The system has had many updates and integrations since we first started using it. I least like that you have can't do almost everything right in the load and that you have to go to other screens if you want to do something like add a comdata code. What problems is Descartes Aljex solving and how is that benefiting you? it helps solve the problem of finding capacity at times when i am able to search for carriers who have run a certain lane or one close to it. I find Descartes Aljex very user-friendly, especially appreciating the ability to adjust the board to my preference. The layout helps me stay organized and I love being able to quickly look through my board and see customer, pickup/delivery, rates, and carrier all in one place without having to scroll, which saves a bit of time. Well for drayage specifically - There isn't a Steamship Line, or Railroad carrier box - and batch building is limited to 10 only. My request would be to add those areas in, and also when batch building - if drayage - allow the containers number to be input in side bars to go ahead and create each duplicated load with a corresponding container number. Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) 3/16/2026 "Efficient TMS with Intuitive Color-Coding" 4/5 What do you like best about Descartes Aljex? I like how the statuses in Descartes Aljex are color-coded. It allows me to skim over our entire load board and quickly determine the status of each load just by looking at the color. This is really helpful because we currently have over 50 loads on our board, and without the color coding, it would be a lot to read through. Additionally, the initial setup of Descartes Aljex was very easy because I've used other TMS's before, so I already knew most of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Descartes Aljex? I want to be able to copy and paste PU#'s, REF#'s, and/or any container number that I may need directly from the board without clicking into the load. The integration with Highway provides an extra layer of security and efficiency, allowing for the swift, automated syncing and updating of verified carriers with minimal manual input. While generally considered user-friendly, some specific functionalities, like the split-screen option, reportedly don't work as smoothly as expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Descartes Aljex solving and how is that benefiting you? Aljex has helped me with mutliple things from billing work for the shipments to store and share the paperwork with the carriers and the clients. Another helpful feature of Aljex, in my feild of work, is that it gives an option to VOID/cancel the shipment even if created initially (in case that shipment was never completed) and it also is very helpful with it's feature to be able to block MC#'s given the increase in the number of fradulent carrier activities in the system. If I find out a carrier is scamming us then I can block that MC and prevent that carrier from ever working with us. Also, it gives an option to set customer limit and prevents from booking a load with that client if the limit is reached until the payment is made from the client which enables keeping a track of the pending amount to be collected and avoids clients from putting us in too much debt. Another helpful feature is it'd ability to create a unique load/pro# for each shipment. You can anytime enter that load/pro# to find out easily which carrier and customer booked that load with us. I really appreciate some of the newer improvements in Descartes Aljex. The interface feels faster and more intuitive, and the visibility into carrier compliance has become even more reliable. The system’s automation—especially around carrier onboarding, document tracking, and alerts—has noticeably improved my workflow. I’ve been using Aljex for quite some time, and one thing that has always stood out is how little support I’ve ever needed. The system has been straightforward, reliable, and intuitive enough that I’ve never had to reach out for help. That alone speaks volumes about the software’s design and usability. In terms of dislikes, I honestly can’t think of any major issues. My experience has been largely positive, and the platform has consistently delivered what I need without creating unnecessary complications. I love that Descartes Aljex meets all of our invoicing needs, and the reports are very helpful. I have been working in Aljex Classic since 2005 and enjoy the option to continue using it while other team members use Vision. There are a few tasks I can complete easier in Classic compared to Vision, and some team members rely on me for tasks that only Classic supports. In the past, I could pull up a PDF from the public/private file with one key. Now I have to copy and paste a link and open it in a browser. It's very easy to use and easy to get used to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Descartes Aljex? wish we could have more status. Like LATE PICK, LATE DEL instead of only options LOADED, DISPATCHED, AT SHIP and so one. It would be easier to identify problematic loads. Also a place to put a note that can be on the main screen. Right now only the NOTE button shows. I have to click on each one to find the note.
