On top of that, the performance is amazing compared to other software out there. My only real gripe with Ant Media Server right now is that adaptive bitrate streaming and the WebRTC codec aren’t available in the on-premise Community Edition. In this day and age, I consider that an essential capability for reaching lower-bitrate devices and connections, especially when the stream is being hosted on hardware the individual already owns. We installed the whole video streaming side via RestAPI within 2 days and continued to develop our application at our side. AntMedia provides speed and scalability for our video-based listing service. It was crucial to us simply because people do not want to wait the next listing to load or play, despite their poor connection. As we develop an MVP with limited resources, AntMedia has given us a solution for fast entry to the market. For me, it's the perfect balance — we can tweak low level things and access the raw streams if we want to, but we don't have to. Some of the best parts of our Ant Media experience have been: - The ease of deploying on AWS - The cloud portability - The ease of scaling - The ease of integrating with other systems - The plug-in architecture (easy to extend funcionality) - The support offered by their engineers Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Ant Media Server? There's nothing really that I dislike about it. The only potential downside (which you're unlikely to come across and might not be a downside if you have the skills), is that the source code is Java. You won't even notice this in normal use, but it just means that if you want to write your own plugin, you'd need to do that in Java. Java's a good choice of language for this kind of thing, though, and Ant Media's team will probably help you if needed. For the vast majority of use cases, you won't need to write your own plugins. Ant Media already does what most people will need 'out of the box' ,with SDKs for JavaScript, Flutter, Unity, React Natvie, iOS and Android. They also provide pre-made plugins for some pretty cool stuff, including Tensorflow analysis — so you're unlikely to be writing your own unless you have very specific applications. Ant Media allowed us to develop our proof of concept within weeks rather than months. It provides powerful WebRTC features within a very elegant scalable architecture that allows us to easily access raw streams for analysis and processing for our application's specific needs (which are to do with large crowds). Ant Media Server is infrastructure, which is what I am looking for. It is the best in class for a wide variety of video streaming use-cases, focusing on performance and flexibility. It is great that there are a variety of solutions in the market such as AWS and Linode who support Ant Media server turn key installation of the server, this makes it very easy to get an instance up and running quickly. For The AI Music Video Show, we need a solution that allows for our immediate needs including live streaming, and linear live streaming to a variety of social media destinations. We were able to get this running very quickly by uploading our files and configuring endpoints, now our music video channel can stream to our audience 24x7 without interruptions. Because we intend to grow the variety of video oriented solutions and products we offer, the scaleability and the flexibility of the Ant Media Server are the two things I like best, as we grow our audience I do not worry about our ability to handle the load, and as we innovate with new ways to use generative video for entertainment, I am confident the Ant Media Server will be a core utility we can count on. Finally, I really appreciated the personal touch the team provides new customers onboarding for the first time, the customer support has been really fantastic and helpful.
