In differentiated instruction, the knowledge of developing teaching and learning materials according to the needs of various students was useful. **What do you dislike about ActiveTextbook?** It is quite limited in terms of the offline option. The text content is readable when there is no internet connection, but the quizzes and other parts of the website that engage students are not accessible offline. **What problems is ActiveTextbook solving and how is that benefiting you?** ActiveTextbook has changed the way I convey content in my courses. All types of file format are supportive in this software, no worries about file format type when inserting the docs from various other software. Its interesting feature is the ability of adding comments and points for the document, for any feedback or highlight. Enabling to its users to creat the documents from gathering content so conviently now with this software. Everything available in this is very user friendly and engaging the customers and users. And it is also easily accessible from any devide like mobiles or desktops too. **What do you dislike about ActiveTextbook?** Sometimes the system automatically lacks due to the viewing of the attachments imported from other platforms. I'm most intrigued by the ability to collectively comment as a class on the text, although this feature seems somewhat limited. That said, this tool has a good variety of annotations and ability to add photo and video that could be very useful in a number of educational settings. **What do you dislike about ActiveTextbook?** The biggest letdown was the lack of true comment 'threading' on texts - you can certainly click into a comment and see the replies, but replies do not thread which limits meaningful conversation and tracking of comments that are any longer than a few words. Overall, i'm also somewhat concerned about the cognitive load students will have to manage with so many options on a page - keeping things minimal and aligned to your learning objectives will be a crucial component to using this product well. **Recommendations to others considering ActiveTextbook:** Active Textbook provides a powerful tool if leveraged well. That said, without careful consideration to the tasks that students will need to demonstrate achievement of your learning goals, it may become a distraction. This is certainly true for any tool in ed tech, but one worth carefully examining here - just because you "can," doesn't mean you "should." **What problems is ActiveTextbook solving and how is that benefiting you?** Assessing learning for online reading can be tough, so the commenting and annotation options provide one way students can demonstrate they've been engaging with the text. This only really works well with quality prompts and student training, but given those proper structures this tool can really elevate the way students pay careful attention to a text. ### 7. During the use of the application during the last 2 years we also highly appreciated the fact the team at evidentpoint.com, the developers of Activetextbook, is very familiar and interested in the needs of schools in higher education. **What do you dislike about ActiveTextbook?** We are currently using the online version as well as the offline apps (iOS, Android, Windows). The offline apps are slightly less powerful, and the deployment is by nature slightly more challenging. This will be history once the progressive web application (PWA) is rolled out allowing offline use in the browser making the apps redundant. **What problems is ActiveTextbook solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our customers have an increasing demand for eBooks that allow a rich and engaging experience with the learning material they are presented with.
