabytes or petabytes over network connections, which could take weeks or months, Backblaze ships physical storage devices that can be loaded locally and returned for rapid data ingestion. While I have not personally used this service, clients with massive initial datasets have found it invaluable for reducing migration timelines.

Cap alerts and usage notifications prevent surprise charges and help maintain budget discipline. I can configure alerts at various thresholds for storage, bandwidth, and transactions. When usage approaches these thresholds, notifications arrive via email, providing opportunity to investigate and adjust before costs escalate. This proactive visibility into usage patterns supports responsible resource management.

Cross-origin resource sharing (CORS) configuration supports web application integration. When building applications that need browser-based access to B2 content, the CORS rules can be configured appropriately. The configuration interface is straightforward, and the rules are applied consistently. This enables scenarios like direct browser uploads and content serving without requiring proxy servers.

The bucket settings offer flexibility in access control through public and private configurations. Public buckets can serve content directly without authentication, which is useful for static asset hosting. Private buckets require proper authorization for all access, maintaining confidentiality for sensitive data. Switching between these modes is simple, and the implications of each are clearly documented.

Server-side encryption provides an additional layer of data protection. While data at rest is always encrypted by Backblaze infrastructure, server-side encryption allows for customer-managed keys and stricter control over encryption practices. For organizations with specific cryptographic requirements or compliance mandates, this capability addresses important security considerations.

The API rate limits are generous and sufficient for most workloads. I have rarely encountered throttling except during extremely aggressive operations that would stress any storage system. When limits are approached, the error responses are clear and include retry-after guidance that enables graceful handling in applications. The overall throughput available meets the demands of even intensive workloads.

Metadata support on objects enables rich tagging and categorization. Custom headers and metadata fields can store additional information alongside objects, which is useful for search, organization, and application logic. The metadata is accessible through the API and can be queried or filtered in various ways. This capability has proven useful for building intelligent storage applications that leverage contextual information.

The mobile application provides convenient access for monitoring and basic management tasks. While I prefer the web interface for detailed work, the mobile app is useful for checking status, viewing usage, and performing quick operations when away from a workstation. The app is well-designed and provides essential functionality without trying to replicate every desktop feature.

Intelligent tiering and the relationship between B2 and Backblaze's broader ecosystem create interesting possibilities. The combination of B2 with Backblaze Personal or Business Backup products offers comprehensive data protection strategies. While these are separate products, they complement each other well for organizations with diverse backup requirements.

The geographic availability continues to improve with additional data center regions. Having options for data locality supports compliance with data residency requirements and can improve performance for geographically distributed users. Region selection is made during bucket creation, and data remains within the selected region unless explicitly transferred.

Audit logging provides visibility into access patterns and operations performed against stored data. For security monitoring and compliance, these logs document who accessed what data and when. The logs can be exported and integrated with security information and event management systems for centralized analysis and alerting.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

While my overall experience with Backblaze B2 has been highly positive, there are areas where improvement would be welcome, and I believe acknowledging these limitations provides a balanced perspective.

The geographic footprint, while growing, remains more limited compared to hyperscale providers. Organizations with strict data sovereignty requirements or those needing to serve content from numerous global edge locations may find the current region availability constraining. While the existing regions serve many use cases well, additional locations in Asia Pacific, South America, and additional European countries would expand applicability. I have encountered scenarios where client requirements for specific regional data storage could not be met, requiring alternative solutions for those particular workloads.

Real-time analytics and detailed usage dashboards could be more sophisticated. While basic usage information is readily available, deeper insights into access patterns, performance metrics, and trend analysis require exporting data and processing it externally. A more robust built-in analytics capability would reduce the need for supplementary monitoring tools. I often find myself building custom dashboards by aggregating API data because the native reporting lacks the granularity and visualization options I desire.

The absence of built-in storage classes or intelligent tiering within B2 itself represents a missed opportunity. Unlike some competitors that offer automatic movement of data between hot and cold tiers based on access patterns, B2 maintains a single storage tier. While the base pricing is competitive, automated tiering could provide additional cost optimization for mixed workloads with varying access frequencies. Currently, optimizing for access patterns requires manual management or external tooling.

Object search functionality is limited to prefix-based filtering rather than full metadata search capabilities. Finding specific objects in buckets containing millions of files requires either knowing the exact key prefix or implementing external indexing solutions. A more powerful native search capability, perhaps leveraging object metadata and tags, would enhance usability for large-scale deployments. I have had to build separate search indices for projects where content discovery was important.

The console, while clean, sometimes feels basic compared to more feature-rich alternatives. Advanced users might want more sophisticated bucket policies, more complex lifecycle rule conditions, or deeper configuration options available through the interface. Some advanced configurations require API calls or CLI tools rather than being accessible through the web console. Expanding the console capabilities would reduce friction for power users.

Documentation, although comprehensive in many areas, occasionally lacks depth on edge cases and advanced integration scenarios. Some advanced topics are covered only briefly, requiring experimentation or support contact to fully understand. More detailed documentation on complex configurations, performance optimization, and troubleshooting would benefit the community. I have occasionally spent significant time discovering optimal approaches through trial and error that better documentation could have illuminated.

The webhook notification system, while functional, offers limited filtering and transformation capabilities. Notifications are triggered for broad event categories rather than allowing fine-grained conditions. Processing notifications typically requires implementing filtering logic in receiving applications rather than configuring it at the source. More sophisticated event filtering and payload customization would reduce downstream processing requirements.

Multi-region replication is not natively supported. For disaster recovery or high availability scenarios requiring data presence in multiple geographic locations, replication must be implemented using external tools. A native cross-region replication feature would simplify disaster recovery architectures and reduce reliance on third-party synchronization solutions. Building and maintaining replication pipelines adds operational complexity that native support would alleviate.

The mobile application, while useful for monitoring, lacks capabilities for more advanced management tasks. Modifying bucket settings, creating application keys with specific permissions, or configuring lifecycle rules all require the web interface or API. Expanding mobile functionality would improve management flexibility for administrators frequently away from traditional workstations.

Batch operations for bulk object management are limited. Operations affecting large numbers of objects, such as bulk deletion, metadata updates, or access control changes, often require scripting custom solutions. Native batch operation support would streamline administrative tasks for large-scale storage management. I have written numerous scripts to perform bulk operations that the platform could potentially handle natively.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Implementing Backblaze B2 has addressed several significant challenges across my projects and organizations.

The most immediate benefit has been the rationalization of storage costs. Prior to B2, storage expenses were unpredictable and growing faster than the data volume would suggest. The transparent pricing model and competitive rates have brought storage costs under control. Budgeting for storage projects has become more accurate, and the overall expenditure on cloud storage has decreased meaningfully while maintaining equivalent or superior service quality.

Data protection and backup reliability have improved substantially. Centralizing offsite backups on B2 has provided a consistent, dependable target for diverse backup workloads. From server snapshots to database exports to media archives, everything converges on a reliable platform. Recovery tests consistently succeed, and the confidence in backup integrity has increased. The durability guarantees mean that backup data will be available when needed, which is ultimately the entire purpose of backup strategies.

Operational complexity around storage management has decreased. The S3-compatible API eliminated the need for specialized integration work, and existing tools continue to function with minimal adjustment. Teams familiar with S3 workflows adapted quickly, and training requirements for new team members are minimal. The reduced operational overhead translates to more time available for higher-value activities.

Ransomware resilience has strengthened through Object Lock and versioning implementations. Immutable backups ensure that even if production systems are compromised, clean recovery points remain protected. The ability to guarantee that backup data cannot be encrypted or deleted by malicious actors provides meaningful security improvement. This capability has become increasingly important as ransomware threats have evolved and targeted backup infrastructure specifically.

Media distribution workflows have become more efficient through CDN integration. Content that previously required complex distribution infrastructure can now be served performantly with minimal configuration. The partnership with Cloudflare provides global edge caching without requiring separate CDN contracts or complicated setup procedures. Serving content to global audiences has become simpler and more cost-effective.

Compliance requirements for data retention and immutability are satisfied more easily. Industries with regulatory requirements for data preservation find Object Lock directly addresses audit and compliance concerns. Demonstrating to auditors that data retention policies are enforced technically rather than just procedurally strengthens compliance posture. The clear documentation of retention capabilities supports compliance discussions with regulators and internal audit teams.

Development and testing workflows benefit from affordable storage that closely mimics production environments. Developers can work against B2 storage with representative data volumes without budget constraints limiting realistic testing. The S3 compatibility means that code developed against B2 transfers to other S3-compatible platforms without modification, supporting flexibility in deployment decisions.

Archive management has been transformed. Long-term retention of historical data that must be kept but is rarely accessed now resides on a platform that maintains accessibility without excessive ongoing costs. The balance between cost and availability suits archival use cases well, and the confidence in data durability makes B2 appropriate for permanent retention scenarios.

Collaboration with external partners has been simplified through the flexible access control mechanisms. Creating scoped access keys for specific partners or applications enables controlled sharing without exposing entire storage environments. When collaboration ends, revoking specific keys cleanly terminates access without affecting other integrations.

The predictability of the platform has reduced risk in planning and executing storage projects. Understanding exactly how the service behaves, what it costs, and how it scales removes uncertainty from project planning. Capacity planning is straightforward, and growth can be accommodated without architectural changes or platform migrations.

✅ In summary, Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage has proven to be a reliable, cost-effective, and capable platform that addresses real-world storage challenges effectively. While there are areas where enhancement would be welcome, the overall value proposition is strong, and my experience recommends it for organizations seeking straightforward, affordable, and dependable cloud storage.

  ### 8. Immense Storage at an Unbeatable Price

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pablo M.

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

What I like most about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage is the price. It is almost 10 times lower than the competition and offers practically the same features. Additionally, it offers large amounts of immutable storage at a very competitive price. Basically, it delivers on what it promises.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Navigating through the buckets from the web interface is complicated when they are very large. With those that store VEEAM and have large amounts of data and files, I can only do it through the web interface. Additionally, the visualization of the occupied size often does not match what VEEAM says. Initially, we had problems transferring everything due to rate limiting issues. We also use B2 to store Prometheus/Thanos metrics, and when querying a lot of historical data, it also gives us rate limiting. It's not critical, but it would be great if it worked for that as well.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage for immutable backups and historical archiving, solving the problem of storing large amounts of data at a very competitive price.

  ### 9. Easy Integration, Cost-Effective Storage

Online services can always be cheaper and faster. However, We have had no issues meeting backup window targets and the price has been less than every other company we have looked in to.
Online file browsing could be more compatible with large datasets.
CLI tools could have more options for human readable output (rather than JSON), would be useful for epoch to localized timestamp information (needed for immutable file information)

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The B2 Cloud Storage service allowed us to have an extra copy (even immutable if desired) of our backups "In the cloud" at a reasonable price.

  ### 14. Simple Tiers and Flexible Data Transfer Options

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

No complex tiers, let's you download 3X of your free data storage and when your connection is slow, they offer to ship a hard drive to you, in order to copy your data.

your data is often on an "island." If you want to run heavy processing on your files, you usually have to move them to a different provider first.

They have a very low footprint of data centers

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

B2 charges a flat $6/TB. There are no "minimum storage duration" penalties and very few hidden API fees. You can actually budget for the year without needing a specialized finance degree.

  ### 16. A Reliable Cloud Storage Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alvaro H. | CTO CISO CDO, Construction, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Backblaze B2 stands out for its ease of use, smooth integration, and feature-rich platform. Setting it up is intuitive, and integrating it into existing workflows with tools like rclone or backup software is seamless. Its range of features—like lifecycle rules, bucket access controls, and CLI/API support—make it powerful without being overwhelming. It’s a service that just works, with minimal friction and excellent performance, especially when recovering data quickly.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

While Backblaze B2 is great overall, it could improve in a few areas. The initial implementation may require more technical familiarity, especially for users not accustomed to configuring APIs or CLI tools. Customer support, while functional, lacks the immediacy or depth of larger cloud providers. Also, for users with more occasional storage needs, the platform may not be used frequently enough to fully benefit from its capabilities unless it’s part of an automated backup strategy.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solves several key challenges: cost-effective offsite backup, long-term data archiving, and scalable cloud storage for media assets and project files. Compared to traditional cloud providers, it offers transparent pricing without complex tiers or surprise fees, which helps me better forecast storage costs. Its compatibility with a wide range of tools makes it easy to integrate into backup workflows, NAS devices, or automated systems. Thanks to B2, I can secure large volumes of data, access it quickly when needed, and avoid vendor lock-in, all while staying within budget—making it an ideal solution for both backups and active file access.

Big storage for a low price

  ### 28. Backblaze is an affordable and easy-to-use drop-in replacement for S3

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

I appreciate that Backblaze is simply and transparently priced and easy to plug into any system which can use S3.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

There are few downsides to Backblaze, but we do wish we had the option to use cold-to-frozen storage tiers at a lower price point for warehousing backup data long-term.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a cost-effective way to store VM and container-image backups offsite, and Backblaze really fit the bill for us.

  ### 29. Backblaze B2 Cloud storage review

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Their backup solution works seamlessly with no issues and is cost effective.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

I do not believe they provide any offline storage solutions, connected with their online backups

We keep digital asset the have been updated for the past two years for disaster recovery as a hot back up.

  ### 30. Reliable and cost-effective

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenneth K. | Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Backblaze has significantly higher availability than the S3-alternative cloud provider we switched from and will simultaneously save us money. We had problems with our previous provider and switched over to Backblaze the same day. We had a seamless experience onboarding despite the large amonut of data we switched over on short notice. Further, support has been excellent. We had an onboarding call and were able to speak with technical representatives who worked through our use cases.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

We primarily interface through the CLI and custom tooling, but find the front-end user experience is a little clumsy. We are logged out very frequently, which makes it hard to task switch when administring buckets.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed reliable, lower-cost hot storage for high-volume, distributed production workloads. We had problems with another lower-cost S3-alternative that caused us to switch to Backblaze in a hurry. We've found that we're saving money and improving the reliability of our services at the same time.

  ### 31. Easy and More Proactive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** PAULETTE E. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage is easy, runs in the background AND gives regular monthly reports which my previous cloud storage vendor did not. The fee also feels very reasonable with a lot of space provided for that fee.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

The report they provide on a regular basis is not necessarily written in terms a layperson (aka non-tech) can readily understand. Other than that, I love everything else.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trusted, safe automatic backup in case I have to do a restore at any point. It's also a duplication of what my external hard drive captures locally, giving me double coverage and peace of mind. I cannot speak to the ease of recovery since I have yet to need that feature, though I have the feeling it will be easy and complete.

  ### 32. A Reliable Solution for My Data Backup Needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Curtis H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Reliable: Backblaze Cloud Backup is a reliable backup solution. My data will always be available when I need it, and I don't have to worry about losing my files due to downtime or other issues.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

While Backblaze Cloud Backup is an excellent backup solution overall, one potential downside is that it only offers a single device backup plan. This may be limiting for individuals or businesses with multiple devices that need to be backed up. Additionally, while Backblaze's encryption technology is strong, some users may prefer the ability to use their own encryption keys for added security.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As someone who heavily relies on their computer for both personal and professional use, the thought of losing all of my important files is a major source of stress. However, since I started using Backblaze Cloud Backup, I have been able to breathe a little easier knowing that all of my data is safely backed up and easily retrievable in case of an unexpected loss or data breach. Backblaze's user-friendly interface and affordable pricing have also made it a seamless addition to my daily routine, giving me the peace of mind to focus on what really matters without worrying about the safety and security of my data.

  ### 33. Reliable and easy to use system backup capabilities

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brent B. | Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

I love the fact that I don't have to even think about settings or activating this thing - it just happens in the background and I get periodic updates reminding me that it is, in fact, backing up all my content.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

There's nothing really to say about the downside. It works exactly like you want and expect it to. I love the convenience.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have clients that demand that we have backup and recovery processes in place. As a startup, that wasn't something we'd spent tons of time thinking about and BackBlaze makes it easy for us to do without having to really do anything to make it happen.

  ### 34. It's a good cloud storage

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Its secure ability to store in the cloud

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

It can be slightly hard to navigate the admin side.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to secure store information in the cloud.

  ### 35. It just works

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam E. | Audio Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

I use both the computer backup and cloud storage services.

The computer backup is very low-maintenance, I don't get noise about issues. I have it set up to back up both a Windows computer and a Linux server and both of them seem to stay current without manual intervention.

I like that the cloud backup provides a lot of "standard" ways to send files including SFTP. Very flexible!

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Honestly there is not much I don't like. I wish there was more detail in the traffic reports for the cloud storage but that's not really what it's intended for anyway. (The frontend would be a better place to do that.)

**Recommendations to others considering Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage:**

I tried a few services and Backblaze is the best value. I was worried that their pricing structure would "nickel and dime me" but it's been the opposite experience. I'm spending less than I was, and happier with the result.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I tried several backup solutions and also really needed to grow into cloud storage to manage video distribution for live presentations. Backblaze solves both. I produce live concerts and events and sometimes need to move large files. I can upload them to the CDN and give clients a private link.

  ### 36. Great for archiving but not so great for navigating your archive on the cloud

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** JC C. | Visual Artist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

As a visual artist, the most important features of Backblaze are that it can handle my evergrowing archive of images in a very straightforward and cost-effective way giving me at the same time a feeling of peace of mind and trustworthiness.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

It is only an online backup drive for archival purposes, but it's not design to navigate the archive. If I try to browse the content of my body of work within Backblaze, I am faced with the limitation that there are not previews or thumbnails available. It is not a tool that takes into consideration people like me, but it is probably the best tool in the market for everything else. That's why I stick with them.

**Recommendations to others considering Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage:**

Make sure you don't need to access your files online, particularly if you work with image file formats.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Backblaze has given me the peace of mind that my images are stored in the cloud in a reliable and safe drive that is fairly simple to setup and it's cost-effective for my practice.

  ### 37. Best in the business and continuing to get better

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike R. | O, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

I've been using Backblaze and their computer backup program for years. It's been rock solid, and restores are super easy. It's so good, I brought them to my workplace and used them to back up every single team member's computers for peace of mind. With the increased growth of B2 now, it has become a crucial part of our arsenal of tools to protect our client's secure data.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

There's nothing to dislike. My only recommendation would be adding additional EU ingest points for B2 data (and maybe they have that, I don't know.)

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By using B2 for backup storage instead of AWS S3, we are saving hundreds of dollars a year in storage costs. Since its S3-compatible, we can use many existing tools, plugins, and APIs to get our data there quickly and easily. Hard to argue with the cost savings.

  ### 38. Undoubtedly the best cloud storage.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Franciszek D. | Entrepreneur, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

BackBlaze offers exceptional quality at an unbeatable price. Service stability, speed, S3 compatibility and convenient API are among the many advantages of B2. The service is ideal as a backup, content delivery network, or file sharing tool. Due to the characteristics of cloud storage I do not have to worry about additional security. Integration with cloudflare is something absolutely unbeatable.

Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Sometimes uploads to backblaze servers do not reach full speed. Additionally, the file management panel can be unintuitive. I think the team should improve the handling of file lifetimes and their deletions. It is not always fully intuitive.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Backblaze provides a seamless CDN. I also use it for file transfer and as an extra backup for my data. A huge benefit is the integration with CloudFlare allowing for even faster content delivery.

  ### 39. Good no-nonsense storage

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon F. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Easy to set up, not expensive, and you can group storage units by whatever you like - I group by client so I can logically separate the data. Billing is also shown by groups so I can easily see who to charge what.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Pricing could be lower for my use-case but it's fairly comparable to other solutions and is integrated with some of the systems I use, so it's easier to use this and pay than make another platform with the the systems I use.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Backing up client data from NAS devices is the primary use-case for me. We use QNAP hardware and the inbuilt software that is offered includes Backblaze as one of the storage providers. So ease of setup is strong here.

  ### 40. BackBlaze Simplifies Cloud Storage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jyll S. | President and Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

The two things that I appreciate most about Backblaze are the ease of setup and the responsiveness of their technical support team. Setup took me less than ten minutes and when I had an issue, their support team ressponded within a day to help!

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

I haven't had any issues with Backblaze. Rather, my irritation has been with other "connectors" that I need to connect to Backblaze. The only initial limitation is the amount of data you can transfer per day on a trial account.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A few of my clients were adverse to having their website backups stored in Amazon's S3. I needed to find an alternative and comparable solution that would satisfy their needs and provide the reliability.

  ### 41. Great Product and you know what your paying for.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan B. | Technical Support & IT Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Ease of use. The online views of the storage is great. The pricing is fantastic for the amount you get

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

A couple of things I'd like to see changed added is true company logins, easier for accountings to be able to see what is going on and make payments. And the ability to change the alerts a little more than what currently exists.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Secondary back up for our company storage. By setting this up quickly, I was able to get terabytes of data starting to be backed up after only a day of realization that it wasn't.

  ### 42. Amazing price, amazing quality

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Armando R. | Brand Manager and Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

The first thing that i love is the Price. It really has no comparison with Azure, AWS, or other big competitors which can cost 4 times more.
Then it has to be said. It works really well, that's exactly what we expect.
Its S3 Compatible.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

To be honest, the User interface could look a bit more modern and polished but that's just a personal preference. Regarding the product, I have no complaints at all.

**Recommendations to others considering Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage:**

If you feel your expenses on Amazon S3 or similar are becoming too high, maybe it's time to try alternatives for your object storage. Backblaze is a great alternative and you will save a lot.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Backblaze is helping to serve assets to some of my websites through their B2 Object storage service. With that said, it's helping me save money .

  ### 43. Solid AWS Storage Alternative

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** DJ R. | O, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

While many companies offer competitor solutions to AWS products like S3, backblaze is the only company I would trust my data with. They have been building this solution for years and have developed infrastructure rig comparable reliability to AWS and provide even more transparency with their customers.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Backblaze doesn't offer customer service over the phone, but that's not uncommon to see among companies in this space. In my experience, their email support is at least responsive.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Backblaze offers us a more affordable block storage solution for our cloud storage needs, while still providing enterprise-level reliability. Setup is also somewhat easier.

  ### 44. A wonderful backup system for my business

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colbe W. | Owner, photographer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

I enjoy the ease of use with my Synology system. Being able to backup every night automatically takes a massive load off my plate. Not to mention that the price and web access is also fantasitc!

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

If I had to find something, the online interface was inconsistent or easy when accessing files. One time, I had to recover some files, and the download kept failing repeatedly, and the site would disconnect.

**Recommendations to others considering Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage:**

If you are looking for an affordable and scalable cloud backup service that works with your existing hardware (Synology or other NAS systems), then look no further! Backblaze is simple to use and effective!

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm solving the problem of backing up my client's memories. As a wedding photographer, the need to have all my images secure at home and on a cloud backup is imperative.

  ### 45. Excellent service and quite affordable compaired to the competition. Highly recommended!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paris S. | System Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

I like the scalability, and the security options make me confident I am doing the right thing. What I liked is that I can set up two-factor authentication to my account using just... SMS I know it's nothing big, but it has its advantage over software solutions.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

There is nothing I dislike, everything is always working and I can always rely on the services.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can back up anything I want quickly, and I have many options to retrieve the backup.

  ### 46. Streamlined storage service at a great price

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua H. | Technical Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Backblaze's service is straightforward while supporting S3 APIs and has a solid tool ecosystem around it. It's priced very competitively and the egress arrangement with Cloudflare makes the costs ultra low.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

For smaller projects, they would benefit from a better web UI for file access.

**Recommendations to others considering Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage:**

Very fast to test out. Give it a try.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storing file sets for search analytic services that are made public to help open source search engines have richer and larger data sets to test against. The speeds are phenomenal and the costs are neglible.

  ### 47. 10 / 10 - Would Recommend!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Independent data centers and extremely cost-effective pricing deliver an exceptional return on investment for file storage and backup for our needs. We only have a couple of TB of data stored, but that data is mission-critical from a business continuity and disaster recovery perspective. As an added bonus, free egress for data transfer from AWS and GCP!!

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

New features and capabilities are released but they are often not well-publicized. A customer newsletter or bundling announcements with customer invoices and other communications might increase visibility into and adoption of these new services.

**Recommendations to others considering Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage:**

It's cost-effective and can provide you with another way to backup and protect your mission-critical data.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Off-site, georedundant data backup is the primary use case for our organization to use Backblaze.

  ### 48. Simple backup solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis C. | IT Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Backblaze is pretty easy to set up and is cost-efficient. I like that it it has no storage quota especially since I have multiple drives in use on my machine.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Recovery of files can be a bit tedious. Online web interface is clunky.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using it as a low cost backup tool. I also use third party applications that use Backblaze for storage for offsite backups of entire servers.

  ### 49. Backblaze low operating cost and perfect for your storage needs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dylan S. | Network Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Backblaze is what Amazon S3 should be. It's easy to use and integrated with the same software, but it's a fraction of the cost. It is opening the doors for not only large corporations but prosumers and home labs as well. I can incorporate it at work and for my personal use at home. For example, I use it for offsite backups using rclone.

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

The web UI could be more user-friendly and have more features for browsing, downloading, or uploading files.

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data loss is a terrifying occurrence, but in this day and age, it's unavoidable. Backblaze adds a layer of protection to losing data as now you can have it safely stored at an off-site third party. It's removing the risk of having all our data stored locally within buildings or data centers we use, even within my own home. I don't worry as often about losing all my irreplaceable pictures or company documents.

  ### 50. Excellent, worry-free service.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

There are never any glitches or problems in accessing our content. Peace of mind and instant retrieval is fantastic!

**What do you dislike about Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage?**

Can't think of a thing! Maybe if I'm nit-picking, possibly MORE emails would be good? Kind of the opposite problem that most companies have!

**What problems is Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are making a movie and the production team is scattered all over the continent. This helps us coordinate easier.
