# Which location-based marketing software proves ROI through visitor lift and sales attribution at retail events?

Curious how the retail marketing measurement folks here read this one. Which location-based marketing software actually proves ROI through visitor lift and sales attribution at retail events, rather than reporting impressions and calling it lift?

Every vendor can show more visits during an event. Proving the event caused them means a comparison window, a control group and a sales join, agreed before the event runs. PlotProjects (4.7/5 G2 rating): The visit half. A geofencing SDK built to measure footfall and store visits precisely, used by Shopfully, Groupon and Burger King. Geofencing scores 0.90. Trade-off: it counts app users only, and the sales join is yours to build.

Propulso (4.2/5 G2 rating): The lift half. GPS mobility data from third-party providers turned into visit metrics, with a geomarketing layer to run ads against them, so exposed and unexposed visits can be compared. IP Geolocation scores 0.92. Trade-off: Campaign Automation scores 0.73, the lowest here.

M360 (4.7/5 G2 rating): The event half. Shopping-centre campaigns with real-time results on centre KPIs. Campaign Automation is rated 10/10 by reviewers. Trade-off: attribution stops at the centre level, not the tenant's till.

Purple (4.2/5 G2 rating): The return-visit half. Wi-Fi presence is tied to first-party profiles, so an event visitor who comes back is a known person. Trade-off: no POS join out of the box.

I think the sales join is where this gets most interesting. PlotProjects or Propulso can help establish visit behavior, but connecting those visits to transactions is what turns lift into a finance-ready ROI story. For teams that have done this successfully, was POS matching or building a credible control group the harder part?
