Appliku is a managed deployment platform for Django and Python teams (FastAPI, Rails, and Next.js too). You get the Heroku experience, git push to deploy, managed Postgres and Redis, background workers, automatic SSL and Nginx, but your app runs on a server you own, on any cloud (DigitalOcean, AWS, Hetzner, or any VPS). The difference from hosted platforms: you keep control of cost and avoid vendor lock-in, because you bring your own cloud account and pay the provider directly. The difference from self-hosted, open-source tools: Appliku runs the platform and keeps the server healthy for you, so patching, backups, and deploys never become your job. I've used services like Heroku, Vercel and Render before because I didn't have time to go in-depth with Docker. Appliku started for me as a stop gap while learning Docker after migrating from those platforms. But then, I realised that Appliku made things a lot simpler and easier to use for me. I like Appliku's customer support, which is great and available for free nearly all hours of the day. The ease of use is another strong point for me, making it super easy to manage VPS infrastructure. I also found the initial setup of Appliku to be pretty easy, which allows me to focus on the applications and delivering value to users instead of worrying about the infrastructure. As a semi-technical founder, it's offered a lot of piece of mind to have the combination of sensible security defaults provided by a team of dev-ops professionals, and amazing customer support if anything goes wrong. I also really like that it saves me a lot of money on paying for managed dbs from my VPS provider since it makes it practically automatic to manage them yourself (a few clicks to setup a backup is about it). And that I can now manage apps from Claude Code, which means I don't even have to click through the UI anymore. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Appliku? And the support is incredibly responsive (and provided by real humans who understand the issues, so it helps me feel secure that when things go wrong, they'll be resolved quickly). If anything, I’d like to see a few more in-depth quality-of-life features, such as some kind of visualization of Cronjob logs that makes it easy to confirm they’re running properly. I like the push to deploy feature in Appliku. It offers a push to deploy CICD experience similar to Heroku but with the flexibility of letting me bring my own cloud.
