# Which co-browsing tools offer annotation and highlight features so agents can point at specific form fields or page elements during a live guidance session?

Hey G2 users, we had agents using a second screen to draw arrows in screenshots and paste them into chat because our co-browsing tool had no way to point at anything. The question I kept searching for a proper answer to was which co-browsing tools offer annotation and highlight features that let agents point at specific form fields or page elements during a live session. The feature exists across a lot of tools in theory but what it actually means in practice varies quite a bit.

Five platforms where annotation and highlight come through most clearly:

Glia: Agents can move a cursor directly to navigation items and links on the customer's screen, turning a verbal "click the button on the left" into a direct visual pointer. Does it support simultaneous annotation from both sides or just the agent side?

Surfly: Drawing tools let agents mark up the customer's screen directly, with the ability to switch between view-only and control modes mid-session as needed.

Upscope: Directs customer attention to specific page elements step by step, with agent actions visible to the customer clearly rather than requiring verbal narration alongside.

Channel.me Cobrowsing: Sticky notes and highlight modes let agents mark elements on the page, with the annotation layer kept light enough that it doesn't introduce lag into the session.

Zoho Assist: Step-by-step display makes it visually clear to the customer what the agent is pointing to, with the presentation designed to reduce hesitation before the customer follows through.

Which of these held up when the form being annotated was genuinely complex, multiple steps, lots of fields? And did customers follow the annotations without needing explanation, or was there still a learning curve on their side?

Annotation is useful, but only if it’s intuitive for the customer. I’ve seen cases where too many overlays actually confuse users more than help them. Did you find any tool where customers followed visual guidance naturally without needing verbal clarification?
