# Which PSA platforms give you the best view of project profitability and how efficiently your team is using its time?

I went through professional services automation reviews for the tools people mention most for margins and capacity, and pulled ratings so the picture is a bit more grounded.

Kantata leans hard into resource planning and capacity forecasting, with consulting reviewers describing more accurate forecasting and milestone-based revenue recognition, though several say the dashboards and reporting take effort to use well.

Productive is described by agency reviewers as the thing that tells them whether the business is staying profitable, with profitability-by-client views, budget tracking tied to invoicing and utilization reporting in one place.

Scoro brings cost and profit forecasting, live dashboards and utilization planning together, with reviewers using it to watch margins and capacity, though a few note it can feel complex at first.

Ruddr gets called out for utilization tracking, gross-margin analysis and productivity reporting, with reviewers saying it finally gave them a clear read on where time goes and how profitable each client is.

Did the profitability numbers hold up once real data was in, or did you find yourself reconciling against a spreadsheet anyway? And how much setup did it take before utilization reporting reflected reality?

Productive is the first tool where the profitability number actually meant something. Every other platform gave us a figure we'd then go verify in a spreadsheet. Productive's budget-to-invoice connection made it trustworthy enough to act on.
