We can also run federated queries using the HAWQ. This software also enables us to use the tools to deal with a wide-set range of data. It is basically a SQL Query engine. **What do you dislike about Apache HAWQ?** The Major problem we can encounter is that if the instance or the master instance is down then the users around would not be able to connect . It is not the fastest SQL engine available in the market, while we think Actian Vector H is the fastest. If I am going to work on semi-structured data then I would prefer to use drill and query. **What problems is Apache HAWQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is a very capable product and we are using it for metadata dispatch and for dealing with the PETA range of data sets. We are using it with Power BI applications and visualization tools as HAWQ is compatible with them plus we also used it for nested queries. ### 3. For me it's the fastest SQL query engine on Hadoop. Also the quality and the completeness. HAWQ has much better performance than Impala on queries with large joins, rollups, or complex sub-selects. **What do you dislike about Apache HAWQ?** There are some better option than HAWQ in terms of speed, which approved by many users. But personally I found it more suiting. **What problems is Apache HAWQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use this to reads data from and writes data to HDFS natively, also use this to cloud deployment, multiple level of partitioning, optimization and to access of all HDFS data and external system data like HBase. ### 4. No need of map reduce.Easy to scale understand and scale up. **What do you dislike about Apache HAWQ?** Has limitations when huge data involved. **What problems is Apache HAWQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were looking for a big data analytical engine which was SQL based so that we don't have to write complex map reduce code. It's similar to greenplum and teradata so getting resources to work and scale up was easy. It was fast and data processing was accurate and reliable. ### 6.
