# Is anyone else out there actually using the integrated ShipStation successfully? 10/25/20 We have ShipStation successfully attached to Rain, but we are not fully understanding or utilizing it for what we believe is the intended purpose...which would be for the customer to fill their shopping cart, go to checkout, chose shipping option, pay, and wait for status as an item is prepared and shipped. But...Rain does not have data cells per product for H x W x D and only has a data cell for weight. Therefore unless you use USPS one box fits all method (which one box DOES NOT fit all), or FREE shipping only which defeats the purpose of selling online in our industry, then with ANY other shipping method you will need and must have dimensions AND weight in each individual products data. So my question is, without WEIGHT and DIMENSIONS data attached to each item, how can ShipStation calculate an accurate shipping price for our web customer to know the full and final cost at checkout? We currently have to get or make a phone call or email for every web sale, only to then manually research the shipping amount, and then send an additional invoice for shipping fee to the buyer which becomes a second and separate transaction. Even with this workaround, Rain POS will not let you charge someone for shipping without a product attached to the transaction!! The customer paid already for the product online...now we have to invoice the shipping and add a fake item to the shipping charge so that Rain will accept the transaction! What are we doing wrong? Rain customer support has been no assistance with this for us...as they do integrate ShipStation in the software, but dont know how ShipStation works at the customer support level and can only offer us cumbersome workarounds...which is what we are already doing. Can anyone tell us how to use this service correctly? This is definitely a customer experience faux pas as well as the customer has much more cumbersome transaction this way.
