I enjoy using pro-tools because this program is very versatile and flexible. So many tools and plug ins that musicians and engineers can take advantage of. I worked with sound for a few years now and by far this is the best program when it comes to sound design and mixing. Pro-tools took a little but to get the hang of, but it is worth it. In addition, it's also considered to be industry standard. Once program is learned, users have a greater possibility of entering a field of sound engineering. Pro-tools does require a special key to run the program, called dongle. If this key is lost or stolen, program cannot be used until the dongle is replaced. The program is very expensive and it needs a specific audio interface. It is not home user friendly because Pro-tools is meant for professional use. I like the interface. Easy to navigate. I love their "smart" tool, which makes it easy to toggle between highlighting, grabbing clips, or creating fades depending upon which part of the audio clip the mouse is hovered over. I like the newer ability to bounce tracks offline (instead of a 4-minute track taking 4 minutes to bounce down to a final mix file, it's done in around 10 seconds).
