## About 8base
8base is a low-code platform for building and running feature-rich digital products including SaaS solutions, marketplaces and other web and mobile applications. The 8base platform helps entrepreneurs and creators in established companies bring their product visions to life; faster, better and more economically. Additionally, digital agencies use 8base to deliver client projects faster while increasing their margins and reducing their reliance on scarce and expensive software development talent. 8base is a configurable, serverless low-code development framework hosted on AWS that exposes the world's most robust GraphQL-based query language for APIs; and unlike other platforms, 8base has been built from the ground up to use standards and widely accepted technologies that appeal to mainstream developers and ensures a creator’s intellectual property can be ported to other platforms if the need ever arises. 8base offers: 1) low-code development tools for building software backends and APIs; 2) serverless computing and storage infrastructure for running applications built using 8base tools; 3) visual frontend development tools; 4) design and development services via a partner network to assist customers with building applications using 8base. 8base first commercialized in 2019. Today, thousands of customers including numerous multi-tenant SaaS and marketplace startups, custom software development agencies and consultancies, and larger organizations such as IBM Global Services/NATO and Florida International University build on 8base.

## 8base Reviews
 ### 1. Low code development is the future and 8base is the perfect tool to achieve that.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Esteban E. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

8base is a strong platform for full-stack services integrating backend and frontend, allowing the users to develop fast, scalable, and amazing products.

Comparing this with other platforms 8base is at another level as low code platform for all the things that include between frontend and backend that allows you to create a full product.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

8base is a complete product and doesn't have anything that I dislike, the team is continuing to work on improving the service, and platform.

The support service is really good, and you don't have any to worry about.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reduce times of development.
Create backend services with really good quality without spending too much time.
Create good frontend websites, appearance, and functionality without spending too much time on styles, functionality, and things that you need to do from code.
Solve problems of authentication that is always a lot of work when you create a project from 0.

 ### 2. Easy solution right out of the box (per se)

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy P. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

8Base is set up so that any one can use it right out of the box. I have some team members who are not technically inclined but they were able to use it without much technical instruction.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

While to app builder in intuitive there really should be more templates that you can use right out of the box. This would benefit those who do not have the best technical skills

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal applications that needed to be released in a qucik manner

 ### 3. EXTREMELY intuitive - backend published within minutes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Željko Will V. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

As a backend developer who likes to jump right in w/o reading the docs (yes, I'm that guy) - I was pleasantly surprised I could set up a production-ready backend within 15 minutes!!

I just defined a couple of DB tables, clicked a couple of buttons, and voila -> backend deployed, APIs automatically working (including pagination, filtering, etc.)

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

Not much, really. Some old habits die hard because I like seeing a lot of code and everything explicitly defined (in code). But the entire purpose of 8base is to write less code and be more productive.

Plus, everything that is automatically generated can be customized, so I have nothing to worry about.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Starting new projects, testing new ideas, and getting them to market used to be 10 times harder with all the usual development overhead.

Not only do things get done faster now, but also the entire project is production-ready and scalable. So if an idea I'm testing goes viral, I KNOW I can take on a million new users overnight without any code adjustments. That is truly powerful.

 ### 4. Useful and time-saving platform for building large applications

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eliecer T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

The ease with which data models can be created and interacted with.

The API explorer is helpful for quickly building and testing CRUD operations.

How there is always a way to build an idea with the tools of the platform.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

The data views could have an option to double click on a field with a referenced relation and either take you to it, or show a popup with the information of the foreign, referenced element.

The logs could be separated per function, as in, whenever I click a function name on the platform, I see a log of its executions and the console.log/console.errors that belong to that function specifically. Other than that, any improvement that would make the logs more helpful for debugging would be greatly appreciated.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Increased ease of managing backend operations and data modeling. The type "File" and how 8base handles file uploads is very useful and time saving. Speed of development is undeniably increased. Having most backend needs met by one platform is convenient.

 ### 5. Unique platform, but sometimes very unstable

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dmitry D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

1) a truly unique platform, which has no analogues at the moment
2) convenient development tools
3) technical support that is ready to help - up to direct contact with the developers of the platform

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

1) sometimes (quite often, actually) there are various bugs during deployments, due to which the work can stop before they are fixed - the platform is definitely not completely stable
2) even if deployments are made without errors, they take a VERY long time - sometimes it can take up to 20 minutes
3) the absence of a public changelog - the development team working with the platform may not be aware of breaking changes at all, if any
4) closed source code - perhaps 8base would be more suitable for the model that, for example, Hasura uses
5) not very good documentation, which practically does not reflect real cases of using the platform - a lot of knowledge about it (including knowledge about various "pitfalls") is kept in the minds of developers, and is obtained through the experience of using the platform, and not from the docs

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1) no need to think about project infrastructure - the platform provides a convenient and ready-to-use backend
2) no need to think about the organization of the database due to a fairly convenient visual representation that hides implementation details (for example, relationships), and migrations
3) the platform also provides a convenient way to manage user permissions

 ### 6. 8base is a great platform to quickly setup a GQL-based backend for your app.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aleksandr P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

8base does its job in terms of being a good BAAS.
You can set up your DB schema & business logic fast and troubleless.
Roles and permissions management is also done well.
With their platform, it's easy to manage any backend-related task.
I'd also like to appreciate the fact that you can self host the product when your product needs it.
Whenever we would face an issue, 8base engineers were quick to help us.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

8base is lambda based, which brings lambda-related issues.
It won't be easy to handle a huge load, even though it is possible with extra effort.
Out-of-the-box logs are tough to work with, but self-hosted solution helps (AWS cloudwatch)
They have their own gql transform engine which sometimes may be of an issue and without gql-to-sql transparency it can be tough to optimize certain requests.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allowed us to define a data model, deploy our own custom backend logic and utilize GQL for client.
8base allows frontend developers to experience the fullstack experience with little to no trouble.

 ### 7. Working with the 8base Backend low code solution

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

The most interesting functionality for 8base is the queries and mutations it creates when a table schema is created, which makes time efficient. Also the ability to use the UI to make changes in the tables.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

There is some stuff that can be improved as for example, the queries that can be used in the tables are quiet limited and very slow sometimes for bulk operations. Another thing that does not make a lot of sense is that relations between tables are created in weird ways that sometimes make it impossible to do certain mutations. Another thing is that the changes made on the tables directly are soft, they are not really 100% reflected on the database and that creates a mix of data that does not make sense at all. Also documentation is tremendously outdated.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saving time on the creation of the schemas and queries to make operations with the data inside a database

 ### 8. I love 8base

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Geral C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

It is very easy to use. You can start integrating and making aplications very easy. Also, the documentation is very good to get started. I love the 8base web platform that allows you to see your data.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

It would be great if there are more tutorials in youtube or any other platform. So it would be easy to become an expert in 8base. Also, it would be helpfull to have more code examples.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is making easier to make web aplications and also to mantain them. It has a lot of benefits. It is making me 100 times more productive. My bussiness is 100 times better now.

 ### 9. Commitment to innovation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Doron S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

Have been following the evolution of the low-code platform for several years. The 8base team keeps introducing new features and productivity tools for developers that make the experience of building on the platform a snap. Historically known for its focus on backend-as-a-service, 8base now expanded its offering to the front-end with a React-based UI component library. I like their intent adherence to standards such as GraphQL and dedication to developer experience.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

Albeit its track record and good reputation, 8base is still a small company and hasn't broken yet into mainstream brand awareness. This moderate growth in visibility limits its broader adoption among developers who use the platform in companies ranging from startups to large enterprises.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform is highly efficient for creating showcase and MVP applications from scratch. I've primarily used it for demos and showcase apps in events.

 ### 10. 8base has provided a nice experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yeinson V. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

I think 8base is very nice for creating projects rapidly. I really like the graphql features it has, and the easy way it has to enhance the backend with the custom functions.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

I think one of the downsides is the documentation, it is something hard to find what you want to do, so it leads sometimes to delays in the development process.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It serves as the database where we are storing different projects; then we are using the graphql services in order to make the queries and mutations in an easy and fast way

 ### 11. Does core functionality of providing a GraphQL backend really well

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alfred . | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

Super easy backend solution. I like the GUI for managing the DB.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

Well, for the frontend; it does the eaisy things easier but the hard things harder
Backend: would be nice to have some further development such as integration with zapier and such. Feels a bit dead in terms of updates.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes it so that I dont have to build and manage a DB with for example Prisma (which is also really good)

 ### 12. Reliable Partners

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

Solution Advisors foster confidence that 8base is sincerely invested in customer success. Native toolset is vastly extensible via JAVA & TypeScript.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

Slack connectivity to internal resources is touted as value added but falls short of potential due to profuctory replies and lack of follow up.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rapid development. Ease of standing up platform. Consolidated back end services. All this means we're more profitable.

 ### 13. simple but powerful

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas L. | Fullstack Web Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

I love the ease with which you can create tables and relationships as well as the different queries.
and complex queries can be made very easily from the client.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

the limit it has for triggers since it cannot exceed a certain weight and for large projects it can be a problem.
and also not having a log of all requests can make it difficult to identify when it is a server or code error.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

allows you to create tables very quickly to avoid wasting time in repetitive configurations and installations and gives directly an endpoint you add authentication and ready you can test very quickly

 ### 14. Simplifies our Software Development Business, 8base is a Tremendous Value!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris F. | CEO / Chief Strategist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

Building Front-end Apps using React-JavaScript takes a professional Developer. With the new 8base Application Builder this helps me have the proper developers for the proper business case.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simplifying Software Development and handling all Back-end Services. This allows us to have predictable costs with true Scalability.
We have an elite team that leverage all the value of 8base.

 ### 15. Jr Full stack web developer review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rolando P. | Full-stack Developer jr, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

It's straightforward to use and amicable for the new developer, the API explorer work well, and it has all the functionality that's needed to test the queries and mutations.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

Sometimes it's slow and has some issues and bugs with migrations, but nothing that prevents the workflow, the documentation is very useful and has all that's needed, but sometimes it's difficult for the newbie.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The use of queries and integration with Graphql it's really helpful and the API explorer to mount the queries/mutations is a great and valuable feature.

 ### 16. Great idea, weird decisions.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dmitry N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

- GUI database managment
- Branching environments
- Built-in API Explorer

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

- Migration generation/commiting
- Build times
- The decision to remove one-to one relations (Guys, it's a DB management tool, 1-to-1 is one of the core relation types that should be always available).

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves me the hassle of creating my own GraphQL backend and managing it in addition to my frontend projects.
It also helps me with type definitions and syncing data with my team.

 ### 17. Excelent cloud services

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miguel A. A. | Javascript Developer , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

I can get all the products on the same platform, DB with graphql, cloud functions like webhooks, triggers, tasks, etc with an environment like nodejs

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

that deployments often fail and are very slow to run again.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Among the many benefits of 8base, the one that stands out the most is that I can have the entire backend centralized in it, easily apply integrations, and secure the database.

 ### 18. A very nice low code solution with graphql

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

You get automatically created queries and mutations and resolvers are very easy to adapt to special needs

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

It restricts a bit the capacity with the DB I think at firtst, it would be nice to have ability to do SQL queries

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

helping people host concerts in their places and all the logistics involved

 ### 19. 8Base is an amazing platform for developing web applications so fast, it's secure

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juan R. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

8Base is an amazing platform for developing web applications so fast, it's secure, and it allows developers to interact without losing control. The cost is really very good for the value it generates.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

8Base just needs to include more base examples to take from there and evolve the platform.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main pain that attacks is to develop applications quickly given the scarcity of labor. Likewise, in this process they included tools so that developers did not feel that they were losing control over the application. They use state-of-the-art technology and allow applications and solutions to quickly scale.

 ### 20. nstruct experience with 8base

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin F. | Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

Very knowledgeable team. Took the time to understand my business and provided comprehensive support to define the scope and set clear expectations for the engagement.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

Dependency on 3rd party service providers to establish business requirements.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

8base serves as the foundation for our platform stack, enabling the core functionalities of our solution, managing virtual environment to support capacity and scale, integrating with other ecosystem participants and providing relevant advice and guidance a we scale our business. 8base is, in essence, our "outsourced CTO".

 ### 21. Confortable to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesus R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

The easy way to have a graphql api from a relational database

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

Sometime the performance of the queries gets low when a table has to much relations

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Have a awesome graphql api in minutes

 ### 22. It makes it easy to manage back-end for designers.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anya Z. | Project Manager, Multimedia Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

I like the ease of database management: you can easily create and update tables. For example, you can delete table rows, and 8base takes care of normalization.
It also has integration with Auth0.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

8base doesn't have Auth0 integration with Gatsby yet. There is a demo on how to integrate Auth0 with React, but Gatsby's environment has some differences. I put in a request for direct integration with Gatsby, but it's still in the works.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

8base solves the problem of data management. It helps to store the images for my Gatsby site on Amazon CDN. It also launched Form Builders recently, but I haven't tried its front-end features yet. I look forward to it.

 ### 23. A Review on Fast, Scalable Infrastructure

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matteo Z. | CEO & Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

As a small business, 8Base has become increasingly useful as a single touchpoint for all our database and infrastructure needs. It's become easier for us to manage and scale our technologies as we use them. Its low-code environment can be managed even by non-technical staff. This is a huge plus! In addition, a number of other qualities come to mind: the customer service has been timely, the platform has the ability to easily and manually fix/input data, to quickly search and query information, and to silo data into a variety of environments with a single click.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

Over three years, several times I have had our database go down and we were unable to see what went wrong. This is a big problem, as we are in the Healthcare space and working with doctors. Since those times, the customer support and engineering team at 8Base has drastically improved and we have issues fixed in no time. It's great!

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

8Base is solving the challenge that non-technical teams or teams with not enough dev capacity have when creating a company that requires some development work. This is an important chance to be able to break into a market with no dominant player.

 ### 24. Incredible platform for rapid development - team loves it!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

We love the ability to quickly create functions that exist behind a GraphQL API, without needing to set up the additional infrastructure or security. The ability to easily modify and change data structures within the data storage system is a game changer, as it allows for great amounts of flexibility as you explore customer needs. Overall, the platform has sped up development through to deployment and we are able to implement changes or enhancements much quicker. The more our development team uses 8Base, the more positive feedback we receive. 8Base is preferred over even comparable AWS tools!

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

Overall, there truly isn't much to be critical of. If we had to critique, we would like to see a way to easily tack on a monitoring system to centralize our logging system with the rest of our tools.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

8base is allowing us to develop without having to set up the infrastructure that goes into building a net new product, including but not limited to, our deployment pipelines and the infrastructure as code. Outside of this, it is simply an easier platform for our junior devs to pick up quickly and start running with. As a high-growth startup, speed to market is key - 8Base is helping solve this business challenge.

 ### 25. Amazing backend as a service with graphQL

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark L. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

I've been using 8base for a few years now and it's been an amazing choice for our backends.

with 8base I was able to set up a database with a built-in graphQL server in minutes.

The UI for managing the database, creating new tables and columns with specific types and relationships is simply fantastic,
The UI for managing and creating roles is great and super simple to set up roles and permissions overall.

The documentation now overall is pretty good as well, and I've only had to contact support a few times for questions a couple of years ago, and they have definitely improved the documentation further since.

The price for the service is reasonable even for single small developers like me or for hobby projects.

8base support has been pretty great.

Overall it's a fantastic service and I recommend it to everyone who wants to set up a backend as a service quickly.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

My dislikes are very nitpicky except 1 thing.

The only real negative I have experienced with 8base is that the login and register functionality for customers have gone down several times in the years I have used it. I believe around 5 times in total it was down for more than an hour. Each time I created a support ticket and usually got a quick response that they started working on fixing it quickly no matter the time of day.

To my understanding it has only been the "loginWithEmailAndPassword" and "signUpWithEmailAndPassword" functions that have broken over time. Which you only need to use if you want to handle login/register on your website. However the default recommended login/signup method is to redirect the user to an auth0 login/register page, and then get redirected back to your own website after the user logs in. (I think this login/signup method is the one they have most focus on and that likely has been functional the entire time).

---

When I first signed up 8base had a fantastic live chat support where you could talk to experienced 8base support members live to figure out issues. They have since removed the live chat and the only way to contact them is now the community forum they have, or a support ticket system.

This isn't really that big of a deal since the docs are pretty great and I pretty much only use the support if things go down. But it was nice to have the live chat option.

**Recommendations to others considering 8base:**

If you're even considering setting up a backend, try out 8base first with the free plan, it's great!

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

8base allowed us to get an entire backend up and running in just a few minutes including a graphQL api endpoint that supports subscriptions.

This likely saved us hundreds of hours, and many headaches maintaining both a postgres database, and managing database migrations and setting up an api server, building an entire role and permissions system and more.

It has been a huge time saver, and provides an amazing UX to manage all this.

It's also great for setting up a project quickly for small clients.

 ### 26. Good experience overall

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2023

**What do you like best about 8base?**

The thing I like the most is the GraphQL API

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

The way we have to handle commits, deployments and schemas updates. And the documentation.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It removes the necessity of having to create a API from scratch.

 ### 27. Great start for the platform, good potential to grow.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

Database feature set is great - managing tables and relations is very easy. Cloud functions work nicely and documentation is pretty good. As a newer platform its doing well to try and get feature parity with some bigger players whilst adding its own touch.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

Pricing model has room for improvement, direct access to the DB would be a great addition and the Front End builder has a long way to go before it can match other players in the Low Code builder scene. More external integrations on both the back and front end would be great.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy access to a back end platform without the overheads of managing the infra. A lower effort authentication system that allows the use of external ID providers.

 ### 28. No code / Low code platforms

**What do you like best about 8base?**

Turning your ideas into reality is made easy using 8Base. We at ITWox specialize in working with Startups, most of the startups have similar challenges like the cost to build, time to market, and infrastructure management etc. We are able to solve most of these challenges using the 8Base platform. A few interesting features to talk about are
- Managing the data is easy because of the prebuilt API.
- The UI is easy to understand, and very interactive.
- The API explorer is a very useful tool.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

As 8base is developing new features, the documentation is sometimes not very clear or does not look deep enough into the functionality, so it is difficult to get complex data structures done at first.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are managing, supporting, and enhancing a few startup businesses to build on 8Base.
- For non-technical founders wea ree helping them to build the full-scale technology business
- With the App Builder, we are simplifying the front-end web app experience.

 ### 29. Simple & intuitive

**What do you like best about 8base?**

My company, ITWox Inc., (www.itwox.com) provides a "Virtual CTO organization" for FinTechs and other start-ups - including technology strategy, product strategy, UI/UX design & development/support services spread across our 3 delivery centers (USA, Costa Rica & India).

8base has been a great partner & platform for our customers as it takes care of some of the harder plumbing in any application/platform development (DevOps, Security & Infra scaling) as the platform reduces the time/effort significantly. Onboarding new developers have been a breeze for us & on average it took us 2 days for a developer to know the platform in-depth as well as start building apps. This in itself is a significant gain in productivity.

As we work with start-ups, 8base has been a great fit to get to market much faster, with stability & scale of the backend.

Overall: very happy with the platform & excited to see it take off in the community

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

You are limited to AWS Cognito or Auth0 for authentication - but then these are good enough for most of our client base.
Besides that, not much to dislike here as it does what it claims to do.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- bring products to the market as fast as possible
- ability to find technical talent & ramp up & scale quickly to the client's needs
- have a strong technical base to build & iterate on products/platforms

 ### 30. Excellent experience and fast customer service!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about 8base?**

I think the product speaks for itself. My team and I were drawn to it from our first tests. After that, the 8base team reached out to us and gave us the confidence to start building on their platform. Now we have a small (but growing) business unit built around low-code with 8base at the core. Whenever we ran into a speedbump their support team has been readily available which is something we appreciate a lot.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

There are some features that we have requested and we are super excited about App Builder. So it´s not that we dislike stuff but we wish it was available sooner.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Low-code projects with great flexibility but with no DevOps headaches. We use it to create small apps and middleware solutions. We like the CI/CD that's built into it.

 ### 31. Our great experience working with 8base

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about 8base?**

We have been working together for a year. We found in 8base a company with a lot of professionalism, human values and commitment. We were able to achieve the goals we set ourselves. And we hope to continue working together for a long time.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

We have nothing to dislike about 8base, we would like to continue working together in the future.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We worked on an 8base core-project where they needed an ad-hoc development team. We were able to deliver it on time working as a team with them.

 ### 32. This is what "low code" should be!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abdul K. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

8base has truly created a game-changer. The dynamic Graphql API is amazing! Just use the GUI to define your tables and fields, and the GraphQL API is dynamically created/updated.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

From the beginning, I was wishing 8base had some front-end tools to help with development, but they've just released their drag and drop front-end editor—another game changer.

**Recommendations to others considering 8base:**

8base offers an amazing value proposition. Truly, it's a no-brainer compared to building your own AWS back-end for projects.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ReactJS and other technologies make it easy to make gorgeous front-end and single-page applications. The heavy lifting has always been the back-end. Making an entire AWS back-end is no easy/small task, but 8base makes it so.

 ### 33. 8Base Review after 6 months of use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabriel E. | Full Stack Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

How easy is it to build and edit an entire backend, and not need to care about DevOps and the feeling that you can deploy something in hours that should last a couple of days

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

When I was new to 8base the documentation didn't help too much in more complex tasks like example authentication with OpenID and just because I found an old repo with this example I was able to replicate, Some bugs were found but always the support people are ready to resolve these problems

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking for a way to fast deploy a backend environment and just care about the frontend, a very good benefit is not caring about server connections, crashes, DOSS attacks

 ### 34. Very easy and helpful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Léo L. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

I created my data schema in like 10 minutes and then all my CRUD endpoints where availaible through graphQL

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

I don't use every features, only the minimum so everything is good for me

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Is solving ORM management for me

 ### 35. It is easy to use and I'm much more productive.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

The UI is very good. They have taken the time to understand developer needs and built the tools that make the developer's job a lot easier and allow the developer to focus on design and functionality instead of non-value-add technical work.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

I'm eager to see the front-end tools that they have promised. The Graph QL needs a little bit of work to enable nested filters and updates. While you can do complex filtering, it happens on the client-side, which is less than ideal.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using 8base to do rapid prototyping and build software with non-technical founders. The rapid prototyping and ability to implement software that can scale without having to re-platform the product are making a huge difference.

 ### 36. The smartest way to build modern SaaS applications that scale

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andréas B. | Co-founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

I have been using 8base for 2 years and a half now. It has been the best tech investment we made in the early days to build https://luego.eu. By abstracting most of the technical challenges for us, they turned DevOps into a commodity. This enabled us to focus on Product from day 1 and deliver a truly differentiated experience to our customers, instead of wasting time on building our own infrastructure. Using 8base is a key pillar of our product and go-to-market strategy because it enables us to iterate faster than the competition. Last but not least, the reactivity of their support and the quality of their help is astonishing.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

I wished there was a better way to monitor issues in production with a dashboarding of performances and alert systems. Also, the question of the ownership of our data and vendor lock-in remains. We still don't know what will happen if one day we need to change our infrastructure and migrate our data out.

**Recommendations to others considering 8base:**

I would advise new users to get started with a tool like 8base, that provides DevOps as a commodity, instead of internalizing the competence in your team. I believe the real differentiator is product and user experience, not infrastructure.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main benefit of 8base is the privilege of developing software by focusing mainly on products and customers instead of infrastructure. It enables teams to stay small and iterate fast while having the impact of a startup with an internal DevOps team.

 ### 37. Great low-code BaaS platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh C. | Managing Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

8base provides a simple platform to create an application back-end quickly without requiring a heavy investment in infrastructure, complex skillsets, or API construction. API creation is just as simple to develop and deploy.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

Complete documentation for the platform is not immediately easily accessible by developers. To acquire some documentation, we had to open a support ticket and wait.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

New mobile application development with a low-maintenance back-end. Back-end has not required any special skills. Javascript developers are able to be productive very quickly.

 ### 38. Very easy to take in hand

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Léo L. | Lead Data, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

Graph QL api is very powerful and easy to implement

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

No possible to have restful endpoints for the api

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ORM Management

 ### 39. Shortest path to a Working Product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angel L. | CEO / Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

8base re-shaped the way software is built.

As a Software Developer and Product Manager, I love that I can use the bests strategies for prototyping a digital product to actually build a powerful scalable system.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

I think that what the platform is missing is a mechanism to extend it. There are hundreds of potential features that the platform could have that can be built by a strong community.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building products faster, period.

8base takes the concept of Low code to the maximum expression. Their Data modeling tool and cloud functions are the most powerful tools that I've ever used to deliver apps faster.

 ### 40. 8Base continues to impress w their knowledge, execution, & general approach to partnership.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gary M. | Co-Founder, President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

Their knowledge of business and entrepreneurship
Their partnership and communication
Their loyalty
Their commitment to excellence

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

Nothing at this moment. Thanks for asking!

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

8Base had to pivot the engineering of our project due to Russia-Ukraine conflict, and thus far, have navigated a difficult situation beautifully.

 ### 41. Outsourced IT Shop

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

When my co-founder and I started our SaaS company, we wanted to avoid hiring an IT staff to build and maintain our SaaS product. With 8base, we were able to have them develop our product using their low code platform and then had them become our ongoing maintenance and enhancement provider.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

We were one of 8base's initial customers and sometimes had to go through "growing pains" together. Most of the pain was focused on process immaturity that improved over time.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem that 8base solved for us was taking the business vision we had in our heads and making it a SaaS reality. The main benefit was a robust, feature-rich SaaS platform delivered at an outstanding value.

 ### 42. Model for the future

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark S. | CEO, Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

They make the backend easy so innovators can focus on the front end (which is normally where the value creation is noticed).

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

An early stage ventures goes through multiple stages from concept, design, planning, and implementation. With many teams, its good to have a quarterback and always know where you are in the process. They do this very well, and everyone's accessible. But at this critical stage, there's always room for improvement.

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Back end engineeering is always the most complex, and they remove this problem for founders. Frankly it makes the innovation side more fun.

 ### 43. CEO

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott F. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2022

**What do you like best about 8base?**

Not only does the technology platform help organization achieve profound business objectives, but it is also scalable and incredibly robust and unique.

**What do you dislike about 8base?**

we did not know about them earlier- no complaints

**What problems is 8base solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A Dramatic increase in velocity gains for development and cost savings that would have otherwise not been achieved. Great product development through 8base
