See joshknoll.com **What do you dislike about Strikingly?** My chosen animated stock photo background GIF was discontinued and I had to change it out ... they didn't warn me that my site was defunct, so I have no idea how long it was. **What problems is Strikingly solving and how is that benefiting you?** I was able to pull over data from LinkedIn which was paramount in getting a professional web site pulled together that showcases my true career positionings. I had spent so much time inputting the data into LinkedIn over the years, it was nice to be able to use that pool of work and seamlessly transport it into a working website -- www.joshknoll.com :) ### 2. I have not experienced any roadblocks or problems thus far after 2 months of daily use. I've read negative reviews on other sites but I have not had any problems. **What problems is Strikingly solving and how is that benefiting you?** With this new startup I originally had a technical cofounder to deal with all of this but we had a falling out and he left the company leaving me to deal with all of this myself and so far Strikingly has been great. ### 3. Recently I decided to cancel the account. After cancelling the service was terminated immediately even though I still had 24 days left in the 1 month subscription, for which I have paid. During the cancellation process on the website it was not clearly mentioned that the service will be stopped not at the end of the subscription period but immediately after the cancellation. That means that if you want to cancel Strikingly and still use the 1 month subscription, for which you have paid, you have to remember to cancel your subscription on the very last day. If you forget to do so, your subscription will be automatically renewed for 1 more month. I am sure this is convenient for Strikingly but definitely not convenient for their customers. When using other subscription services (Amazon, Spotify, etc) usually after cancellation you can still use the service until the end of the subscription period. I complained to customer service but they did not want to extend my subscription for the remaining 24 days for which I have paid and told me that I have to pay for a new subscription if I want to use the service. There are other similar solutions on the market with better features than Strikingly for the same price and without the tricky customer policies which are unfavourable for the customer. Strikingly is not competitive compared to alternatives. UPDATE: After sending customer service my reviews for Strikingly they finally granted me with free 1 month subscription to compensate for the 24 days that I was not able to use. You can micromanage/customize every aspect of your site if you wish, or you can pick a quick template, import your information from LinkedIn and be ready to publish in minutes. The templates are eye-catching and there is a lot to choose from, even in the free version. **What do you dislike about Strikingly?** The site editor does sometimes get "stuck" when I make changes, which means I have to reload the entire page. Other than the occasional sluggishness, I don't really have any complaints about it! **Recommendations to others considering Strikingly:** Strikingly is an excellent free option for someone who wants a website but either doesn't have the time or necessary skills to spend coding their own site. I am currently in the process of designing a website to sell items online and I love that I can do this on my own. I have found many website builders to be very complicated and thankfully this is not the case when it comes to Strikingly. Also, for being so easy to use, it actually offers a lot of features of options for anyone. When setting up your website, it asks what the main purpose of the website will be and includes a variety of templates for each option. I love the amount of options and how professional any website looks when using Strikingly. You can easily integrate the website with your social media as well, which is another great feature. I also love that you can get 3 months free if you have a college email address. **What do you dislike about Strikingly?** I am definitely not a fan of the pricing. It seems as though the only way to get a good deal is to pay annually instead of monthly, so anyone looking to pay monthly might find a better deal elsewhere. I also wish they had more customer service options for the lower plans, as it seems as though the best customer service is only guaranteed for the VIP plan subscribers. Customer service is something that should be a priority for all. **Recommendations to others considering Strikingly:** If you are looking for an easy website builder with many options and features, Strikingly is a wonderful option. However, if you are interested in a website builder that you can use with a monthly plan, you might be able to find a better deal elsewhere. If you are willing to pay for one year upfront, this is a great option. I would have really like that because I really need one for myself. **Recommendations to others considering Strikingly:** My recommendation for using this is to experiment, play around with all the features and take your time (It's free to start, so it's not like it costs anything to experiment!). It is very user friendly, but support is only available online. Strikingly works great if you are completely happy with the layout of the site you pick and do not wish to modify the location of the logo for example. Limitations: · You cannot drag/move items around the page where you would like them. · Limited integrations. It uses an intuitive "section" editor that facilitates work for a single page, so, anyone can create a website in a very short time, is not necessary to have coding knowledge. you can create a simple store, just activate the integrated e-commerce section. **What do you dislike about Strikingly?** You can't customize the themes so much, only basic elements such as color. You can add a contact form on your website, but it does not allow you to add new fields. the "sections" require you to have a header and a subtitle, which can not be deleted. doesn't have a preview function in design mode. don't allow you to publish posts automatically like WordPress.
