Also, it has features like storing bookmarks, manage history, manage cookies which are really great. Voice search and image search features are also really helpful. Really recommended to use Chromium.

**What do you dislike about Chromium?**

I sometimes miss the integrated translation of Google Chrome. Be advised that some features in Chrome are proprietary additions. It's mostly things that deal with Google's online services. But hey, at least you've still got the usual web interface for most things.

**What problems is Chromium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chromium, as enabled by its free software license, comes from our operating system's package manager, which allows us to install and update it really easily. And that lets us have a browser to test on which is close enough for the enormously popular Chrome browser.

I recognize that I use Chromium as a second browser. In my work I need to open a large number of tabs so I need more than one browser. Chromium is giving me excellent results at the navigation level. I am very satisfied with its full compatibility with the Ubuntu operative system. I am very happy that an open source project is giving me such good results and allows me to use all the functionalities I need.

**What do you dislike about Chromium?**

I guess when we talk about Chromium it is inevitable to compare it with Google Chrome. In my opinion, Chrome is still ahead of Chromium in several tools. I also want to emphasize that it is normal, we are comparing a browser with a lot of funding with an open source one. If I can choose what to improve in Chromium, it would improve the management of saved passwords. I am usually very happy.

Small in size and fast and the way it keeps up with the pace of technology innovation. Allowing People to work on the extensions and having a system in place to grow the development community as well. It's always my go to browser. Developer tools that are available with Chrome is another thing that I really like. It's very helpful for my testing team to look at the errors, api responses and recommendations that come out of the tool is simply awesome.

**What do you dislike about Chromium?**

Sometimes my default search gets changed to some website which I didn't intend to do. I don't have control on changing it back and always have to manually change it. If there is a way to avoid this hurdle would be great help for me. Coming to the Chromium OS, the branding and usage has to be worked on even more than the current market share they have. I have a small experience overall with Chromium OS.

**Recommendations to others considering Chromium:**

If you are planning to use for Developer tools, storing confidential information and making your life faster would be a nice tool to start using. The ease of use, the developer tools and the fact that as a web dev, it's easier to review your pages on Chromium.

**What do you dislike about Chromium?**

The cache function. There should be an option to temporarily switch of chaching so that when you're developing, you don't need to empty the cache every time you create or make changes to a style sheet.

**Recommendations to others considering Chromium:**

It's a good product and I can recommend anybody to use it.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew S. | Individual Contributor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2017

**What do you like best about Chromium?**

Chromium is my favourite 100% of my internet time browser. Despite it is very popular worldwide it was my favourite web browser long before it; using it as web IDE / testing / development tool also.
I am currently using latest development build for linux x64 directly updating from chromium developers site and with custom bash wrapper with plenty commandline flags to fine-tune and optimize for browser experience and development pusrposes.
Chromium supports all latest tecnlogies and standards, it is important for those who expect "something new" every day. Chromium is extremely secure to even forget about browser security issues with web-sites and content, some additional settings and filters are applied by extensions.

**What do you dislike about Chromium?**

I think high RAM consumption is a small disadvantage, especially along with flash videos, but as soon as flash will be deprecated it is not a problem.

**Recommendations to others considering Chromium:**

Just use chromium. It has tons of features.

**What problems is Chromium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. full stack development with chrome devloper tools
2. access to advanced technologies like webvr, webgl, webrtc, html5

  ### 45. Great browser, specially for developers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex P. | Senior Javascript / NodeJS Developer, Computer Software, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2015

**What do you like best about Chromium?**

- The loading speed
- The extra privacy it offers (less data sent to 3rd parties)
- The extra speed it offers, due to less bloatware
- The fact that the upcoming core browser features usually comes to chromium first, rather than chrome
- The development tools
- The ability to create workspaces, which allows me to work on my project right inside the browser, where they are intended to be used)
- The cache's behavior
- The stability is relatively good, considering we are talking about a browser version that most of the time is a nightly build
- The tooling it provides for performance optimization / analytics
- The lack of excessive branding

**What do you dislike about Chromium?**

- The fact that even though it supports most of the Chrome's functionality and commodities
- The update process can sometimes turn out to be pretty tedious
- The instability (on Windows / Mac)
- The sync ability
- The lack of AAC, MP3 and H.264 support

**Recommendations to others considering Chromium:**

If you are either concerned about your privacy, or want to use a a great development browser that does not require any kind of installation, you can be sure that chromium will fit the bill, specially if you're using linux.
However, If you are either using Windows, or are in need for a browser which you also intend to use for entertainment purposes, I would not recommend it. With all that said, please keep in mind that Chromium does not want to be the same as Chrome. Chrome is basically an enhanced, friendlier version of Chromium.

**What problems is Chromium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- I am mainly using chromium whenever I need to get something done quickly, and I find myself in need of a good browser, with good support for the latest standards

  ### 46. If you value privacy over experience, Chromium is for you

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2015

**What do you like best about Chromium?**

Chromium shares the same DNA as Google Chrome, which means that the browsing experience is very similar (both browsers use the same rendering engine and the same JavaScript engine), while privacy concerns are mostly addressed due to the lack of activity tracking.

**What do you dislike about Chromium?**

Privacy comes at a price. No automatic updates (unless you're running Linux), and no automated updates for Flash. On top of that, not all plugins work. With a bit of digging around, you can get it to the same level of versatility as its younger brother, but that requires time and effort.

**Recommendations to others considering Chromium:**

Chromium is a good browser. If you value privacy and don't mind encountering the odd plugin required/not supported issue, I strongly recommend using it as your daily browser, especially if you're using Linux. For Windows/OSX the experience is a little poorer, but still completely serviceable.

**What problems is Chromium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to do all the work I need to do online with Chromium. A web browser is something you don't really notice, unless it's bad, and Chromium is definitely not bad. I can browse the web, use all sorts of web apps without even thinking about it. And even though I'm not terribly worried about privacy, it's good to know an extra layer is there.

  ### 47. Google Chrome Quickly Overtook Firefox and Definitely Internet Explorer as the Go-To Browser For All

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** D. Marshall L. | Owner and CEO, Computer Networking, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2015

**What do you like best about Chromium?**

Google Chrome's (Chromium's) speed and security prove unrivaled compared to the other "majors" like Internet Explorer and Firefox. Moreover, the ecosystem of plugins, extensions, and themes is far superior to other web browsers. This truly is a browser that can appeal to the most casual Internet user, all the way to a professional developer.

**What do you dislike about Chromium?**

Not much to dislike. It doesn't come pre-installed on every computer, so there's that.

**Recommendations to others considering Chromium:**

Just use it. There's no competing web browser that is nearly as good.

**What problems is Chromium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for personal browsing and business "browsing" along with the primary tool when I develop websites. It's very quick development policy on adopting the newest browser standards and being standards-compliant allows me to also use these standards when developing web applications.

  ### 48. Very simple. Very powerful

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2013

**What do you like best about Chromium?**

Has the power of Chrome behind it. The way Chrome/chromium has been architected mean it should be very stable and quick. - in test the is very true. great OS. However still needs a lot more to be used for heavy business use

**What do you dislike about Chromium?**

If you have many tabs open it slows down massively.
Also If you don't have an internet connection there isn't much you can do.

**Recommendations to others considering Chromium:**

If you have it on your machine keep with it.
I cannot see using it on a big powerful desktop
