Unlike other tools, this is truly made for wireframes. It doesn’t try to be a “jack of all traits” tool, it simply specializes in wireframes and does so really really effectively Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This isn’t one of the most necessary tools for me to complete my job as a user experience designer. The problem is that the tool is far from intuitive. The ability to easily create pages and interactions using a familiar layout of libraries, pages and actions. These features allowed for the creation of a fully functional prototype, plus additional conditions can be applied for even more realistic scenario development within the prototype. Certain library elements and menus, especially when using adaptive views are a bit buggy when exported as HTML but it is to be expected because the prototype is being built upon only front end languages and may not behave as perfectly as the fully developed application. Some other features and library items are not fully documented well, such as custom widgets. Hopefully further patches and updates will provide a solution to these minor issues. For complex UI, with a lot of pages, parts, areas, and components, it is not always straightforward to find your way around. Also, the main focus is drawing the UI with basic components, and I would have liked the tool to be more helpful in automatically evaluating the UX quality and recommend best practices. Our product requires quite complex prototyping, as it is too time consuming to iterate the actual product in many cases.

Axure provides a huge array of technical features that allows us to create those complex prototypes. By which I mean very particular functionality - the tools are flexible enough to create almost any behaviour, just by the fact that you can replicate programming logic (but you don't need to be a programmer!)

It's easy to achieve desired layouts and interactivity, you can nearly always replicate the intended design (even visually, if you need a realistic prototype rather than a wireframe).
