Unlike most other backup tools, it creates a self-installing backup. When it's time to migrate a site, you simply throw up the backup and a php launcher and boom, it's done. Setup is easy - it does most of it for you. Backup is easy - hit the button and go Migration is easy - download the backup and the kickstart file and upload it to the new server. I used Akeeba backup weekly for the best part of a decade and had very few problems. Any time I contacted support, they were proactive and extremely helpful. Akeeba Backup is a must-have plugin. **What do you dislike about Akeeba?** The only element I ever had trouble with was my browser auto-complete creating passwords for the backup archives. Provided I was careful about that, I had zero issues. **What problems is Akeeba solving and how is that benefiting you?** Backing up & migrating sites can be problematic. This is particularly true on Wordpress, where most backup & restore products do more of a merge than an exact restoration. Akeeba is really the only product I know of that makes migrations simple, and doesn't require the destination CMS to be installed ahead of time. ### 2. It's clear, simple and for me the best. I have had different problems with other tools, with Akeeba I have always solved them. The assistance is excellent and very professional, the installation is simple as for all plugins. It integrates into the Wordpress ecosystem in an instant and you can use it every day without any problem. **What do you dislike about Akeeba?** I think the absence of the plugin directly on Wordpress is an annoying lack that forces you to go to the akeeba site every time. **What problems is Akeeba solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helped me with hosting changes and when I had to move Joomla or WordPress sites. ### 3. The Akeeba Backup is an extension without match on Joomla, you can create and manange easily the site backups. **What do you dislike about Akeeba?** Akeeba admin tools is a complete set to keep secure your Joomla web site and work excellent but is not an extension for everyone, you need to know what is you are doing due you can create conflit and block some esencial process. **What problems is Akeeba solving and how is that benefiting you?** We was looking for two thigs, to keep secure the site and avoid exploit the Joomla site through SQL injection Vulnerabilitis and make automatic backups of the important parts of the site. By default, WordPress is not as secure as other CMS, and it was necessary to work on this matter, and Akeeba was the right decision. We increase the strain of the password and protect access to the administration area. Also, the update of the .htaccess was a simple task. **What do you dislike about Akeeba?** I dont have a single complaint about Akeeba tools; this is an excellent plugin **What problems is Akeeba solving and how is that benefiting you?** With Akeeba we could improve the security of the WordPress site; this tool was mighty to the project. ### 5. Once set up, it's easy to backup your files and then manage them. Akeeba has excellent steo-by-step videos that show you how to manage each step. I love the ability to download and store the backup files on my hard drive, as an alternative safety precaution. Great product. **What do you dislike about Akeeba?** Akeeba is a bit "hands on" when it comes to utilizing the backup. It would be nice if they made it a bit more automated, however, it's very effective and does a great job of backup up an entire website! **Recommendations to others considering Akeeba:** Make sure you read all the installation and restore documentation that Akeeba provides, before installing and using the software. I also recommend watching all their step-by-step videos for guidance. Also be sure to download a copy of the backup file from within the Akeeba plugin control panel, or from your server, and save it on an external hard drive for additional backup. You can start out using the free-version to see how it works for you, before having to buy the paid version, which is really a nice benefit! **What problems is Akeeba solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've lost countless websites, so discovering Akeeba, and using it to back up my sites, was a blessing. I no longer have to worry about bad coding, or forgetting something when developing and managing a website, as I know if I lose my website data, I can easily utilize Akeeba to set it back up, in less than an hour. ### 7. Considering how involved the process, it's well-worth the effort. **Recommendations to others considering Akeeba:** It might seem intimidating at first, but if you just follow each step outlined in their videos, you can easily backup your entire website and restore it, if necessary. Be sure to save the backup file (I keep two copies: one on a backup hard drive and one on the server) and use it to restore your website. **What problems is Akeeba solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've hosed an entire website on more than one occasion - most of us have at some time or another. After that happens a couple of times, you learn to backup and find solutions for protecting your content and db, like Akeeba. For my Joomla websites, Akeeba Backup works best. It gives me confidence in knowing that if anything happens to my website, restoring it will be relatively easy and painless with Akeeba. ### 8. I can usually be confident that when I create a backup of my Joomla website using Akeeba, it will be complete. **What do you dislike about Akeeba?** The administration panel is a bit old-fashioned and clunky, but the end product is so effective, that's not really something to complain about.
