## About Axolo
Axolo is a bi-directional Slack & GitHub/GitLab integration. With Axolo, tech teams can collaborate on pull requests seamlessly. Each pull request creates a temporary Slack channel where all information (deployments, pull request checks, and code comments) will be shared. Axolo takes all of the normal back-and-forths on GitHub and Slack to centralize the conversation in ephemeral pull request channels. But this is only step 1! Features: 💭 An ephemeral Slack channel for each pull request: Axolo opens a Slack channel each time one of your collaborators opens a pull request. Only people that should be invited (reviewers & assignees) are invited. ⏰ PRs reminders: Set up Axolo to send daily reminders in stale PRs. 💻 A complete synch for code reviews: Each Github code review comment creates a new Slack thread. Then, the following comments from GitHub or Slack are sent to the other tool. 👀 High-level view on your team's PRs: With team-specific notifications, Axolo will send new pull request notifications in team channels and react upon the status of the PR (awaiting review, work in progress, mergeable, ...). 🤖 Approve pull requests with /lgtm: Developers can use /lgtm to approve a pull request directly in PR channels! 🏀 All your PRs are a command away: Ask /axolo open to show all open PR of your organization, /axolo me for your open PRs, and /axolo team [name of your team] to show all PRs from a specific team. 🕵️‍♂️ Organize your stand-ups with daily PR recap: You can set up Axolo to send daily PR recap to specific channels to organize your stand-ups. ⏳ Dedicated times for code review: Organize your time with code review time slots and let Axolo notify you only when you're available. Save your development sessions from distractions.

## Axolo Reviews
 ### 1. Game-changer for PR reviews

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ross M. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Axolo automates the toil away from PR reviews and integrates directly into your Slack workspace and GitHub organisation with 2-way sync. It makes the whole process relatively swift and totally improves your entire team's velocity. It also has extra features like scheduling summaries to be generated during your standup time. No more chasing up PR reviews, no more missed comments, no more stale PRs, just quick turnaround and rapid merges.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Honestly couldn't say anything bad about Axolo. It doesn't spam you with messages, it formats everything nicely and keeps everything in-sync.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reduces the burden of chasing up PR reviews, keeps everything in sync and keeps you informed about stale work.

 ### 2. It changed how we review code

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Franco F. | CIO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Ephemeral channels work really good, it changed how our team discuss code changes.
A nice side effect is that non technical colleagues can discuss changes in this channels.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Some type of interactions and thread do not map exactly to Github, but I think this is more of a GH limitation.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Slack for all our communications. It's awesome to not have to change apps to discuss code.

 ### 3. Keeps all communication in a single place.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Not having conversations split between tech channels in slack and PRs in Gitlab.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Occassionally some quirks in how things work, but pretty seamless and the dev team are very responsive.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being notified by Gitlab about updates in a PR seemed to be hit or miss. With axolo I can now see all PRs as slack channels, and communicate with my team as if I would normally in Slack. Has streamlined our review process and sped it up immensely.

 ### 4. Axolo integration with Slack is a great tool for Merge request and collaboration!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Keeping your Slack conversations aligned with GitHub pull requests ensures seamless collaboration with your teammates.

Receive instant Slack notifications regarding any updates or modifications to pull requests you're actively reviewing, simplifying your workflow.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Nothing really I think it is a great product

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes peer code review easier since it can be integrated with slack allowing you to review the merge request straight from slack.

 ### 5. A more natural way to discuss code changes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eli C. | Senior Staff Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

- Enables discussion of code changes in a more natural fashion (via chat)
- Allows easier monitoring of new comments on a merge request. Who uses email anymore?

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

- Emojis don't seem to sync, though this is limited by Gitlab's API.
- Editing comments can sometimes cause issues. It's generally better to avoid editing comments anyway though.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Axolo allows you to stay on top of your code reviews and provides a natural mode of discussing changes with colleagues.

 ### 6. Communicating about PRs has never been easier!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katt B. | Full Stack Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

The connection Axolo provides between GitHub and Slack makes tracking and reviewing the progress of PRs easy and convenient.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

It really is a great product that they keep improving. There isn't much to dislike.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We often lost track of who needed code reviews and where to keep the QA's feedback. Though we are moving in a slightly different direction now, it helps us monitor all of that in one convenient place.

 ### 7. A great tool to automate the busywork out of the software development process

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2024

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

The deeps slack integration is very powerful and intuitve. Users require no training on how to use it, and immediately userstand how it works and how it brings value over using Github with native or email notifications.
Intgreation is breeze and using oauth for github and slack, it can be installed in minues.
Users using it daily, and while it doesn't have million features, what it promises to do is done exactly as you'd expect.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

It needs a few more knobs to control exactly when and how you want to be notified, allowing users more granular control over the amount of notifications they receive.
sync between slack and github users can be improved.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shepherd the code review process using a slack bot

 ### 8. Great to organize your workload as a developer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

it keeps me up to date with what is everybody doing

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Nothing really I think it is a great product

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it helps organize task, communication over feature and tracking in general

 ### 9. A must-have tool for any company using Slack and GitHub

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madi A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Improves development velocity by unifying GitHub comments and Slack channels

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

I notice that reactions to a message sometimes do not get transfered to GitHub, but this is minor really. Another thing is having to match GitHub username with Slack username for every new colleague.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Axolo removed the confusion of where to discuss the GitHub PR. In PR comments or in a Slack message in a channel when asking for a PR review.

 ### 10. Amazing product we didn't know we needed till we tried it.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

How each pr created creates a new channel on Slack and how it has thread features on Slack that integrates well on Github PR.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

The 50 free PR/month limit is a bit of a bummer 🥲 but of course, every good product needs to sell

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Timely notifications after a PR has been created and when a PR has comments

 ### 11. Usefull for great review process

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Denis D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Axolo allows us to save a lot of time on review reporting by making it directly available to us in our Slack.
It also allowed us to gain in responsiveness.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

The ideal would be to be able to more easily identify the different projects to which the different MRs belong, which would save even more time and reactivity

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allowed us to save time in our review process, and to format it in order to have the necessary information at first glance on the review message

 ### 12. Very good tool to increase visibility of merge/pull requests

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Philippe D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

I think the merge request channels are by far the best features about Axolo. They allow assignee and reviewers to focus on their own stuff instead of searching through everything that exists

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

I wish there was some more customization for the daily stand up notification. We felt it was too noisy for us because of the drafts and just the sheer size of the message. I wish there was a way to customize the notification the same way we customize the merge request channel name

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Merge request visibility and reviews. For our users, it's tough to balance reviewing and developing in a way that does not involve refreshing GitLab constantly. Axolo allows us to focus only on what we are asked to review and prevent us from leaving forgotten merge request for multiple weeks

 ### 13. PR Just on TIme

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** otavio c. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

The chatbot notifications, which let me know the importants events.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

My team change the Axolo name to Otavinho. It's My name. LOL. Nothing to say bad about Axolo.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We don't nedd to access GitLab to our duties. On the slack we know all about the code production.

 ### 14. Cannot live without it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

- No more context switching between Github and Slack
- All the relevant PR URLs are pinned to the channel
- Sync works both ways
- Automated channel creation, invitations and deletion
- /lgtm slash command

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

- Perhaps it could use threads instead of channels

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reduces context switching between apps while coding which increses focus and productivity

 ### 15. Great tool for a smoother workflow!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Performing Arts | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Very easy to set up. Very easy to use. The tools doesn't come in your way, just privides the information you need when you need it.

The Axolo mascot is also incredibly cute!

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

We have not found anything that we dislike about it. The most annying thing is that Axolo can't create Slack channels with charachters outside of ASCII spec, like ÆØÅ.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Axolo has been been a great boost to our GitHub workflow in a small team of developers and designers. We use it to easily integrate with Slack so that we can focus on what needs to be reviews right now.

The Axolo mascot is also incredibly cute!

 ### 16. Blown away from the first Day.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Valentin P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

It forces us to work closer together in our engineering team.
With the daily reminder and the open chats in Slack we develop really fast now.
Feedback cycles are pretty small and we can either add comments in the code or in Slack - which is perfect for answering threads without switching tools.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

They removed the button for the MR in Slack lately - really loved it.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us communicate in one tool and iterate fast on Merge Requests. Most open requests are closed within 1-2 days nowadays.
We improved our development speed by good 20%.

 ### 17. Slack <> Gitlab sync for the win

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arthur K. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Their main pitch is spot on, we use it mainly for reviews and reminding people about open merge requests on our gitlab, and it delivers in spades.

Keep it up!

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

- gitlab hook got stuck, wasn't clear this was an issue until I contacted support, they answered promptly and fixed it
- maybe more gitlab customisation for number or revews etc

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing lots and lots of merge requests against a monorepo by a team of 20+ people.

 ### 18. Very helpful to speed up the review process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** João M. | React Native Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Very useful in the review process, always reminding those who are participating in the process that there is something pending. In addition to showing all updates directly on slack, without the need to always open github to check for updates or respond to them.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

I haven't encountered any problems while using it yet.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is speeding up the review process.

 ### 19. Axolo helped us streamline our GitLab Merge Request workflow

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard M. | Director of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

The automatic Slack notification of open MR and MR status change. Discussing an MR directly in Slack, in a dedicated MR channel is easier than switching to the GitLab UI. Also, the Axolo team is both very receptive to suggestions and fast to implement improvements and bug fixes.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

The Slack emojis on an MR reflect the entire lifecycle of the MR (all states it has ever been in). An alternative would be to show its current state only. Our team was slightly confused by this.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GitLab lacks adequate control over Slack notifications for Merge Requests. Axolo fills this void. We no longer need to cut and paste MR URLs into Slack manually. Axolo also reduces button-clicking in the GitLab UI, because Slack can be used to assign a Reviewer and also Approve an MR. We no longer need to watch for email notifications and context-switch to the GitLab UI to have the discussion -- Axolo automatically opens (and archives) a channel dedicated to the MR discussion.

 ### 20. Its great. It's helped improve our review process a ton.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christian R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Being able to chat about PRs within slack is awesome. It brings the visibility of issues and discussions right in front of the team quickly and easily. Things used to often get lost or state when just doing PRs on github.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

I wish the free version was for one more person because that is the size of our team :P

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helped our iteration cycle get much faster. People are quicker to review and re-review PRs.

 ### 21. Absolutely Awesome

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sergei V. | Head of Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Slack integration with GitLab works like magic. It helps to do code reviews much faster and more efficiently. As Slack is one place notification centre in our company, it is helpful to see what mrs, where you are a reviewer, is open to. Helps to receive notifications when someone answers on the discussion thread. We also use an additional review plugin for IDEA, which also synchronises comments with GitLab and axolo works great with this. Also, the team and support of axolo are ultra-client-oriented. They answered questions in chat fast and even arranged a call when we had some functionality thing to discuss.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Well, all core functionality is excellent. But if we need to find something to dislike, a minor problem will be synchronising images from slack to Gitlab and vice versa. Right now, this is not working.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Help to enlarge the speed and effectiveness of code review. Adds notification into any updates in code review, to react on it fastly.

 ### 22. Easy and non-intrusive implementation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Axolo allows for quick visibility on its PRs and to have a better workflow, this tool has allowed us to quickly inform the tech team of the latest updates on the PRs.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

no particular defect to declare, everything is very pleasant to handle. In addition, the tool is free which is very appreciable. Thank you team axolo!

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was not informed when my tech lead was making a change on GitHub, now with Axolo I am quickly informed via Slack, the creation of channels allows me to see how many PRs are pending.

 ### 23. Merge code faster

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Axolo helps prevent PRs from getting stale. It helps merge code faster and helps with keeping contributors accountable to eachother.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

At first the Axolo notifications felt quite noisy, and every so often I still feel that way.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us ship faster. We started having issues with PRs being stuck in review for too long and Axolo has helped reduce the review time.

 ### 24. Very very useful!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Renato V. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

It makes code reviews seem like a regular Slack conversation, hence making the process much much quicker, since all parties involved don't need to check for code review comments. It also makes it easier to reply than going to Github.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

I still didn't get very well how it notifies parties of new code reviews assigned to them. Sometimes it seems I have to start the conversation in Github, some other time it notifies me at certain hour.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Long code review processes due to parties being unengaged. Hence, helps the team get more effective code reviews and merge much faster. It also syncs the review status so I don't need to go to git hub to check it

 ### 25. Easy to get notified, review, and answer the questions.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

The slack integration is awesome. It always alarms me whenever a new pull request comes in, and it's very easy to answer the questions without going to Github directly.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

I think most of functionalities are great. They work excellent, but I think every PR has every new channel is a little bit annoying. I see it's the way to go, but if there's any other method, it would be much better.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of many problems we're facing is to review other people's code not just because we're interested in it but because we need to know the progress, blockers, and questions. Axolo is really helpful to be responsive for every PR and question.

 ### 26. Axolo helped us ship faster!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

The slack notifications were a game-changer for us! We constantly have many PRs open across different repo’s and attempting to keep up with all of them via email was a nightmare. With axolo our response time across the whole team is increased dramatically. There’s also often scenarios where find we want to continue discussing an issue offline (outside of GH comments), and the axolo channels are perfect for this.
I’ve also found the integration as a whole is quite impressive. The slack channel has direct links to the PR, commits, files changed, etc. Plus, each comment shows both a code snippet and includes a link to jump directly to the comment.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Nothing comes to mind - it’s truly a great product!

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dramatically speeds up the time with which we review and merge PRs, leading to faster product iteration cycles!

 ### 27. PR reviews made easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Parama K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

The PRs, all details associated with them are available in my chats! I don't have to have a github tab open or check emails continuously. Any update on a PR, I get a notification on slack! That is super convenient.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Well, if the channel names had the branch name, it would be easier for me to track

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves a lot of time by bringing PR updates to chat. I don't have to check my email or my GitHub notifications regularly. Any update is brought directly to my DMs which I have open at all times.

 ### 28. Provided the incredible efficiency we had been striving for!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Axolo streamlines our PR process! We manage most of our communication within Slack, so it felt so cumbersome to rely on Github's discussion board implementation. Additionally, it's convenient to focus on Slack notifications for updates instead of needing to manage and track Github notifications separately.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

The only issue we've encountered is links and formatting, sometimes not translating correctly from one platform to the other. However, whenever I've reached out for support, they responded promptly and assured me the matter is being looked into.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reducing the redundancy of relying on another platform's message board and notification system.

 ### 29. Very simple tool for speeding up code reviews

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew D. | Head of Product, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

We were struggling with having our team be responsive on code reviews. The notifications easily got lost, and it's hard to go back and forth on comment threads. Axolo makes this super easy by syncing each PR with a Slack channels, and utilizaing the capabilities of Slack notifications and threads.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Setup process was a bit buggy, but the support was responsive and got our issues resolved quickly.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improve speed of code reviews

 ### 30. Wonderful GitHub tracking tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Love how channels are created automatically for each PR, and are updated automatically as the PR changes (review, builds, additional commits). The automated reminder messages are also very helpful for ensuring timely reviews.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

It's easy to ignore Axolo's automated reminders. This can happen when there are many PR's open at the same time. It could be nice if there was a slightly more persistent message reminding people to review.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easily track PR status across our organization. See company-wide PR's in the #_axolo slack channel. See your PR's (and requested reviews) in their own channels that automatically open and close based on PR status.

 ### 31. Very positive experience overall. Small challenges with Gitlab integration.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stanislav M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Axolo helped us significantly improve our MR code review times, as well as general discussion about the MR changes and the process in general.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

The emoji use is sometimes a bit excessive (as others have commented), and the fresh Gitlab integration was having few hiccups. The hiccups were very quickly fixed!

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With multiple developer teams and hectic schedules, sometimes MRs can be in code review stages for days. The communication is also not as slick in Gitlab MR interface.

With Axolo, we have now MR discussions directly in Slack, lowering communication barrier. Our MR code review times has gone lower as well.

 ### 32. Solved all of our cluttered communications around pull requests, love it!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pouya R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

It makes it super easy to discuss PRs and get notified of comments, reviews, etc. vs having to ping people or channels separately.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Sometimes it can add more noise to slack, but that's a worthy tradeoff for having discussions about PRs be all over the place

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developer productivity

 ### 33. Axolo Reduces the time between Developing a Feature and Shipping it to Production

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Poorshad S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

It keep asking questions and puts funny comments so the person who is responsible for reviewing or other actions must take care of it!

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Nothing is wrong. We have used it for Gitlab and we are satisfied!

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keep asking people to check their Gitlab account!

 ### 34. Very helpful for developing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nic W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Has helped us all stay caught up on the development of our software, helping with reviewing code and making GitHub easier to use with the slack integration.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Not much to dislike about it, been pretty great.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us with our code review process and testing.

 ### 35. Reduced PR time-to-merge metrics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan L. | Director of Infrastructure and Reliability, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Axolo has made it easier to hold developers and QA engineers accountable for reviewing and merging pull requests on a timely basis. It has an extremely clean, two-way integration between github and slack that eliminates our need to check emails or context-switch throughout the day.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

It would be great if the team-specific slack channels were supported in the basic plan tier, this is an amazing feature but not worth the additional cost. Maybe as we get larger the cost will be justified by some of the additional functionality you receive from the upgrade, but as of now, this is the only feature we wish we had.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our average PR time-to-merge was 2.40 days before Axolo, this has been reduced to 1.51 days after only using it for 2 weeks.

 ### 36. The tool we needed for the daily work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manuel d. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

- I liked Axolo because it creates a channel for every open PR and notifies every status change.
- Axolo sends "friendly" reminder messages to those PRs that had been open for some time.
- It easier & faster to leave a message through Slack to some PR and the messages get synced to GitHub.
- Axolo has been getting updates constantly and that's good.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

- Most of the time, the tool works pretty well, but it can send a duplicate message when a channel is archived, so those notifications can be annoying.
- The price can be cheaper to attract more people.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duplicate messages have been an issue in the past and they've been working on fixing it, although it still happens rarely on occasion, not sure if it's due to GitHub or Slack services failing.

 ### 37. If you're using Github and Slack but not using Axolo, you're doing it wrong

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark G. | Chief Executive Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Github and Slack used to be communication silos for us - discussion about work would exist in one or the other and we'd lose shared context of the work being done. Not any more!

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Nothing. Axolo is a startup so the only "critique" I can make (if it's even a criticism at all) is that there's still plenty more useful features still to be added - but the team are super approachable about this and they ship quickly, so a great product is only going to get better over time.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Breaking down the Github and Slack communication silos. This is a huge win for developer productivity.

 ### 38. Forget opening Github just seeing reviews 🤯

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anubhav M. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

We used to send each other our Github PR links on slack to ask for a review. Having Axolo made it a zero-effort thing. Having discussions on slack is much more natural and Axolo does a great job doing it.

The support is amazing as well! Arthur and Sydney proactively reach out to ask if we're facing any issues and even released one feature request within hours!

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

We haven't noticed any downsides yet. I and my team are loving Axolo.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having Github comments delivered to slack directly as messages make PR reviews extremely efficient. We're able to save a lot of time using Axolo.

 ### 39. User-friendly tool to update MR and PR requests!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sergio R. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

How easy it is to follow MR/PR from any source, the notifications it gives the user when an event triggers (Comments, assignees, PR creation) and the chat that this tool creates in Slack to create comments in

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

I didn't see anything wrong with this tool yet

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The confusing flow of Github to follow a PR

 ### 40. Best tool to get PR reviews

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

It can remind people to give reviews. And all my PRs can be seen at a single place which helps in managing them

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Nothing as of now.......................

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For small team managing PR reviews is tough but axolo make it easy

 ### 41. Do you want to merge requests faster? Use axolo

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jorge M. | Software Engineer

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Axolo helps us to improve the MR review and merge process, since we used Axolo the releases are continuous and the dev team is happy.

There is no other tool that offers the same features as _axolo, the best product quality/price!

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

UI and UX improvements to execute quick actions like offboarding a user.

Integrate push notifications.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our team sometimes forgot to review MRs and this caused some changes don't release or skipped of the release.

Since we use Axolo the MR review process was improved because sending reminders to the team, is the best partner to avoid the MRs dying in the oblivion

 ### 42. Makes PR collaboration waaaayy better

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miguel I. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

The team loves Axolo, everything that we needed. The channel per PR just makes discussions on the PR way better and nudging people to review works really well too.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

So far I am not aware of anything that I dislike.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Make peer reviews faster and more effective

 ### 43. I no longer miss any updates to the PRs I'm interested in

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hrishi H. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Earlier:

Me: Hey Team Member (TM), please review this PR
TM: I already did, left a few comments.
Me: (Embarrassed) Ohh, let me check.

Now:
TM posts review comments, and I get notified immediately

Earlier:
Me: Hey TM, what's the status of this this task?
TM: The PR is up, fixed your review comments.
Me: (Embarrassed) Ohh, let me check.

Now:
TM fixes review comments, and I get notified immediately

As you can see, Axolo has saved me from embarrassing moments of not being on top of the latest PR status.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Sometimes, there's a lot of noise created by Axolo, if you are not interested. However, developers are trying to provide fine-grained controls over notifications.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped a lot in improving the PR lifecycle in our team.
As an author, I know what review comments I need to address or what PRs are approved.
As a reviewer, I know what PRs I need to review.
Thus, the time taken to act on PRs has decreased, increasing our productivity.

Most importantly, there's a dedicated space for discussing a specific PR.

 ### 44. Shipping speed, to the moon!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Automatic Slack channel creation/deletion for a PR, Instant updates on the Slack group when changes are requested on the PR, Synchronization b/w Slack and GitHub

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Some people on team find it a bit irritating as they had activated GitHub notifications as well, so they get notifications both from Axolo - Slack and GitHub...

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Faster PR reviews and hence, super duper fast shipping velocity.

 ### 45. Axolo is the app I've always wished for.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dee E. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Ive been a CTO at various companies for a decade now. One of my biggest pain points has always been PR review responsiveness. I've tried so many home baked solutions. Axolo is the app that solves the problem perfectly.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Not much. The team is responsive and helps through any bugs or feature requests. No complaints.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PR review responsiveness

 ### 46. Been an early user & have not found anything else which comes close to improving our PR workflow

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** 👨🏻‍💻 Akshay K. | Head Of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Love the way Axolo helps us maintain sanity across our PR reviews & keeping the entire team on top of what needs their attention.

In addition, I love the way the product has evolved over the past few months. The team listens to the customers & delivers above & beyond!

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

The number of channels sometimes can become quite overwhelming when we have a lot of PRs open. It would be great to have a way to auto organize channels but I guess slack API doesn't provide that functionality yet

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Improving the turnaround time for PR reviews
- Fixing the problem of stalled conversations in PR comments

 ### 47. Great product and requested by our dev team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandre A. | CTO & Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Axolo is very useful for our dev team, we are using it for more than two weeks and it really makes PR review easier and faster, especially for discussions in comments.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

At first, we received a lot of messages for each new PR but after some customization and time slots creation, it's now much easier. Maybe some timeslots should be created by default.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PRs that wait to be reviewed

 ### 48. Your friendly PR "butler"

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

The fact that notifies you whenever a pull request is created, all the comments, and test results and keeps it clean is a no-brainer for us. Additionally, the fact that reminds you of any pending PR helps in unblocking code development among developers.

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

Some of our developers do not see a clear difference between integrating GitHub and Axolo.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The first thing that solves was that we were not aware of pool requests, or having to check the mail for PR, greatly facilitating our development workflow. The seamless integration with Slack and how it keeps it clean has really help us on not having pending PRs.

 ### 49. Great product for tech teams

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Louis D. | CTO

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Beneficial product that helps your team communicate more easily on PR without loosing focus by switching between slack and github

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

The only small cons is the UX, it's not always easy to understand how to configure the product

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- More efficient review, they are merged faster
- Less context switching because it centralized the a part of the review on slack

 ### 50. First-class treatment of code reviews

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob B. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Axolo?**

Axolo is an incredible tool for connecting PR's with our everyday engineering discussion on slack. It integrates seamlessly and makes it so as a manager, I never lose track of my engineers' work. For my engineers, it allows them to discuss and collaborate without losing a thread in different contexts. Overall it keeps us moving swiftly throughout the sprint and continuously reviewing and merging code!

**What do you dislike about Axolo?**

The pricing, while cheap, can feel disproportionate, say, compared to a GitHub Teams plan. That being said, it's more than delivered on its value. I think there are still some improvements to be made regarding re-authenticating flows, but those seem to be more limitations of Slack than Axolo itself.

**What problems is Axolo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PR / MR review is a critical part of any software development lifecycle but is often overlooked and not given the first-class treatment it deserves. Additionally, action items, notes, and context from these reviews are often lost when that PR / MR is closed. Axolo helps keep the discussion flowing and makes sure we give code reviews the time and attention they deserve.
