# Which terminal emulators perform best on enterprise performance benchmarks for large file handling and high-volume sessions?

&lt;p&gt;There&#39;s no standard benchmark for terminal emulators, so I&#39;d build the test around the accident that actually happens: someone cats a two gigabyte log into the terminal by mistake, with thirty other sessions open. That&#39;s where the tools separate. Some freeze the one tab, some freeze everything, some can&#39;t cancel the output at all. What you&#39;re really testing is recovery, not speed: can you stop it, does scrollback stay usable, did the other sessions survive. A tool that handles the accident gracefully will handle the normal load fine. The reverse is not true.&lt;/p&gt;
