## Appsmith Reviews
  ### 1. Effortless Setup and Business-Friendly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Obed N.

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

I appreciate how Appsmith caters well to business users, making it a valuable tool in a professional setting. I find the dashboard and admin panels particularly impressive, as they offer a streamlined experience for entering information efficiently without the hassle of excessive scrolling. This functionality acts as a real time-saver and is especially beneficial when dealing with large amounts of data. Additionally, the initial setup of Appsmith is incredibly straightforward, akin to solving a simple mathematical problem, which makes getting started with the software a breeze.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

Nothing,I have yet recognised

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Appsmith's dashboard and admin panels save time by providing an easy way to input required information without scrolling delays.

  ### 2. Smooth, Easy-to-Navigate UI with Key Details on One Page

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

Its user interface is smooth and easy to navigate where most details are accessible in a single page.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

Maybe a color differentiation in the UI would make it much more easier for navigation

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are checking logs pertaining to Audits, emails, kinds, etc

  ### 3. Appsmith — Open Source Internal Tool Builder

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Varun S. | Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

Drag-and-drop UI components.
Built-in JavaScript support for logic.
Role-based access control (RBAC).
Self-hosted or Cloud options.
Community-driven & active support.
Very easy to connect with SQL, REST APIs, GraphQL.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

UI customization is limited (compared to pure frontend code).
Large datasets can slow down widgets if not optimized.
Requires backend queries for complex logic (limited frontend-only solutions).
Manual work is still there like binding and logic building

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Appsmith is helping me solve the problem of building internal admin dashboards and management tools quickly without spending a lot of time on frontend development.

Instead of building everything from scratch, I can easily connect my database (PostgreSQL), write custom queries, and design a functional UI using drag-and-drop widgets.

This saves a lot of development time and allows me to focus more on business logic rather than UI boilerplate.

It’s also helping my team by making non-technical users easily manage data (like users, transactions, roles, etc.) in a safe and controlled environment without giving them direct database access.

  ### 4. Easy to use low code application

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ritankar D. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2024

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

In Appsmith I don't need to write any code for design, I can simply focus on the functionality for my application. Its drag-and-drop interface and wide range of integrations make it easy to create custom applications quickly. Whether you're a developer or not, Appsmith empowers you to boost your productivity.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

The only thing I don't like about appsmith is sometimes it does becomes laggy and drops in performance while extensive usage like loading speed for your application.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My last project in my company was creating a Dashboard for tech support, If I had made the Dashboard using any other front-end tool it would have taken me well over a month but with appsmith I had done it in within few weeks. Yes, something to consider, our company is a start up so not many people will be using the page and I'm new to this industry with little experience. When our company grows it will be a little difficult to maintain traffic in appsmith but right now it is perfect for me to make this kind of project where funtionality > design.

  ### 5. Dramatic productivity boost, delivering value from day 1

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucian M. | Freelance Data Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

I managed to build a personal finances app with a good deal of features literally from day 1, exploring on the AppSmith free plan connected to a Supabase DB. I also explored AppSheet and Budibase for the same project before, but my experience was far inferior with these alternative and I wasn't able to reach a reasonable progress in the time I was able to spend.

The speed of development is incredible and I was able to navigate my way through by only spending a few minutes on tutorials when getting blocked. The concept of having managed queries (as wrappers over the DB) makes a ton of sense, as well.

I tested so far the integration with a PostgreSQL relational DB in Supabase and the experience of setting this up was also very smooth (including the usage of the Deno framework).

It is marvelous how AppSmith combines ease-of-use with power, given that almost everything is parametrizable with JavaScript behind the scenes. Apps are never straight-cut, and my experience with low-code/no-code tools before was that I hit a roadblock where I would have needed to write a bit of code to achieve my goals.

Such a comprehensive set of features, a UX first focus and the ability to freely extend the funcitonality are for me huge wins!

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

Getting aligned to the best practices (in order to scale your efforts down the line) takes time, but that is the proper design time that needs to go behind any engineering endeavor.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- productivity from day 1
- extensibility/customizability for those 5% of the requirements that are usually hard/impossible to cover by plan low-code/no-code tools
- generous free plan to start with
- robust UX

  ### 6. Powerful yet Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alen Y. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

We've been using Appsmith since a few months and it's been a great tool. At first we we're thinking of using retool. But after trying appsmith we didn't think twice. We have a lot of different data sources and appsmith being able to hand every one of them without any additional configuration has saved us a lot of time. Its so easy to get started, even on the self hosted version. We're hosting it on AWS EC2 through the AMI and it spun up within minutes. I wish more servies offered such easy methods to get started. We're using the free version and it's been more than enough for our needs. We're planning to upgrade to the paid version soon.
Being able to embed apps is a great feature. We're using it to embed tables and other widgets in our internal dashboard.
So overall, we're very happy with appsmith and we're looking forward to using it for a long time.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

Does not have a dark mode.
I guess thats it for now

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've been using it to visualize relations and tables in our waitlist signups and mobile app signups.
We were also able to create complex tables and visualize them right as they were being created in postgres through appsmith

  ### 7. Great for building saas

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos S. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

Appsmith is an incredible tool! It requires a bit of imagination and creativity to get things done, often involving some workarounds, much like programming in general. However, it's much simpler and a lot about experimenting. Once you get the hang of it, you can understand how it works, and you feel your applications continuously improving. The UI is quite beautiful, and using Appsmith is super easy. I have used both the self-hosted and cloud versions, and both work excellently. Additionally, Appsmith has reduced my development time by at least 40%.

The way to integrate appsmith with different apis is awesome, but i would like to have a way to create a login that allows you to use your own jwt logic but not from scratch.

I use appsmith like literally every day in my work day and i am currently developing a SaaS with it, which i will be hopefully launchin soon.

Its pretty easy to deploy and to keep track of changes also, sometimes it is kind of hard to understand some conflicts on git but it is becaus of the way json are store so does not really matter.

The community is great, and their videos are helpful, i recommend asking question in discord

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

One area that could use improvement is the documentation. There are certain aspects that are hard to find information on.

Another challenge is positioning widgets exactly in the middle; arranging objects in a grid layout can be tricky.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reducing development time.
Getting MVPs done even faster.

  ### 8. Taking appsmith for a test drive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael W. | senior developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

Being able to connect to datasources and present the data in a table is quick and easy.
Creating compex forms is also straight forward, having the flexibility to add javascript code is very useful.
Also there is a large number of widgets to use which makes it possible to provide great functionality in your apps.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

its hard to find anything to dislike at this early stage, there is a big learning curve but it is worth it to be able to build apps quickly

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I hope to be able to estimate quicker development times and build complex apps that will save clients money.

  ### 9. Best No Code Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

With Appsmith, there's no need to worry about coding for design; you can focus entirely on building the functionality of your application. Its intuitive drag-and-drop interface, combined with a variety of pre-built integrations, makes it easy to create custom applications efficiently. Whether you're a seasoned developer or someone with no coding experience, Appsmith helps you streamline the development process and significantly improve your productivity.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

As long as the app meets your needs, there’s really nothing to dislike. The process may vary, but in the end, you'll achieve the results you're aiming for!

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No-code has saved us a lot of time. We work extensively with SQL data, and getting the right reports to the right people with the correct filtered views is now super simple.

We’ve built dashboards with user-selectable dropdowns, radio buttons, and more, allowing users to interact directly with Appsmith to get exactly what they need. They can also input data on their end, which is then saved to SQL based on workflow requirements.

I’m even controlling a CNC machine I built using Appsmith via API access. It’s amazing how much we can accomplish in a short time with Appsmith—I can come up with an idea and deliver the end result in just 20-60 minutes!

  ### 10. Very good low-code solution to create apps

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam M. | Software Engineer Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

AppSmith is a strong technical platform that allows for a lot of flexibility when it comes to creating platforms. There are a lot of intuitive built-in data sources but additionally the ability to implement any APIs is very helpful and easy. I use AppSmith everyday in my workplace to create various low-code applications. The customer support is also unmatched, being able to easily meeting with a specialist to get questions answered through chat or virtual meetings.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

While AppSmith was a very good platform, there were some limitations that made it difficult. For instance I was unable to upload a PDF to an OpenAI model despite the model having the capability to do so. Despite that, I was able to find a work around and still create my app to its fullest extent.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AppSmith is allowing me to turn an idea to create a web app that utilizes A.I. into a reality very fast. I needed something easy to use and that could implement the usage of an LLM which other platforms could not do or could only do in a very restrictive manner. AppSmith was the only one that allowed me to do what I needed to in a flexible manner.

  ### 11. Appsmith is a game-changer for our internal reporting & management systems

The speed from concept to implementaion is impressive.

Its super easy to grasp and use.
You can easily deploy your first app within the first hour of operaiton.

It allows seamless connections and integrations with all the resources needed to maintain reporting systems.
It also supports sending third-party API requests.
With this, the possibilities are endless.

I’ve successfully controlled my mechanical CNC machines using Appsmith.
I’ve also integrated Appsmith with ChatGPT, yielding amazing results.

Customer Support is super prompt.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

I have yet to find one reason to dislike appsmith

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We work is a lot of SQL data.
Getting the right reports to the right person with the correct filtered view is now super easy.
We've made dashboards with user selected dropdown options / Radio Buttons etc so that the user can directly interact with appsmith and get exactly what he needs.
He can then enter the data from his end and this is saved to SQL as per the workflow requirements.
I am also controlling one of my own-made CNC machine using appsmith via API access.
Its incredible what we can achieve in a very short span of time using appsmith.
I can literally think up an idea and deliver the end-result - all within 20-60 minutes.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Appsmith has dramatically reduced the time and resources needed to build applications. I was able to create a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) in just one day, a task that previously would have taken my team of two developers an entire month. This rapid development capability not only saves time but also significantly cuts costs, enabling us to iterate quickly and bring solutions to market faster. This efficiency has freed up my team to focus on other critical tasks, enhancing overall productivity and benefiting our projects immensely.

  ### 13. An exceptional productivity for internal applications ....

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Animation | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

It is useful, it supports the usual use cases of a CRUD. So far, I haven't found anything it can't do. The connectors with API and database are very well supported. In one day, I migrated a simple app from a React (Vercel) + Railway (MySQL) world to appsmith. Amazing!

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

The little separation that exists between data layers and presentation. By playing with parameters, you can isolate, but there is quite a bit of coupling.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Complexity issues, appsmith simplifies them and focuses on data entry.

  ### 14. Powerful and versatile low-code platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paige M. | Project Manager | Leading Businesses to Compliance Success , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

I've been working with low-code platforms for a while now, and Appsmith has become a real game-changer for me. Even with limited coding experience, I was up and running in no time, thanks to the drag-and-drop interface. Forget writing tons of code – Appsmith lets you focus on the functionality you need without getting bogged down in the weeds.

The pre-built components are a lifesaver. They handle all sorts of common features, which saves me a ton of time when building applications. Plus, integrating with my data sources and APIs is a breeze. No more wrestling with complex connections – Appsmith just makes it work.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

Building layouts that adapt perfectly to mobile devices could be more intuitive. And for some really advanced features, like super granular user permissions, I might need to dig in a bit deeper compared to some other platforms. But overall, Appsmith is a fantastic tool.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was able to build an MVP in one day, which is crazy. Before, that would have taken my team a month, of 2 developers working on it. Now, I saved time and money.

  ### 15. Save lots of development hours to built internal tools

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sara S. | Admin, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

It's easy to set up a lot of internal dashboards with a basic understanding of the coding. It's open source and can be connected to multiple databases and APIs. The in-built javascript support also helps to change data on the fly.

This saves a lot of developers' bandwidth and overall team's time.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

Even though the UI is much better with the current update, it needs more improvements. The Editor screen should be easy to navigate while drag and drop different components.

The help option can be improved to ask and find the solution without changing the tab and going through google search.

It would be good to have more examples of complex things.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Appsmith helps us to create an internal dashboard to handle data entry updates. It's easy to spin up a new dashboard after initial setup.

  ### 16. Making Apps Couldn't Be Any Easier

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luke H. | Data Scientist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

The ability to turn an idea into something tangiable and useful without the need of a full-blown dev team and months of planning is what makes Appsmith so valuable. The tool is very easy to pick up and learn and very intuative. Plus the free tier gives you plenty of features to get started immediately. The intregretion to many different data sources is also a huge plus.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

Being low/no code, it perhaps lacks some of the flexibility and features compared to developing something bespoke from stratch but this is to be expected. I imagine the Appsmith team will continue to add features.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It replaces a lot of manual data entry/categorisation/labeling that has been historical done in excel. This means the liklihood of incorrect data entry (and therefore inaccurate data) has been greatly reduced.

  ### 17. Great software for people with some experience developing software.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

Appsmith offers a decently powerful interface to easily create CRUD interfaces to a variety of databases and other integrations

With helpers towards some of the most consistent tasks .

By allowing you to use arbitrary SQL, JavaScript code, you are empowered to transform the data without limitations, within the confines of the application.

It's typically deployed as a monolithic OCI container, which makes it easy to deploy.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

Compared to other low code platforms, the usecases that are streamlimited are fewer.

For example, it has no integrated way to output an URL with properly encoded RFC 3986 format, however, it is capable of using the JS function encodeURIComponent() and encodeURI() to the same end.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to create frontend to our applications and databases much faster and with much lower complexity.

  ### 18. Game-Changer for Rapid Application Development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

	•	Community and Support: The Appsmith community is vibrant and supportive, and the team behind Appsmith is always improving the platform and adding new features.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

Please bring intent-based design back!!!

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rapid development. Think of any app and you have an MVP in less than a day!

  ### 19. Building internal apps fast and simple.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erik R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2024

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

Appsmith is great if you quickly want to assemble an internal app for your team or demo for your client on your own infrastructure (self-hosted) or on their servers. It can be set up in a matter of minutes on IOT-platforms or (as we did) Docker. It has plenty of readily available building blocks to swiftly drag-and-drop a UI, is easy to navigate, and great to extend upon using JavaScript and SQL. They are constantly rolling out new features, have very fair Professional pricing and a great and helpful support team.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

What appsmith lacks is an extensive framework for UI customization. You can switch between ready themes or do some basic customization, but making an app look really good or exactly as the client wants it to look like is tedious and sometimes not possible at all due to a lack of CSS access. Moreover, making apps "responsive" to be used by all devices and screen sizes is not possible. They are currently working on it, though and I'm eager to see what else they will come up with.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Appsmith, I was able to draft internal apps for multiple clients to view, alter, and store data, automate processes, and generate reports.

  ### 20. Hands down once of the best custom dashboard creators

3. Versatile - I've built a myraid of internal and customer facing tools using this from a status dashboard to a search/demo portal for APIs
4. Generous free tier

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

1. Needs a better way to deal with JSON responses.
2. Tables need to be a bit more flexible to handle horizontal tables

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Eliminates custom dev for less complex internal tools / monitors
2. Enables me to build quick and dirty MVPs of my mini-products which can be refined into a full product post customer feedback

  ### 21. Easy to use and better pricing compare to competition’s

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vineet K. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

I liked the shortcuts that made the navigation faster and quick to debug and find the issues and the shortcut actions are similar to what I used to use in other code editing.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

I don't think there's anything to dislike as long as the app serves what you need, maybe there will be a difference in how the process happens but in the end, you will get the result you are looking for!

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the issue of time, instead of waisitng time to build such as tables and binding data all of that can be done quickly and smoothly.

  ### 24. User-friendly with more competitive pricing compared to competitors

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

It would be great to have branding features included in the free plan or a paid plan dedicated solely to branding.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps you rapidly deploy a fully functional UI application based on your API or database in just minutes. What I liked most is the ability to create pages that allow direct editing and updating of the database, making basic tasks much easier and faster.

  ### 25. Easy to use, flexible tool that provides a fast method to create functional pages.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kessler M. | IT Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

Appsmith provides an easy to understand method to quickly create interfaces for my SQL backend. Allowing niche use case applications to be constructed quickly and simply. It was easy to set up and use, and has become a daily tool for many functions company wide.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

Its tools are all relatively simple, and limited in customization. There are only a handful of styling options.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There were a number of positions that needed to view data in our ERP software that could otherwise only be seen across several applications. Appsmith has allowed us to build tools that compile this data, and allow us to restrict or grant modification of this data to specifc fields/positions/individuals.

  ### 26. Using Appsmith I forgot using custom solutions in Automations.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

Nothing so far, I faced reloading issues while switching to pages but now it's solved with new update!

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My developer told me Appsmith is a good platform to build anything which requires GUI and it's free..

  ### 27. Best tool for dashboards

The best thing about Appsmith is that it is easy as well as fun to build the pages. It helps a lot in terms of generating data views and reports.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

There's nothing much to dislike. Maybe they could support external libraries.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has largely reduced our dependency on data base queries for fetching and transforming data.

  ### 28. Best open source lowcode app builder

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anil R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

It is feature rich. It has all the basic widgets and elements required to build complex applications.
The development workflow is easy to integrate into our existing process with git.

The Appsmith team is very productive, releasing features at a very fast pace. They are also very reachable in case of issues.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

The release cycle can be better managed. Git based workflow is constantly breaking or hanging. A little more QA before release or partial rollouts would be advisable.

When the application reaches a certain level of complexity, there are performance issues. Unfortunately the flexibility of the platform is both it's strength and weakness as we can inadvertently perform a task in an inefficient way which leads to further degradation in user experience.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal application development

  ### 29. Quick way to build customized applications

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shaik J. | Product Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

UI can be improved. Need to have workflow similar to Retool to automate data flows between tables.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped us to quickly build flows within our warehouse which processes 10L pax on a daily basis. This helped us alot for quicker order fulfillment.

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

Appsmith is very intuitive to use, it is easy to install, works reliably.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

There are missing features in the free version that would be nice to have, such as SSO.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using Appsmith to create a web front-end for our users so they can populate a database of protected wildlife species. The data entry workflow is somewhat complex, and it uses dynamic forms. We were able to implement it in Appsmith with ease, thanks to its JSObject features, allowing you to program complex logic in the forms using Javascript. Compared to developing the application from scratch and taking care of running SQL queries, AppSmith looks like a great choice, which helped us to save a lot of time and to be able to iterate much quicker according to everchanging client requirements.

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

We love its user interface and the diversity of widgets to build dashboards. Also, how easy it is to connect to multiple databases.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

The pricing structure could be more granular. If you need one single feature in the Enteprise plan, you have to buy the whole thing. Why not sell specific features across all plans?

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Appsmith is helping us build our internal hub for client data management and braking data silos. We're also rebuilding internal workflows that actually run on other tools. We want to have one single place for all our client management.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

Actually There is no downside, Appsmith provides what a perfect opensource tool must provide and also exceeds my expectations

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

to make better internal tools and make them interative easily

  ### 42. Quick, decently powerful

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajvardhan M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

It's surprisingly easy to quickly put up a few screens, add some basic forms, make a workflow and throw up a dashboard. Retool's another really good option out there and, to be fair, is faster when it comes to putting up standard workflows in the typical org super quickly, but the pricing is a downer.

Being open-source helps and the rabid community is a big plus.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

It's a bit light on native connectors. APIs aren't hard but I feel like some of the basics could/should have been easier to set up like sending an email, or pushing a message to a Slack channel based on events, stuff like that.

UI elements are a bit limited, reusability isn't a thing, and I don't love the responsiveness in mobile.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Makes it a lot easier to prototype and release stuff very quickly. I've noticed that stuff we've built has been sticking around lately and we haven't had/wanted to build full apps yet. Especially useful for those bridge-y internal tooling needs.

  ### 43. Appsmith for easy app building

If you want whip up a dashboard or somethng to display data very very quickly, then Appsmith is probably the tool that will let you get that done in the fastest possible time. You can literally just connect a data source like google sheets or a DBMS and then have your UI ready right away.

I wish the onboarding journey would have guided me a bit better on how to go about using the tool. I also feel like the UI and workflow can seem clunky and could be slightly more polished.
But on the plus side, all the options that you need is right there infront of you.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It takes away the thinking of how to go about using a low-code tool and really helps you get things done in quick manner.
There is almost no friction in getting a dashboard up and running.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Himanshu K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

With AppSmith we have been able to ship a growth dashboard for Openvy, and an employee leave management tool in 4 weeks flat. Currently working on shipping another internal dashboard to track our user activity in the app.

Appsmith's developer-first features have made shipping really fast. Developers can also write code anywhere & also separate code into objects without managing it on the canvas.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

Some performances lag when we have large tables. Managing queries separately from the UI is a challenge today. It would be great if these issues gets unified soon.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Appsmith's developer-first features make low-code shipping really fast. Developers can also write code anywhere and use existing parts with ease in future shipping!

  ### 46. Best Tool for Creating Small Scale Dashboard

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akash G. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

Appsmith offers an exceptional feature that truly captivates me its seamless connectivity to diverse data sources and remarkable ability to transform them into user-friendly, tabular formats effortlessly. This incredible functionality empowers both the business and analytics teams to swiftly access and analyse the data they need.

It's like having the power to effortlessly create a dashboard that enables these teams to independently solve their problems, eliminating the need for constant assistance from the backend team.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

While there is a feature in Appsmith that I believe could enhance its capabilities, I would like to mention the lack of seamless navigation between function calls in the backend, as we often find in other types of IDEs. I believe that by incorporating this feature, Appsmith would undoubtedly become an even more powerful tool, further streamlining our workflow and empowering us to achieve outstanding results

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my company, we have encountered a specific use case that involves creating a user interface exclusively for a small group of 10-15 individuals. This UI will primarily serve the purpose of triggering on-demand runs and displaying the corresponding results in a tabular format. To optimize efficiency and avoid overburdening our front-end and back-end engineers, we have found a solution that perfectly fits our needs. With this remarkable tool, the front-end development process becomes a breeze, thanks to its intuitive drag-and-drop interface. Furthermore, creating APIs for the front-end widgets is incredibly straightforward, ensuring a seamless integration of functionalities. By leveraging this tool, we are able to maximize our resources and deliver a powerful solution without unnecessary strain on our development team.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shawn L. | Principal Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

Just how developer friendly it is - the thought placed into making the coding experience, the documentation, the infrastructure deployment. I could go on. Their support staff is also incredibly responsive on their intercom chat. The pricing of appsmith is also best-in-class in the market.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

Currently appsmith does not have features related to reusability. So this could impact applications that need to share components and code across pages. However it is part of their roadmap as I typed this.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Build internal tools 10X faster. I don't have to maintain my own custom internal tools code any more. Yes I am way more productive with it. Business performance is definitely better thanks to the ability of creating such internal dashboards.

  ### 49. Very easy to use tool to create dashboards!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aditya N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

Super- easy to create UI layers on multiple data sources, so we can free up engineering bandwidth. My co-founder ( the CTO) loves it because it's opensource. I also like the fact that the pricing is usage based - it's fair and transparent, I wish other software companies also follow suit.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

I'd like to see more UI elements to make my dashboards look better!

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I run a services company and i'm able to create simple kan-ban boards to track requests and streamline operations. As a non-techie, Appsmith has made my life much easier!

  ### 50. Appsmith is to internal tools what a co-pilot is to code

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikhil C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Appsmith?**

We have extensively used Appsmith to fulfill a substantial portion of our engineering and marketing internal tool needs at Plane. This product has proven exceedingly valuable, primarily owing to its capability to rapidly establish connections with various data sources in a matter of minutes.

**What do you dislike about Appsmith?**

Performance can occasionally slow down, particularly when dealing with larger datasets, especially rows exceeding 5000. Seen bunch of feature requests on their GitHub, looking forward for lazy loads, better pagination etc.

**What problems is Appsmith solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to using Appsmith, we constructed the majority of our internal tools (including dashboards for performance monitoring and marketing automations) from the ground up using Next.js. However, with the introduction of Appsmith, connecting to our existing data and creating tools atop it became remarkably effortless.
