I can use this service just by looking at the code. I implemented SMS/email authentication service for the first time using twilio and it's been my GO to authentication solution ever since. it is easy to integrate in any application and has support for all most widely used programming languages. I did'nt faced any dificulty as such but i heard from a friend that twilio has a great community/customer support. **What do you dislike about Twilio Verify?** Although i faced this challenge once but i have seen that it was taking almost 10-15 minutes for getting a SMS on phone. I did'nt know the proper reason but assumed Twillio cloud must have faced downtime. So when considering scalability for my app, I need to consult with them and use proper services. Other thing is COST ... i like that they provice free trial. but they can ease their costing for small business. **What problems is Twilio Verify solving and how is that benefiting you?** Twillio API solve almost all the MFA authentication related problems, I am a fan of TOTP and SMS authentication... I wish we could have more functions in sharing the tokens with individual users. Authy stores all the Connected Accounts, and one could quickly restore the stored Authentication Tokens with a Backup Password. I have about 6 different apps 2FA tokens linked with the Authy app. Whenever I need to sign into one of my accounts, it only takes me 10 seconds to open Authy and get my code. I also like how Authy offers security options for the app like FaceID. It just works and does what you need to do. I find it to be the best 2FA authenticator app I have used so far. **What do you dislike about Twilio Verify?** There's been nothing I dislike about my Authy experience thus far. Having a Desktop instance is fantstic! **What problems is Twilio Verify solving and how is that benefiting you?** Authy is a FANTASTIC Authenticator. It allows me to easily have my authenticator on multiple devices (phones, desktops, tablets, etc). Consider it is so easy to migrate from one device to another with a QR Code I keep this on multiple devices in case one gets lost, or damaged. Once you get going on this thing, not only does it keep your keys backed up, but allows you to easily port your keys to another device in a snap. Recovery is a breeze! ### 19. For instance, if I change my smartphone device, I won't lose access to my tokens since I just need to log in to my Authy account. This is not a standard feature across authentication apps, and for that reason Authy is my favorite one. **What do you dislike about Twilio Verify?** Despite the great features of this app, what I like the least about Authy is just the aesthetics. For instance, logos of some products/services are not yet available on it, and that can be painful when trying to find and access the correct tokens. Before Authy, I lost access to my 2FA devices multiple times and was locked out of critical accounts to my business. Now that I have found Authy, losing or breaking one of my devices is not a complete disaster. In just minutes, I can restore my accounts in Authy and access all of my 2FA logins again. The ability to restore my 2FA data is such a lifesaver, and I really can't imagine going back to life without Authy! **What do you dislike about Twilio Verify?** I don't particularly appreciate that Authy constantly asks me to enter my backup password to be sure I have it memorized. I can understand the need for such a feature, and it does make sense, but I wish there were a way to turn it off. I know my password, and verifying it for no reason seems like it increases the possibility that someone sees me type in my password. While not a deal-breaker by any means, having the option to disable the backup password reminders would make Authy better for my uses. **Recommendations to others considering Twilio Verify:** If you are considering using Authy, my recommendation is to begin using it immediately. I have not found any 2FA solutions that come close to being as good as Authy. **What problems is Twilio Verify solving and how is that benefiting you?** I find it very frustrating that nowadays, a mobile phone number is basically an online identification, and losing access to a phone number or getting a new one means losing access to accounts that were set up with that phone number. In some cases, I have multiple different accounts for a single website or service. I will provide virtual numbers when a phone number is required. However, virtual numbers are often lost if I don't use them often enough. This means losing access to the accounts I set up with that number. Using Authy, I can set up 2FA independently of the phone number. And if I lose access to one of the virtual numbers, I don't lose access to the accounts associated with the number since my 2FA token is provided via Authy rather than SMS. Now I feel so much more confident when setting up a new account with a virtual number that I can still access that account in the future. I also now set up 2FA for many accounts which before Authy, I would have only used passwords and SMS for security. So not only does Authy help ensure I always have access to my 2 step verification info, it also causes me to use 2 step verification more often. Overall, Authy has increased the security and access to my many different online accounts. ### 21. Also, sync speed between different platforms is super fast and it is password protected. Also, we can control all devices from a single device which can be useful if one of our device gets lost. **What do you dislike about Twilio Verify?** I would like to see more documentation on how our things are private and safe with authy because it is not an open source app. Maybe they should release a white paper telling us their methodology behind their backend. **Recommendations to others considering Twilio Verify:** I would recommend everybody to switch to Authy if you are using Google Authenticator or something similar. Google Authenticator haven't got an update for many years and it is not cloud based, so if our device get's lost, we might lose access to all our accounts online. Authy is a much better and safe option to achieve 2-factor authentication. **What problems is Twilio Verify solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Authy for almost all my online accounts for 2-factor authentication. I have installed the app on multiple devices and I use it on all of them to quickly get the access code for the online accounts. It's easy to use and looks pretty good on Android. They also have good support in case you run into any issues. **What do you dislike about Twilio Verify?** The entire login system is pretty Hank in my opinion. I have had issues with logging in so many times. Changing devices or changing your phone number or email address is another pain in itself and requires a lot of things. I've had to contact support multiple times because I wanted to change my phone. **Recommendations to others considering Twilio Verify:** Authy has apps on Android, iOS and Windows, and they're all pretty great but be sure to backup your Authy account itself if you plan on changing devices. **What problems is Twilio Verify solving and how is that benefiting you?** Authy has One-Touch support for quite a lot of vendors so instead of a code you just "approve" the login. Authy is a 2FA verification software that we can use for free, it is simple, fast, easy to use and what I really need it for is SECURITY. I have it installed on my desktop computer and on my mobile device and the synchronization works wonderfully. **What do you dislike about Twilio Verify?** I have no negative points to add to the experience I've had with this software. **Recommendations to others considering Twilio Verify:** The security of our accounts today is important, imagine the impact it would have on a parent if someone accidentally accessed their payment processor or bank account and withdrew all their savings, it would be a big blow, therefore today we must take security very seriously. **What problems is Twilio Verify solving and how is that benefiting you?** With Authy, I cover almost 90% of the applications and accounts on websites that I use today. Currently, all companies like banks, payment processors, exchanges, etc., offer the 2FA login method, and many even require it due to security policies. Simply by going to the settings section of each of these applications, it is possible to activate the 2FA method (two-step verification), which basically consists of entering our username and then the password, for example, on PayPal; it then asks for a 6-digit code that is generated every 30 seconds in the Authy app. This code must be entered mandatorily to log into my payment processor account. Previously, and still in use, is 2FA via text message, which is very ambiguous and can be manipulated if a hacker somehow clones or manages to get your phone number. With software like Authy, this shouldn't happen since, even to access the six-digit code for any of our accounts, we can previously set up another secure password. ### 32. You won't lose your data since all your connections are stored within your account. You do need to set a master password to unlock the connections. When logging into Authy from a different IP/Country you'll get notified and prompted to fill in a security code which you receive by email. **What do you dislike about Twilio Verify?** Sometimes a 2FA code isn't accepted, it appears that the cycle that Authy uses doesn't align with the one that the website uses. They're a small company that will only be contactable through email and they give you the typical 'I'm sorry I'm not able to do that' run-around despite providing literally every required bit of information. If there's ever a compromised phone, email, computer, etc. there is far too clunky of a service with horrid customer support. Their website doesn't work and won't allow you to merge your accounts, change phone numbers and despite offering the ability, they have done precisely nothing but take money out of a customers pocket by refusing to provide their own mission-statement of keeping accounts secure. A phone number was discontinued for severe privacy concerns, and the account that holds all your information, passwords, emails, etc. will not allow you to change any information or access your services. I absolutely recommend using an encrypted service alternative to Authy. The company is too all-inclusive and disgustingly negligent with their already small customer base. ### 47.
