**What do you like best about Populi?**

I like that Populi lets you use the text feature if the student signs up for it. I also like the ability to add your picture to the profile. As an admin, I appreciate being able to determine who can see the messages, whether it's the student or other staff members.

**What do you dislike about Populi?**

I would like to see the reports being ran a little bit better. Sometimes it's hard to get the information you want based on the way the reports are set up.

**What problems is Populi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Populi helps us keep track of student records, manage enrollment and application steps, and maintain the academic catalog. It also allows students to register for classes, submit assignments, view previous grades, and track transcripts.

Helps to store data of Students, Helps in communicate with them.
It keeps record of all admissions
Which student took in his each terms

Customer support is not there, Lead nurturing feature is not good

Helps in storing all financial and academic information of all student by automating the process
It helps in keeping records of all invoices

Cross-listing of classes creates some challenges for online discussions.

**What do you like best about Populi?**

Populi is visually appealing to the eye. While it contains a large portion of information, they have designed it in a way that is not overwhelming but still allows students to access things they need to access. Populi is also web-based and allows easy access to it whenever and wherever. 

**What do you dislike about Populi?**

Populi has come a long way, but still has a ways to go. They've created a great product but it is definitely unfinished. The complicated algorithms exist, but the simplest of functions do not. When requesting the simpler fixes be added, you simply get ushered to their discussion board to await a rare solution to your (and other institution's) problems.

**Recommendations to others considering Populi:**

Its a great product, but know what you are getting into when it comes to user support. They are quick to respond and to help with your problems, but aren't always with you to the end in solving the problem. Your problem may simply be pushed to create a "feature request" that is not likely to get made a priority by their team for many months (and for us, years). 

**What problems is Populi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an educational institution, we are responsible for lots of information and confidential information at that. Populi allows us a safe and secure home for these things that is cloud-based and thus can be accessed from anywhere at any time. This is helping our students to navigate the information they need in one place instead of multiple.

Populi helps me organize and communicate with my students in an efficient manner.

**What do you dislike about Populi?**

I wish that I could integrate it with other programs my institution uses so that it is not redundant.

If you need a way to organize communication and tracking of students this is a helpful tool to implement.

Attendance tracking, mass emails to students, syllabus sharing, resource communication.

Easy to navigate, post feedback to students, take attendance and record grades.

**What do you dislike about Populi?**

Could include more options for creating quizzes and exams.

Great for use in Higher Education  when organizing and delivering information to students.

**What problems is Populi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am learning how to streamline communication with my students through instant feedback on essays and assignments.   Students are quickly able to see grades and respond to feedback.

**What do you like best about Populi?**

Pretty easy to catch on to the interface. It does the job well without over-complicating the user experience. The profile creation is a nice touch as it makes it easier to connect with other students. I like that I can retain a history of courses and notes that were uploaded by instructors and access them after the course is over. The settings for the discussion boards are great. Its nice to be able to keep track of my responses and engage with my other classmates. 

**What do you dislike about Populi?**

Navigating back to original assignments/lessons can be a little difficult. Items specific to a particular lesson aren't grouped together so you have to bounce around a bit. It can be easy to overlook a task if you dont know what your looking for. The list of all assignments can be overwhelming as it is presented in the current UI. 
It would be great if Populi offered integrations so that our instructors could post the recorded lessons within the Populi interface. Perhaps that is a feature not being utilized. But we presently have to access the video through another application. Integrating with a livestream would be super helpful.

Would use it again.

**What problems is Populi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Populi affords our continuing education programs all the bells and whistles we need to support structured curriculum with tracked assignments and online classroom engagement.  For our non-traditional classroom environment, this does the trick and helps keep attendees accountable to assignments while offering easy ways to monitor course progress.

Populi cuts out a lot of the unnecessary additions that many learning systems have. 

**What do you dislike about Populi?**

I found the testing functions to be quite clumsy. I was unable to test within a lockdown browser so my online tests (for my online class) had no security. Students were able to easily copy and paste from other browser windows. 
I was also not a fan of the navigation. The program would benefit from a way to flip between tests for different students that does not involve going back to the grade book. 

**What problems is Populi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Compared to other programs, I’m not sure that I’m solving many problems. It’s a good, basic online learning system but lacks the intuitive nature of other systems.

**What do you like best about Populi?**

The cost is about right given what it does vs the competition. However that isn't saying much.

**What do you dislike about Populi?**

Frankly...a lot. It is definitely older software, or at least looks and works like older software. The UI is VERY dated. It looks like the old frames based websites of the 90s and early 00s (probably because it is). Functionality is limited. We've been able to do what we need, but often have to use some kludgey work arounds. 

**Recommendations to others considering Populi:**

It gets the job done, but is not the easiest to use by modern standards. Though not many (any) LMS really excel or meet modern expectations and don't cost a high premium.

Managing students: enrollment, payment, classes, for distance education.

**What do you like best about Populi?**

The tight integration, every part works together seamlessly. A week after our school went live with Populi, it has already become indispensable. 

**What do you dislike about Populi?**

I wish we had the ability to import records instead of going through Populi support. The migration guy is great but it is more convenient.
The interface should be a little more consistent, The links are not always visible, you don't intuitively know that you can click on the label to bring up the pop up window to change it. Once you understand the interface, it's not much of an issue.
For LMS, we wish we can download files without opening each file and click download.

Highly recommend this product!

**What problems is Populi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Populi replaced our old registrar system and LMS. Selecting the right software/solution is half the success. Populi delivers without the fuss of customization, they understand higher education, almost all of our requirements are met without much frustrations. I would say usually when someone is frustrated with Populi(not very often), it has more to do with the user!

The ability to integrate our online classes directly with our student database. It is a one stop shop for everything a student or staff member needs to help a student successfully complete a course.

Updates occasionally break classes and other features we were currently using

Providing online courses and keeping student records. It eliminates redundant data entry

**What do you like best about Populi?**

The program is great for records. It does a great job at integrating in information and even establishing items for admissions.

**What do you dislike about Populi?**

Reporting is clunky at best. If you want to see who took a certain every year, good luck. It just doesn't filter very well that way or you need to understand how it works. At long as you're a small school and need basic reports you're set, but if you're doing longitudinal data it will take a while.

If you run reports often, i'd look elsewhere

**What do you like best about Populi?**

I think the platform is really nice and easy to navigate, reasonable pricing, well designed, and their customer service is always great. Course scheduling is a breeze and overall it's just a nice experience on the front end. I like the design as it's clean and well thought out for navigation. I enjoy the front end a lot, I have surveyed students and they tend to really enjoy their experience with Populi, which is a main concern from an administrator end.   I believe the developers are in it to win it though!

**What do you dislike about Populi?**

Populi is a very manual program. Working in financial aid I saw many flaws that accrue due to manual human errors that Populi is unable to catch. Emails were really hard to send out through Populi. The reporting feature was rarely reliable, but can be really helpful. I wish there were more reporting features, as I tend to pull data reports often and i'd love the option to increase those pulls. 

**Recommendations to others considering Populi:**

Just be ready to fill the shoes of a lot of processes that are (on many other platforms) back end. I think it can be a very great option for smaller schools, as schools grow I recommend a different platform.

I believe this platform is a great option for smaller schools that feel able to manage their population holistically and individually.

**What do you like best about Populi?**

As a student and as an instructor, it has been a life saver in keeping things organized and keeping information consistent across multiple class sizes. As hybrid (in-class and online) courses become more and more the standard, this allows me not to have multiple buckets of information in multiple places.

**What do you dislike about Populi?**

There is little to nothing that I dislike about the program. The document reader occasionally makes paper's formatting seem a bit off, but otherwise there's not much to dislike. 

**What problems is Populi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an instructor responsible to teach/facilitate/oversee multiple courses and instructors, I can quickly peruse everything about each course to ensure adequate coverage.

Broad uses, customer service. The fact that it is online and functions the same at home or in the office is a HUGE benefit.

**What do you dislike about Populi?**

It is very helpful and useful in it's own right. The problem comes when you try comparing it to other online software that can do some of the same things better. But then those softwares don't have all the functionality of Populi.

Yes, if I felt it would meet their needs.

Database management, communication, profile searches. Being based online is great because staff can access it anywhere in the world.
