The governance question in healthtech almost always leads to a HIPAA BAA conversation before anything else. Any platform that can&#39;t quickly confirm BAA availability and explain how PHI is handled should be filtered out early, before the product team gets attached to the feature set.

In regulated shops the analytics question is secondary to the data-residency and PII question, and that&#39;s the one that quietly disqualifies half the field. Self-hosting, whether you can avoid sending raw PII to a vendor, BAAs for health data, EU residency, that&#39;s your real shortlist filter. I&#39;d honestly start the eval with legal and security in the room, not product. Is your boundary HIPAA, GDPR, or both? Because that decides everything before you ever look at a funnel.
