## Parabol Reviews
  ### 1. Parabol is great to drive the async stand-ups.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Smruti Ranjan B. | Full Stack Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

It is just great, because it is not bloated with lots of features that get complex over time.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

It had some minor bugs; I have fixed some, and there are more. And the editor that we see is not very developer friendly, adding code snippet breaks it.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping us during our daily stand-ups. We write our day's work and we can discuss it in the team meeting. And sometimes we do async stand-ups in this.

  ### 2. Easy and user friendly tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Efrat A. | Business Analyst II, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

Love using Parabol for my team's planning poker. Easy to connect to JIRA, pull the user stories in and write back the story points values once the discussion is complete.
The team loves it, and the summary is helpful!

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

Would be nice to have more templates for other ceremonies l

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Planning poker

  ### 3. Parabol has changed how we do meetings!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ellie H. | Scrum Master, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

Parabol has been one of the best retrospectives tool I've ever used. Especially as a product with a free tier option, the benefits are unmatched!
The format of Parabol makes it the ideal tool for teams that are spread across multiple time zones.
It has been a great way to get all team members engaged in our Scrum ceremonies such as Backlog Refinement, Stand-up, Retrospectives, and more.
The integrations with JIRA and Teams have been super valuable for us and make meetings a lot smoother.
Their customer support has been fantastic and easy to work with.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

There's some small admin things I would like to see improve like more options for the Organization Leader role and Billing role, being able to select who contributes in a stand up (not everyone on the Parabol team, just the dev team), and some nav menu options but Parabol is continuously pushing out more updates and changes. I have no doubt they'll get to all of these small issues soon.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped us solve the issue of async meetings with team members spread across multiple time zones as well as helping us better implement our Scrum ceremonies.

  ### 4. Making retrospectives inclusive, and (actually) productive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liliana V. | Quality and regulatory person, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

We use Parabol mainly for weekly retrospectives. It's very intuitive, easy to introduce new members to it and facilates discussions.

The main reason I like parabol is because is a way to involve everybody without making feel force. Also every one can come up with good/bad things without being influenced previously.

The grouping cards is very handful also to decide what to do discuss further and of course the timer is essential.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

I would like to have the option of locking individual cards. We currently use Parabol for individual reflections before the team discusses them together. Sometimes, teammates start grouping or moving cards prematurely, which disrupts the individual reflection process.

The cards written by the same person are spreded making difficult to comment on what you write without navigating first the whole.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need to be able to review our week in a quick, efficient and engaging way. Parabol is the place for us to organize the invidual achievement and struggles to be able to acknoledge them and work where necessary.

  ### 5. All competitors are far-and-away less effective

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

We had been using Parabol for a long time, since we found it to be very helpful in streamlining retrospectives and sprint estimation meetings. We then had an aggressive "belt-tightening" string of budget cuts, to which Parabol fell victim. We tried many alternatives. It got to the point that we fought to bring Parabol back, and everyone was very happy that we won back the ability to use it. The icebreakers are great conversation starters to start the meeting off positively. The ability to add discussions to every card in the form of comments and reactions is one of the reasons we fought for it. The ability to vote, to group, discuss things by rank... All if it is great. The interface is mostly intuitive and people find it simple to use. Getting going with it is simple because of it. We use Parabol for every single one of our retros. We no longer do Scrum, but when we did the Jira integration was vital to the setting of story points on tickets, and I can't imagine having to do it manually. I don't believe we've ever needed customer support, which is a good sign, but if the support is like the rest of everything, I'm sure it's great also.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

I would say the "Ready" button in Parabol (where users indicate they're ready) could be more intelligent. For example, when selecting how you feel about work, when users have selected something then it could mark them as ready automatically. Furthermore, alerts for users that still have votes left during voting could probably be more prominent. We found that oftentimes someone will not vote but we sit around until the timer runs out because of it. This is mostly a "people problem", but I think something could be done about this in the app to ease the issue.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizing large retrospectives is made so much easier with Parabol. We spend much less time on meeting dynamics and more time on content.

  ### 6. Really helpfull tool for (online) retro and estimation meetings

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

We use Parabol for the scrum retrospective and scrum estimation. For the retro, we really like using Parabol because it makes it easy for everyone to provide feedback, and we can easily group, prioritize, and discuss the feedback. For estimation, Parabol is also very pleasant to use because it walks us through the issues to be estimated one by one, and it can automatically process the estimated story points into Jira.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

It's great that summaries are automatically generated, but unfortunately I (as the facilitator) can't specify that those summaries shouldn't be sent to everyone. Team members can, however, set it up themselves so they don't receive emails.
I would be great if we could use Parabol for the PI event as well, but that is not possible yet.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 7. Parabol is the Simple Tool Our Team Needed

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

I like being able to run sprint poker sessions with parabol.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

I wish the link to share with teammates was unique to the meeting I'm using and didn't dynamically change each time I navigated away from the screen.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sprit poker hosting

  ### 8. Love Parabol!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Flora W. | Staff Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

Love the ice breaker and the smooth UI/UX.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

Would be great if can have back ground music option!

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps the software development team to conduct retrospective sessions in a fun and effective way.

  ### 9. Quick and simple refinements and retros

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arturs D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

The interface matches our process. When we do poker planning and retro, little to no preparation is needed. The meetings follow simple and straightforward steps. In the end, we get the meeting minutes. There is also a rudimentary board for tracking our retro action points. The website works on the phone which allows people to join the meeting without carrying their laptops to the meeting room. And there is a Jira integration for quicker poker planning setup.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

I can't think of anything that would stop us from using it. There are sometimes minor drag-and-drop issues, but they are rare, and with time they get fixed.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The interface matches our process. When we do poker planning and retro, little to no preparation is needed. The meetings follow simple and straightforward steps. ### 10. Simple, focused, and inclusive retrospectives

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2024

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

We've mostly used it for the retro meetings it gives everyone a chance to add topics of discussion and avoids needing to call anyone out to provide feedback. Allows to create trackable tasks that come out of the discussions for each topic along with notes that we can refer back to during the next sprint.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

Don't really have any criticisms about it it's a really useful tool for team meetings with plenty of stuff that I probably havn't even tried out yet.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having productive and focused retrospectives to help our team improve is a must and Parabol helps our team do that

  ### 11. Very solid tool & experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yana D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

We have been using Parabol for retro & pokering meetings for over two years now in different projects. Everyone who has worked with the tool always comments on the ease of use, the smooth user experience and the way it enables interaction within the team.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

So far, we haven't found any downsides to using Parabol.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We started using Parabol as a retrospective meeting tool at first. We loved the interaction, the fact that it guides you through the meeting, and that you can have anonymous comments and votes.

After a successful first use of the retro meeting templates, Parabol then released the sprint pokering meeting template. This was the best addition they could have done! We absolutely love the integration with Jira where we can search for tickets, add them to the stories we need to poker, and then the team can just read a short description and click through to the story from within the tool. Another cool feature is that any estimates are synced automatically to the correct field in Jira. This is a huge timesaver for us!

  ### 12. Useful tool that fits in the scrum framework

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kean Y. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

It's very easy to set up and use. You can host different events. I personally like to use Parabol boards for quick brainstorming for sprint poker or evaluating a sprint.

Furthermore, an event can be very easily created and shared with your peers.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

The UI of parabol can be improved. Sometimes when I use the sprint poker event, the hover bar on the left is too small. I would like to collapse it or change the width myself. The information in the center also sometimes look crammed. The images that are sent from Jira to parabol are squished or not visible. I would like to have 'focus mode' where only the item that is discussed will be highlighted and enlarged. These above-mentioned points are minor things and I would still recommend parabol to others

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's very easy to set up. We use Parabol to evaluate backlog items and to evaluate our sprint retrospectively. It's possible to group items, rank them and discuss them. Afterwards, everybody is receiving a mail. All of this speeds up the process

  ### 13. Perfect, Simple Tool for a Complicated Task

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julia P. | UX Designer and Researcher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

This product allows teams to get on the same page in a very quick manner. As a UX Designer, I am not always sure how complex it will be to develop my designs. Parabol allows our entire team to come together and have a shared understanding of each ticket and the amount of work it'll take to get it done. I feel this tool has created a stronger connection between UX and the Development Team. We are able to speak the same language and there's been a lot less back and forth on tickets because of our Parabol usage!

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

N/A! For what I use Parabol for (once every 2 weeks), it works great. I'm more of a participant in each session vs someone who sets it up, so for my level of usage, the product is very accessible and helpful.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to use a shared language (of points) when assessing really complex ideas. It keeps meetings on track because we can quickly move from task to task in one platform.

  ### 14. Way better for retros than a whiteboarding tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

It's very use to use and so quick to set up meetings. I like how easy it is to create actions during discussions and capture everyones thoughts it one single location. The email summaries are useful for when you miss a meeting.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

I wish there was an option to play background music (like in FigJam). Sometimes the silence while everyone is typing out their responses is a big void.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves a bunch of problems around planning for retros, creating a agendas, and taking notes / assigning actions. Parabol does it all for you.

  ### 15. Best tool for Retros and other kind of metrics

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

We tried a few tools for conducting retrospectives, but we found that Parabol was the best for us. Its interface is simple and beautiful, and the developers have put thought into every feature and option. This attention to detail is evident in the final product. Parabol also includes several meeting templates that make it easy to prepare for a retrospective. Plus, it integrates well with other major tools. Finally, the AI-generated report that is emailed to you at the end of the meeting is a great feature!

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

"I find the menus outside the meetings unintuitive. The team dashboard could be improved and I miss some features to see meeting stats, such as identifying which team members have written the most tickets in retrospectives, etc."

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Management of Sprint Poker and Retrospective meetings

  ### 16. A Simple Solution To Having An Organized And Efficient Scrum Ceremony.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yash M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

The UI is simple and easy to use. The icebreakers start you off with a little chuckle, while the presets help you focus on the discussions happening during the meeting.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

The limited amount of free presets for Retro. Also, the Jira integration when sprint planning doesn't alwys work and we have to manually set the story points instead of doing it through the Parabol UI.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parabol solves the problem of organizing Sprint Ceremonies, keeping us focused on the discussions at hand rather than moving things around and keeping things organized and readable. We are easily able to list out what we want to talk about and have a simple way to know what we should be discussing through voting and grouping.

  ### 17. Parabol does perfectly distributed Scrum ceremonies

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** N J. | Country Manager / Delivery Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

- No frills, straight forward ceremony creation & facilitation
- Super intuitive
- Multiple templates (for Planning, Retro, etc)
- Basic configs available (Ice breaker, Anonymous Retro feedback)
- Integrates with Jira for Planning (and estimate assignment straight to Jira)
- Auto-summary of grouped feedback in Retros

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

- While it integrates with Jira for the ceremonies, doesn't seem to export nicely Retro actions so we can import and track them in Jira instead

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a distributed team and needing to Plan together as well as look back on what went well and what could be improved - in summary, for Scrum ceremonies

  ### 18. Ease of use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

I have been using Parabol for both backlog refinements and retrospective meetings. The best features about Parobol from my experience so far: 1) templates: the ability to customize and modify accordingly to individual team needs, 2) Jira tickets can be added into the tool and a seamless experience for updating story points through Parabol 3) the ability to create teams within Parabol, 4) summary via email: reduces the effort to take meeting notes and distribute post meetings, 5) ice breakers: every time I would have to pull ice breakers for retros, but this solves the hazzle, 6) individual progress markers during retros! Overall, a very pleasant experience. I also love that it gives an overview of the team tasks which reduces the effort to track action items, making it a self managed system!

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

Some add-ons that would be great:
- Can be more fun by adding more colors
- Other voting options
- Music to the tool while the team is working on adding thoughts during retro

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

gathering meeting minutes and action items, ice breakers for retros

  ### 19. Great tool for Retrospectives

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marina V. | Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

Great UX - super clear. Process intuitive, with a fun element, easy to implement with the team. We use it as part of our scum ceremonies on frequent base
Allow teams to have open and not biased dialog

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

actually pretty happy with the tool, might be manage email notification not only on personal but also on team/org level will be useful

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great friendly tool, used it mainly to manage teams or features retrospective; widely used by teams as part of scrum ceremonies; some teams started using it also estimation functionality. Important - even the dev team resistant to tools use love to work with Parabol

  ### 20. "PARABOL: Pioneering Agile Mastery and Seamless Online Collaboration"

Overall, Parabol's comprehensive approach to project management, coupled with its dedication to agile principles and seamless online collaboration, makes it a remarkable and indispensable asset for any team striving for success in today's dynamic work environment.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

It's important to note that these potential drawbacks are relatively minor compared to the overall strengths and benefits that Parabol brings to project management. The team behind Parabol is actively working to improve the tool based on user feedback.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parabol's prowess in addressing the complexities of sprint planning and retrospectives has transformed my project/ team management approach. By simplifying sprint planning, fostering collaboration, providing structured retrospectives, enabling seamless remote work, and optimizing resource utilization, Parabol has significantly improved the efficiency, communication, and overall success of my projects. It's a tool that not only solves key challenges but also empowers me to achieve agile mastery and continuous improvement in my project management endeavors.

  ### 21. Keep anonymity for discussion and comments in mind.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raven D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

The ability to let our organization come together, brainstorm and discuss matters while also able to let our members comment anonymously on the platform. We get genuine feedback this way.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

We got really disliked making the reaction not anonymous. When the user switches to anonymouse mode in the comments, the reaction should also be anonymouse. This helps us connect to our members and get their genuine feedback on polls and on discussions happening in our organization.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves organizing a large structured retro for our organization.

  ### 22. Great product!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian D. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

Parabol is a great product. It's intuiative and easy to use. The ability to group feedback and then comment is amazing. I especially love the notes sent out after the fact. It really reduces the administrative time in running sprint ceremonies.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

Make the card size variable to the amount of text. Sometimes the text box is not big enough and scrolling is a bit clunky.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlining and reducing administrative time for sprint ceremonies and meetings.

  ### 23. Parabol is great

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

I first started using Parabol during the Covid 19 pandemic when we were foced to work remotely.
I found it to be a great tool and really collaborative helping the team come together again.

I have since used this with other teams where there are offshore team members and this works really well.

We enjoy most of the features offered.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

The pricing structure isnt clear which I have discussed with Drew who will feed back my comments to offer alternatives.

I also wish this would integrate with more systems as not everyone uses Jira sadly.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping teams collaborate when located across multiple locations on and offshore.
Meaning we have more productive retrospectives.

  ### 24. The only tool that almost perfectly matches our needs!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

Parabol has been a game-changer for our Agile team. After trying several retrospective tools, we finally found our perfect match with Parabol. Its intuitive UI/UX design creates a seamless and enjoyable user experience. The flexibility of the tool allows us to customize and adapt our retrospectives to our specific needs effortlessly. We appreciate the collaborative features that bring our team together, fostering transparency and enhancing communication. With Parabol, our retrospective meetings have become more engaging and productive, leading to actionable insights and continuous improvement. We highly recommend Parabol to any Agile team in search of an exceptional tool for retrospectives.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

In our opinion, the only thing we would like to be different is the Action Points to be separate from the Comments. If there would be two separate sections for these, the tool would be virtually perfect for our use cases.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parabol solves the challenge of facilitating effective Agile retrospectives and team collaboration. By providing a centralized, visual platform for retrospectives, it streamlines the process, enhances communication, and encourages team engagement. This, in turn, leads to improved transparency, actionable insights, and continuous improvement within our team.

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

There are endless meeting formats to leverage which unique outcomes. It really helps consolidate feedback and decisions among teams.

Nothing really - Its really helpful daily in our team

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Parabol primarily for backlog refinement and retro meetings. It helps get the team aligned on estimations and provides a great format for retrospectives.

  ### 26. Technical Program Manager

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

Simplicity to use it and the templates that are available out of the box to make meetings fun. It just reduces the time needed to think about the format of the meetings to almost 0 - which is truly valuable.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

It does not facilitate all formats of the meetings - for example, running workshops, brain storming sessions etc and doesn't allow to create Jira tickets directly.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gives a structure to the scrum meetings and makes using the formats very easy! It reduces time needed to prepare for the meetings and followup of actions are easier as well

  ### 27. Intuitive and effective tool for running productive meetings with agile teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jake K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

Parabol has been super useful within my teams. We primarily use it for retrospectives and sprint poker. The anonymous features are great for retros! The Jira integration is fantastic, and I'm a big fan of the sprint poker process within Parabol. It's great that everyone can follow along with the facilitator without the facilitator having to share their screen and that our story point estimates get automatically updated in Jira with the integration. Inviting members is very straightforward, and Parabol offers a lot of customization with custom templates and other features I haven't fully explored yet! Parabol's been great with keeping our meetings on track and productive!

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

I don't really have anything negative to say! Haven't had an issue with doing whatever we have wanted to do with Parabol. I'm curious to see what other processes we can run through Parabol as we continue to expand our usage of it across our teams.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parabol helps our agile teams with collaboration, discussion facilitation, story point estimation, and decision-making.

  ### 28. Parabol improves collaboration for agile teams worldwide

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

As an Agile team, we rely heavily on Parabol for our retrospectives and sprint planning. The interface is user-friendly and rich.
There are numerous templates for adapting and varying our retrospectives. What's more, retrospective opinions can be written anonymously and then revealed.
In the planning tool, the integration of Jira streamlines our story point estimation process.
As we continue to explore its features, we're finding new ways to improve our meetings and overall team collaboration.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

There's nothing we don't like about Parabol. We'd like to see it continue to improve with new features such as :
- improved tools for writing virtual "post-it" notes and retrospective actions
- JIRA integration, so that retrospective actions become JIRA tickets and can be centralized in a single tool.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parabol is instrumental in addressing the challenges associated with remote Agile retrospectives and sprint planning. Its integrated features promote enhanced team collaboration, efficient decision-making, and more productive meetings. The tool encourages engagement, ensuring that everyone has a voice in the discussion and leading to more actionable insights.

  ### 29. Great tool for planning poker and retros! Very interactive!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

I love how easy Parabol is to use, and how easy it is for new team members to access it.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

There isn't much I don't like about Parabol so far except pricing is a little steep for how our team is structured. But maybe as we utilize it for more things we will see the added value in cost.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A seamless and easy to use way for our teams to collaborate for estimating/poker remotely and also to do retros remote. It helps make documentation so much easier

  ### 30. Best tool for retros out there

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nika Z. | Mentor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

We primarily use Parabol for running our retros.
We love the intuitive UX, great design and lot's of templates to use for your team's retrospectives, summaries emailed to the team are a great feature, too!

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

We're not the biggest fans of the AI-title-making for grouping sections, but in the end, it often ends up being funny so, just another reason for us to have a conversation as a team :)

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parabol is our go-to platform for running team's retrospectives.
By having a dedicated tool we save a lot of time in organising follow-ups, we keep everyone in the team informed and aligned on what has been discussed and we have access to all previous meetings, in case we need it.
It's an invaluable tool for Line Managers for gathering the insights from their teams.

  ### 31. Great tools for remote teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

The Sprint Poker and Sprint Retro meetings are extremely useful for remote product/engineering teams. They are easy to run as the facilitator and easy to use as a participant, and they really help everyone focus in on what's important. Our discussions feel much more productive using this tool. With the free Starter plan offered, there's no reason not to give it a try!

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

No major issues with the tool so far. One thing that would be nice to see is a central repository for your past meeting summaries - they are sent by email, but they can easily get lost that way. We have not yet used any of the integrations so I can't speak to that.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parabol helps our product/engineering team have more productive meetings. We started using this for backlog refinement/story pointing and for sprint retros, and it really helps facilitate discussion in both of those areas. Using this tool is more engaging for the team, and it keeps us on task.

  ### 32. Parabol is a great tool for agile frameworks

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dish L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

Parabol has been a game-changer for our team's Agile meetings. We especially love how easy it is to facilitate retrospectives and sprint poker sessions, with anonymous features that encourage open communication and a Jira integration that saves time. The ability to customize templates and group cards based on importance has also been helpful. But what really sets Parabol apart is the email summary recap, which keeps everyone on the same page and boosts productivity. Highly recommended!

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

Overall, Parabol is a solid tool for agile teams, and I look forward to seeing new features that will continue to help my team's productivity.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parabol is solving a number of problems for teams using agile methodologies, such as difficulty in collaboration, inefficient meeting processes, and lack of structure and organization in retrospective meetings

  ### 33. It's a great tool for our Team Retro's, make it easy and straightforward

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raphael M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

The process itself, it helps us bonding and figuring out problems with ease.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

Nothing in particular, i really enjoy everything about it so far. i might start using for different meetings too.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Doing Retro's, great tool for us

  ### 34. Great UI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

I have been with Parabol since launch and I must say they constantly improve the tool, I love the fact that they listen to the users and act on feedback.
The great UI makes running events smoothly and hassle free.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

At the moment I am quite happy so nothing so far.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Running remote events with non co-located teams.

  ### 35. Parabol is All Killer, No Filler. Everything your team needs to host fun, engaging retros, simply.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris S. | Scrum Master, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

Does "fun" matter in the software development world? I'd like to think so! And Parabol is that and more. It's intuitive, easy on the eyes and comes pre-baked with dozens of retro ideas from some of the greatest hits to a few I've never heard of before (and I try to read up on retro formats quite a bit). As a Scrum Master, mixing the formats up and tying them into people's real lives, holidays, and world events really helps keep people engaged and gets them to open up. Easily configurable and a breeze to set up, Parabol is a pleasure to use.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

There's never been a time when I've thought, "you know, I wish Parabol had Feature XYZ." For my purposes (and for the purposes of my teams), it has everything we need without any bells or whistles that we don't. If I had to stretch for something -- I'd love to see Parabol's take on a storymapping tool. Based on the retro interface, I'm sure it'd be thoughtfully designed and user friendly.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to the pandemic, my team was 100% co-located. We were old school. Whiteboards and sticky notes. Post-pandemic some of us have returned to the office while others have not. Suddenly there was a need for a simple, engaging tool that my teams would enjoy using for retrospectives. I tried out a few but Parabol was our favorite.

  ### 36. Very straightforward and useful service !

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paraita W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

The tool is very easy to use and understand even for non technical people.
Collaboration features allows to integrate remote people without a sweat.
We've tried other tools but this one really fits well.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

It can be difficult to ungroup cards that have been grouped together.
Sadly we can't export result tasks into our other Sprint tool (ClickUp).

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Retrospective rituals and tracking of what happens during previous retrospectives

  ### 37. Want to support team health? Start with coherent retrospectives

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christina B. | Co-founder, product research and public engagement, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

I discovered Parabol through the responsive.org community, and the depth of knowledge about self-organization and team processes shines through.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

I would like Parabol to intetgrate with - or maybe one day replace - Asana for our software team.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parabol makes our team retros easy, and supports team health in a way that really aligns and informs our perspective on that (see here:https://www.socialroots.io/focus-on-team-health)

  ### 38. Parabol has what you’re looking for

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

Parabol has been an excellent tool to use with my remote teams. It is user friendly and makes for more efficient collaboration and streamlined team meetings.

I mainly use Parabol for Sprint Retrospectives. Some of my favorite features of Parabol:

No need to share my screen. Users follow along on their own screens.

Anonymous comments (really!)

Summary email sent to all team members at end of meeting.

Easy to add action items during the retro and keeps them in a convenient place to follow up on.

Tons of retro templates to choose from and you can customize anything to fit your needs.

Overall, I would highly recommend Parabol to any remote agile team looking for a comprehensive and easy-to-use project management solution.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

I do wish i could use the Sprint Poker feature without having to link with Jira. Maybe there is a way but I haven't found it.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote team meetings that are organized and easy to use

  ### 39. An app great for retrospectives and sync meetings

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

The interface is great and the way it walks you and your team through the flow of any given meeting is intuitive and nice

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

The task board should have more features

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Retrospective meetings and sync meetings

  ### 40. Productive Meetings Start with Parabol

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah D. | Marketing Manager, Developer Relations , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

Parabol makes hosting retrospectives with my team for the various events where we were an exhibitor incredibly productive. There are usually so many different topics and paths we could take the conversation down, but with Parabol, the time we have together is organized and endorsed/voted on by participants in real-time. I love the anonymous nature of the comments to help encourage teammates to speak up and share their takeaways. It is also tremendously helpful from a documentation standpoint with the digest at the end that goes to participants' emails.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

The retrospectives I host with my team don't always include the same people each time. For example, I may have Employees A, B, and C in one retro and then Employees A, D, and E in another. The issue here is that I have not discovered any way to avoid sending every retro digest to A, B, C, D, and E, regardless of whether they were in the actual retro. In other words, everyone gets everything and doesn't need to get everything, so I wish there were a way to control that. I've been deleting and re-adding people to my "org" each time.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Retrospectives can easily get off track and become ineffective, and Parabol helps avoid that!

  ### 41. An awesome tool for any agile team!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sandra N. | Scrum Master, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

The ease of use and intuitive UI to meet our agile teams' everyday needs: stand-ups, sprint poker, and our favourite: sprint retro!

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

Nothing yet! We love using this tool throughout a sprint!

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating a safe space for the team to pool their anonymous reflections and then sharing it with the rest of the team to support our journey of relentless continuous improvement!

  ### 42. Parabol is the best way to handle Agile ceremonies remotely

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

It is simple yet powerful to hold Agile ceremonies remotely, keep track of the discussion and action items

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

A small improvement would be to have a way for Parabol to include chat conversations in the summary of the retrospectives

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Holding Agile ceremonies such as retrospective or poker planning

  ### 43. Parabol is a real game changer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ratheesh N. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

I have to admit that I am relatively a very new user of Parabol, but I wish I used this tool in my previous roles as well. It is very helpful in running Agile ceremonies and makes it easy to summarise the same. It is also very fun and intuitive to use. Highly recommended.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

Nothing major to say here other than very rare problems I encounter with the integration of certain Jira types, but I still think its more of a Jira problem than a Parabol one.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly for agile ceremonies, especially to help with estimation and determination of story points.

  ### 44. Great product!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

I use Parabol to run retrospectives for my teams, and I like how it automates the process in phases, making it easier to share information and talk about it.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

My only dislike is the topic i discussed with Lili, adding the option to play some soft jams during the timer while the team is adding comments or voting on a topic. Similar to Figjams on Figma.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are solving the issue of the team's awkward silence when adding comments. Soft music would be helpful.

  ### 45. Easy, well structured, well recommended

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Damian B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

How intuitive and simple it is in use. Onboarding users is easy, following the steps is easy, and execution of retro as the meeting is simple.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

How the action items are handled, is not easy to follow up on them. I'm not sure if there's an integration with JIRA to create tickets. Sometimes while grouping tickets the top ticket isn't the one that I would like it to be, it is frustrating.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How to execute a retrospective meeting quickly and efficiently. The tool is so simple and intuitive that any non-tech person could use it too.

  ### 46. Greatest retro tool I used (SM with 15y in the trenches)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tomasz N. | Scrum Master, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

Ease of use. Very pleasent to look at and work with. Minimalistic approach. Availability of ways to do a retro with lots of templates.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

I don't feel like the comments section is needed at all. I think there should be only action items or comments if no action items have been set. I feel like that section could use some design changes.
Oh, dont mark past steps as completeled when i move though parts of retro. 10/10 teams use retro boards as a open board from 1st day of the sprint.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Running retros and now refinements.

  ### 47. Very easy retros for remote teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

We use Parabol for sprint retrospectives and love its ease of use. I've used several other retro tools before Parabol, and I like this the best. The ability to have multiple users create cards anonymously, then group them, up vote/down vote. This allows my teams to discuss topics in order of importance, based on their votes. While several other tools offer this ability, the #1 item that sets Parabol apart, is the email summary recap, love it!

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

While I love the email summary, everyone that has ever been a part of the team will receive the email; there needs to be a way to update the list of respondents (this has been discussed with support, as it is a common complaint).

There can be confusion with comments and tasks.
I've also noticed that in the email summary, comments are shown. However, it's tough to know what the comment was referring to. For example, if we group several cards together and make a comment, the comment is not attached to any given card. As a workaround, I've learned to prefix the comment with a quick summary of the grouped cards.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to run retros in a fun, engaging atmosphere. Often retros can be boring, tedious, and mundane; Parabol helps to alleviate a lot of these issues.

  ### 48. Useful tool for scrum cooperation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Piotr D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

Parabol is very useful in everyday cooperation with the development team when we have backlog refinement or at the end of a sprint when we want to organize a retrospective meeting. What is the best for me - we can keep history and assign tasks to people using the same tool we organize meetings.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

What can extend features - for example, the ability to add a different scale for each task for estimation.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One tool for more actions.

  ### 49. Parabol

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

Helpful for distributed / remotely operating teams.
Super helpful and insightful tools to run effective meetings

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

So far I have been happy with Parabol, no real complaints. I will note, I am not using it as an agile developer

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like the suggestions for meeting kickoffs
I like the blog posts--helps me continually think about how I am running meetings for a distributed team

  ### 50. Found It

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dana Paulette P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Parabol?**

I found parabol in the nick of time. I was searching for a retrospective tool that would be flexible, innovative, easy to use, and free.

**What do you dislike about Parabol?**

Pricing structure. Free doesn't mean free there are always conditions.

**What problems is Parabol solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Facilitating retrospectives and sizing of user stories.
