# Which Employee Referral solutions boost participation while tracking referral quality metrics effectively?

Participation and quality tend to pull against each other, make referring too easy and quality drops, add friction for quality control and participation drops. Here's how a few platforms within employee referral try to hold both at once:

ERIN: Uses AI to identify which employees to engage and which jobs to recommend to them, driving participation while its built-in analytics track hire rates and quality alongside volume.

Boon: AI-driven recommendations surface the strongest candidates from within an employee's network, aiming to keep quality high even as referral volume scales.

Staffing Referrals: Built specifically as an automated referral management platform for staffing agencies, integrating with Bullhorn and AviontéBOLD to keep quality tracking tied to actual placement outcomes. Does that quality tracking stay accurate once a referral gets passed between multiple recruiters on the same desk?

Genuinely curious how teams measure this in practice: is quality tracked at the referral-submission stage, or only once someone actually gets hired?

I wouldn’t judge referral quality when the referral comes in. The useful signal is what happens afterward: interview rate, offer rate, eventual hire, and ideally retention. ERIN’s participation features become much more interesting if its analytics can show which employees consistently refer candidates who actually progress, not just who submits the most names.
