Best-in-class data warehousing, integrations, support and maintenance services provided by AWS over Redshift with state-of-the-art data warehousing pipeline building and concurrency scaling features

**What do you dislike about Amazon Redshift?**

The batch processing disallows real-time data ingestion and analysis, impacting reporting and data consumption at other ends. Also, sometimes challenges occur when loading/unloading massive data at once or with complex queries

**What problems is Amazon Redshift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Redshift is cost-effective, high performing platform which helps us in keeping all our columnar data at one place and use other AWS services like Glue, S3 etc for better integration and data consumption

Amazon redshift is very easy to use, with an intutive user interface that allows users to easily manage their data warehouses without any need for extensive technical knowledge. One of the best part of redshift is that it is highly scalable and it could scaled up to match changes in data volume.
Amazon Redshift is highly scalable platform, you don't have to worry about scale and changes in data volume, redshift can handle it. Cost-Effective: Amazon redshift have pay as you go model which makes it a very good choice if your data is very dynamic and it can scale up or down according to y your needs and makes it a really cost-effective data warehousing platform. Security: For any datawarehouse security is a must and redshift handles it really well, the platform provides robust security features such as encryption, access control and audit logging.

**What do you dislike about Amazon Redshift?**

While I would say that amazon redshift is easy to use but it becomes complex as data volume and workload increases. Also it is optimised for batch processing of very large data but for ad-hoc and realtime analysis.

**Reviewed by:** Ray H. | Analytics Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Amazon Redshift?**

Everything being contained in the AWS environment is a big plus. S3, Redshift, Spectrum, MWAA all working together and billed together. It's a lot easier to get approvals and such. It also has a lot of support with external tools such as dbt.

**What do you dislike about Amazon Redshift?**

There are some very specific problems related to my use case (analytics engineering). The documentation around SUPER fields was awful and it was hard to figure out how to use them. Also bizarrely there is no IF statement in Redshift queries. Comparing it to Presto, there are a lot less functions.

**What problems is Amazon Redshift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is very easy to connect Amazon Redshift to a lot of our tools such as dbt and Looker. It is unlikely I would work at a place that did not have their analytics database in the cloud.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Amazon Redshift?**

If on AWS, Redshift is a great option for a data warehouse. For medium-sized data, this is a great way to manage, update tables. It works well with it's extension, Redshift Spectrum.

**What do you dislike about Amazon Redshift?**

Having always-on compute can be expensive if workloads are not consistent.

**What problems is Amazon Redshift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Redshift has been a longstanding and helpful tool for us. It manages medium-sized data, and helps us make it available to all of the various customers and business stakeholders.

  ### 31. Very good MPP database in cloud.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bimarsh P. | Data Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Amazon Redshift?**

With proper distribution style, compression, and data model, brings superior query performance. WLM queue is another great feature that helps manage the workload by provisioning proper memory allocation and concurrency levels for different user groups.

**What do you dislike about Amazon Redshift?**

Being the columnar database, the performance optimization technique is centered around the data colocation strategy using the proper distribution style. However, lack of ability to manage data in multiple partitions is sometimes challenging in scenarios where one needs to deal with a multi-tenant environment. Another challenge is a tradeoff between dense storage and dense compute nodes - in current days where storage has become very cheap, the storage cost of Reshift is still very high. Often it is difficult to choose between compute over storage or vice versa.

**What problems is Amazon Redshift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The availability of high performant data warehouse in the cloud has helped many companies like ours get the best performance with a decent monthly budget, without spending thousands of dollars on managing expensive servers and licensing in the on-premise data center.

  ### 32. Advantages of redshift

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abhirup M. | Database admin senior analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Amazon Redshift?**

It is very faster due to columnar data storage. Easy to deploy code.
Can be scaled quickly and most importantly is very secure. Cost effective.

**What do you dislike about Amazon Redshift?**

Redshift doesn't have any tool to ensure data uniqueness. There can be redundant data points.

**What problems is Amazon Redshift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Code deploy in very less time.

  ### 33. Perfect tool for DWHs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Iván R. | VP of Data, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Amazon Redshift?**

Everything, the performance, management, and efficiency of the clusters are excellent, in addition to the integration with the rest of AWS services like S3 and Kinesis.

**What do you dislike about Amazon Redshift?**

The truth is that nothing in particular, maybe the only thing I miss is a specific client that matches everything it can offer, but as a tool itself, nothing to reproach.

**What problems is Amazon Redshift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provide a comprehensive solution to all the necessary requirements of a data warehouse, both in terms of storage and exploitation with business intelligence tools.

  ### 34. It's nice platform Software as Service

It offers ample amount of commands to be used especially for uploading of data to files. You can also use in to unload different types of files and in parts as well.

**What do you dislike about Amazon Redshift?**

It is very difficult to integrate it with other AWS resources as it invoices a lot od hustle woth security constraints and access issues. This can be simplified.

**What problems is Amazon Redshift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is great database warehouse. As the data is increasing day by day, it holds a lot of table with many datatypes. It has been very useful when analysing business data via a ETL process.

**What do you like best about Amazon Redshift?**

It's highly scalable and offers low latency / managed cloud data management solutions for analytical workloads. The documentation is one of the best across cloud providers!

**What do you dislike about Amazon Redshift?**

I wish it could have offered better integrations with other data warehouses and data sources from different cloud providers/data center, which would be most needed to make multi-tenant setup easy for Analytical workloads, which is often from diverse sources and platforms.

**What problems is Amazon Redshift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a low latency and managed solution to make an efficient data warehouse and run analytics on top of these sources.
It helps us by providing scalability managed by the cloud provider, and it's also cost-efficient in the long term.
