It's understandable why this is done for security reasons, but this forces you to use either CloudFront or ELB if you want to make use of free certificates, both of which come at an additional fee, even if you don't need caching or multiple servers. Also, I wish validation/renewal was easier for domains linked to Route53. (If I have access to redirect emails through another server, what is the point in sending out verification emails?) **Recommendations to others considering AWS Certificate Manager:** Note that you need to use ELB or CloudFront to make use of the certificates. **What problems is AWS Certificate Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?** Costly SSL certificates when owning many domains. ### 3. Chrome likes to complain when a site doesn't allow it to present on https. ### 6. Also it's easy to implement and to integrate into aws services. Fast certificate issuance and customization for additional names. **What do you dislike about AWS Certificate Manager?** That the certificates for external applications do cost more than with other certificates authorities. **Recommendations to others considering AWS Certificate Manager:** Great to integrate in few steps with Wordpress and Joomla. **What problems is AWS Certificate Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?** CDN implementation and integration with web plaforms like Wordpress, Joomla and custom developments. I have implemented it with AWS Cloudfront very easy and straightforward. ### 7. AWS Certificate manager allows us to easily create the certificates and deploy them to our applications with a few clicks. The process is easy and has saved us both time and money. ### 8.
