Many years down the line, I found myself needing to draw on those skills again when I became the video editor for my own business. When I first tried VideoPad, I was pleased to see familiar features from my days using ProTools and Fruity Loops, such as drag-and-drop functionality and track management. **What do you dislike about VideoPad?** Although I noticed some similarities between VideoPad and the older audio editing programs I’ve used in the past, I still experienced a bit of a learning curve. I think this is mostly because I’m not a video editor by trade—just someone stepping into the role. Maybe that’s intentional, and the software isn’t really designed for beginners. I like videopad the best. It features many functions absent in competitors, such as stopwatch timecode, star wars intro text, line drawing, and freedom of transformation in text and templates. Moreover, their customer support through peers is great, and the programmers listen to the issues and bugs report and suggestions. Constant improvement is available. I have used it for a couple of months now after I had some technical issues with my Pinnacle Studio 23 software, and I couldn't be happier with the results. **What do you dislike about VideoPad?** The manual is a little thin in the "how to's" so there is a bit of trial and error that is necessary to solve a few minor interface issues. **Recommendations to others considering VideoPad:** Stick with it and work thru the interface. If you are at all familiar with video editing, you should be able to figure out all the cool stuff. The manual and online help are spotty at best. You are better off taking an afternoon and messing around to get a handle on the features. **What problems is VideoPad solving and how is that benefiting you?** I was in the midst of editing a television commercial using Pinnacle Studio 23 when something went awry with my software installation. I have not been able to resolve that and needed to finish the commercial by my deadline. I ended up finding VideoPad and was able to complete my project in time. ### 9. I started the video with no idea how I would do what I wanted or if it was possible. I was able to figure out how to accomplish what I needed to and much more quickly than I would have thought. I also loved that it had common platforms, such as Google Drive and YouTube, already set up for exporting the video. **What do you dislike about VideoPad?** Having to start over when I made a mistake because I didn't know a better way. I have used very simple video creation software before. So many options confused me. **Recommendations to others considering VideoPad:** I was using the free version of VideoPad, and it was more than I needed for a brief video. I'm a novice to Video editing and the greatest benefit of VideoPad is its super user-friendly interface. I always begin with importing my video, audio, and image files. Whereas many programs combine these all in a central pool of resources, VideoPad sorts them into tabs, making it easy to differentiate between still images, videos, and audio. Adding files to a project is as easy as dragging and dropping. This adds the entire content of the clip. Then I'm free to resize it to keep just the parts I want. Alternatively, it’s also possible to preview the clip prior to inserting it. From there I'm able to set in and out points, alter the playback speed, and choose where in the timeline to insert it. Likewise, VideoPad finally helps me edit my videos with a professional touch even though I have very little knowledge in this. ### 11. I have not been able to export my videos to any social media platforms and I don't know if that's on me because I've always just exported to my computer. It's lightweight and easy to use. There is a free version for anybody wanting to just test out the software and this allows people to get a good taste of what they are paying for (if they like the software and decide to pay for it). **What do you dislike about VideoPad?** There are a couple flaws with VideoPad, the program is not the most stable and can experience some performance issues whilst using it. With titles, they can be adjusted to type of text, size, fill and if it moves across the screen. One transition that I use at the end of most videos is the screen changing with a heart shape. Photos are easily added between videos and can have the time they are displayed easily adjusted. **What do you dislike about VideoPad?** Playback can be rather choppy. Often I have to save the project and then view it to see if it is what I want. Also, it would be nice to have the ability to edit 360 photos to remove tripod legs. **Recommendations to others considering VideoPad:** In looking at other platforms and trying their samples, VideoPad is easier to learn and implement.
