When CentOS moved upstream of RHEL we needed to find another clone to use as our primary Linux distro. We liked Alma because it worked in the same way that classic CentOS did as a free distro. We couldn't afford to license RHEL for the couple dozen Linux hosts we have, and had used CentOS for years. Alma was a very strong alternative to CentOS. Managing Alma servers is the same as managing RHEL, CentOS, and Rocky servers. The knowledge learned on the other distros is totally transferrable to Alma. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Unlike Rocky that aims to be bug for bug compliant with RHEL, Alma does choose to diverge from RHEL in some minor ways. However so far we have not seen any real issues from that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
