However, it would be beneficial if relocating licensing could be more self-service, eliminating the need to contact customer support. I have used Iguana for years and have rarely had to contact support. The times I have, they have been very helpful and resolved my issues quickly. Each new upgrade has only improved the usability and function of Iguana. **What do you dislike about Iguana?** One of the downsides of Iguana is the way it stores logs. At least in my scenario, it will fill a log drive quickly and I have to maintain a smaller number of days in my history. I have had to create a secondary database to store the log files for future reference. **What problems is Iguana solving and how is that benefiting you?** Iguana allows us to communicate with our clients via HL7 and transmit orders, demographics and reports between our systems and theirs. Would also like the ability for Interfaceware to provide more Services. We use it to monitor for edge cases and clean up data exceptions. We use it for batch jobs. We use it for API's and SFTP interfaces. We use it for huge database operations. We use it for alerting and email notifications. Dealing with Interfaceware staff is always a pleasant experience. **What do you dislike about Iguana?** Iguana currently has scaling, and "high-availability" shortcomings; its current message logging system has reliability and efficiency issues when dealing with large messages (HL7 containing encoded PDFs, etc.) and large volumes of data. While I like Lua, the language lacks the functionality and performance needed at times. There is also the issue of needing multiple Iguana servers to spread out channel loads; this makes support and configuration changes much more cumbersome. Ideally, Interfaceware would improve these issues by allowing the Iguana software to better utilize multi-core CPU server architecture that can be load balanced between 2 servers. **What problems is Iguana solving and how is that benefiting you?** We recently migrated our EHR to Epic from Cerner; as Epic doesn't allow the same level of message manipulation and flexibility on their Bridges engine that Cerner's OpenEngine provided, we are more reliant on Iguana for making sure data is properly formatted, filtered, and getting to where it needs to go. ### 10. This is a product that works for both small companies (we started with only 3 interfaces) or huge companies. **What do you dislike about Iguana?** The reporting options are very limited and must be built by your own team, unless you have the enterprise package. There are few functionality updates with the product over a number of years. **What problems is Iguana solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have a large amount of data that needs to be transformed from CSV / HL7 / Delimited into HL7 data and Iguana helps streamline the initial interface builds as well as track and fix any ongoing issues. ### 11. I would like it even more if I could define hooks to our custom classes in C#. **What do you dislike about Iguana?** Our channels keep crashing. I wish they were configurable to "soft crash" so they resume after a pause in database availability. If database resources temporarily are temporarily available, channels crash. Every night, I get a raft of emails that our (~50%) channels have crashed. Each morning I have to restart them manually. **What problems is Iguana solving and how is that benefiting you?** Iguana addresses our integration needs by allowing us to connect to VPN and SFTP interfaces. It may be helpful to be able to create branches and leg multiple developers work on different branches and merge and then push to staging or production. Everything is written locally to the server, if the server were to become compromised then you lose everything, unless you have a backup. **What problems is Iguana solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Iguana to receive incoming ADT from our healthcare customers, which is vital for our software to function. Iguana allows us to deploy a uniform/standard configuration that can be easily installed and then modified from site to site, all while retaining a high level of supportability. ### 34. Easy to use. Creating net-new interfaces is a breeze. It's also incredibly stable. **What do you dislike about Iguana?** Given how my organization uses the product, .vmd files can be a bit cumbersome. **What problems is Iguana solving and how is that benefiting you?** My organization processes thousands of data feeds for hundreds of customers. Iguana provides the flexibility and extensibility we need to allow a relatively smal group of individuals support a large footprint of customers. ### 36. Support there is insanely toxic. **What problems is Iguana solving and how is that benefiting you?** This was used to send patient demographics data from one system to another in order to sync the patient census.
